Ipad2 can mirroring with 'component av cable'?

(I'm foriegner.. so my english is too bozo...)
I have a ipad2.
I want to useing mirroring tech.
First purpose is 'to presentation with ipad in Keynote'
Second purpose is 'to show about ipad2 home screen(background image on application) for my presentation audience'
Third purpose is 'to see the video'(is not important)
I know 4kind of cable.
Apple Digital AV Adapter(HDMI adapter)
VGA Adapter for ipad Dock(VGA,D-sub adapter)(is it need ipad Dock? I don't have ipad Dock)
Apple component cable(3video code and 2 audio code)
Apple composit cable(1video code and 2 audoi code)(Not good at video quality)
(in korea.. we have many HDTV supporing HDMI... but not projector..
Be as usual many projector is using component code.(Only NEW monitor or NEW TV have a HDMI code))
So in my purpose...
Exactly, ipad2 + component cable are can using mirroring tech?
If it can not mirroring..
what kind of cable(or apapter) is the best?

Only way?
I know Apple AV adapter is support perfect mirroring.
but
VGA adapter is not support (perfact)mirroring?
I think this is supporting perfect mirroring screen but not audio...

  • IPod Touch (2nd gen) - Does not work with Component AV Cable

I have a 2nd generation iPod Touch. Today I bought the component AV cable at the Apple store (along with a universal dock). Connected it correctly to the TV and:
    1. No picture (screen is blue, as though nothing connected); no sound (whether video or music)
    2. Whatever video is playing on the actual iPod gets stuck - as though it is on "pause", with the difference that you can push "play" and "pause" and the only thing that does is change the "play" or "pause" icon from one to the other or vice-versa--video will not actually play
    3. Setting Widescreen to "on" or "off" has no effect
    4. Tried connecting it to an old iPod Nano (2nd gen I think) - also no sound.
    Please advise!

Try changeing your TV out setting, found in the (Settings) of your ipod. Following Paragraph found in the iPod User manual (Page 98): http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipodtouch
"Use these settings to set up how iPod touch plays videos on your TV. For more
information about using iPod touch to play videos on your TV, see “Watching Videos
on a TV” on page 39.
Turn widescreen on or off: Choose Video and turn Widescreen on or off.
Set TV signal to NTSC or PAL: Choose Video > TV Signal and select NTSC or PAL.
NTSC and PAL are TV broadcast standards. iPod touch displays NTSC 480p/PAL 576p
when attached to a TV using a component cable, or NTSC 480i/PAL 576i using a
composite cable. Your TV might use either of these, depending on where you bought
it. If you’re not sure which to use, check the documentation that came with your TV. "
    Hope that helps,
    Weston

  • How can i use apple tv and iTunes movies with component video cables for an older receiver and projector?

i have an older yamaha receiver and projector both without hdmi inputs but component video instead. I would like to get apple tv and start renting movies through iTunes but apple tv only supports hdmi and ive read that iTunes has codes to prevent the use ot analog cables with movies. Is there a way to adapt hdmi to component video for both apple tv and iTunes easily?

Yes, HDMI is the only supported method. Also, with converters you will run into issues with HDCP (which will prevent you from streaming DRM content from iTunes etc) as well as resolution.

  • IMac receives message "Cannot connect to Apple TV" - Apple TV can see iTunes library and can mirror with iPhone.

    Hi all.
I have an iMac (mid 2011) running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 and an apple TV that my little brother just gave me (I believe it's 3rd gen from serial #).
I can successfully mirror my iPhone 4S with AirPlay, and the Apple TV can see the iTunes lib from my iMac, but when I attempt to connect to the Apple TV from the icon in the tool bar it gives me the message "Could not connect to Apple TV."
Spent some time on the phone with a really super tech, he had me go through the paces with restarting the router, the apple TV, my iMac, checked all the network config etc - no dice.
I even reinstalled OS X.... still no dice.
    Has anyone experienced this issue?
The second tech who called me back thought it might be hardware related. I brought this iMac in for a new hard drive less than a year ago after it randomly began throwing kernel panics and finally it just wouldn't boot. I don't do very much with my computer so it's kind of odd that it would have these issues unless there is something fundamentally wrong with the way it was put together. It doesn't take any abuse - not like my macbook!
    Thanks in advance.

Had my iMac taken in - RAM replaced & video card replaced. Able to mirror in the store. Restored my iMac with time machine backup and restored apple TV. Still getting the same message. Could it be some network setting I'm overlooking? I tried it while the apple TV was connected via ethernet as well - no dice.

  • Two ACS4.0 box using win- can connect with cross over cable

    Hi
we have 2 ACS4.0 box, internal replication is happening between ACS1(prim) to ACS2(sec) but not ACS2 to ACS1 why?
Also I need 1 suggesion, whether we can connect 2 ACS boxes through cross cable for sync.
At present it is connected with 2 diff cores(ACS1 to core 1 & ACS2 to core2) and cores are interconnected.
    What is the normal practice.
    Regards
    Naga

    Hi Naga,
The purpose of Replication in ACS is for the Primary Server to overwrite the secondary server's settings that you have chosen.
This is by design Replication is meant to be one way and not bi-directional.
The Cisco Secure ACS Solution Engine supports the operation of only one Ethernet connector at a time. Concurrent operation of both Ethernet connectors is not supported."
To get redundancy with any ACS - you need replication setup with TWO ACS, it is not
possible to setup a NIC failover in the same chasis.

  • Apple TV 2 versus Component AV Cable from iDevices to TV

I'm comparing the features and compatibility of the Apple Component AV Cable ($50) versus the purchase of an ATV2 ($100); and I can't find anything that ATV2 provides that the cables plus and iDevice fail to provide.
If you have an iPad, iPhone 4, or iPod Touch that supports HD content, you can rent HD material from the iTunes store from your Mac or any of those iDevices. You can then use the Component AV cable to connect your iDevice to the Component jacks of the TV and audio jacks of your receiver (or TV, I guess). I think this scenario shows parity between ATV2 and the cables.
This purchase via the iTunes store can be transferred around to your devices, so you're not tethered to your TV room or even your home since the rented file is stored locally. We've started a movie then realized we'd like to move (from living room to bedroom) or even leave the house and finish the movie on the iPad. But renting (streaming) HD content directly from the ATV2 will play only on the ATV2 and is not considered "portable" since it must reauthorize rentals each time you press play.
I think that second scenario above gives the cables one advantage over ATV2.
What ATV2 advantage am I not considering?
I know that experts will shatter this argument with the 1080 vs 720 output to the big TV. But since TV is held to 720 and my eyes can't distinguish 720 vs 1080 on my current HDTV, that argument is not yet valid for my comparison. When I purchase a newer HDTV, the $99 for the ATV2 will be negligible, and I'll still have the cables for the older TV in its new resting place.

    - no HD output from iDevice... the dock supports VGA 1024x768 (if you do the calc it's like 614p).. 720p HD is 1280x720.. so not quite HD.. only 480p (SD DVD quality) with component AV cable.. so no HD output from.. non-starter for me.. i have a 58 inch HD TV and i want to get my use out of it..
    - Dolby digital 5.1 audio out is missing from iDevices.. non-starter for me!
    - streaming from a computer means you have potentially limitless on demand storage capacity for movies you own (i have about 2TB of music vs 64GB for the largest mobile device)
    - you don't have to manage files on and off the mobile device because of limited storage capactity.. i just want to sit down and have access to everything i own.. scroll and play.. not connect to computer, move files, connect to TV and have to repeat that process all the time.. argh!
    - if you leave with your mobile device everyone else in the the house it out of luck
    - you actually need to be connecting that cable all the time.. have you heard about airPlay? that is a much better solution coming in iOS 4.2.. that will at least allow you to beam the video wirelessly to compatible AV Receiver, appleTV, docks and other compatible devices (Denon is already fully on board with this for 2011)
    - you have to get up from your chair in order to ffwd, rwd, next etc.. argh!.. with apple TV you can use remote or use you iDevice as a remote or logitech remote that controls your whole AV system
so the iDevice solution is cheap.. but as usual you get what you pay for and there is downside in quality of video and audio and in convenience, amount of file management necessary, storage capability etc

I have my iPad Video set to "widescreen", but it didn't make a difference when I briefly tried it with a HDMI connection from my iPad2 to my Samsung TV.  The video was letterboxed as was the iPad homepage when it was displayed on my big TV.
I didn't try a streaming video so I don't know if that would be letterboxed or not.  I do have a movie on my iPad and I'll give it a try (perhaps tomorrow).  If it isn't letterboxed, I'll post it here.
Overall (at least via HDMI), I was very unimpressed with the process.  The picture seemed washed out and the resolution certainly suffered.  I don't remember what my test video was, but the results were what one would expect with a SD signal.  At this moment I don't see any serious usage of this process for me.

To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
and select the Library that you moved.  That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
Your first option didn't work because you imported one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
Your second option didn't work because you simply referenced her library on the old machine.

I can't sync my notes from I-phone and Ipad2 to the mac anymore, not even with the usb cable!

    I'm also having this problem.
In fact two things have stopped working with my iPhone recently.
    1.  iTunes no longer launches automatically when I plug in my iPhone to my iMac.
    2.  The iPhone Notes app has stopped syncing via USB lead between the iPhone and the iMac.
I have tried closing applications, and rebooting both the iPhone and iMac, but this makes no difference.
I'm running OS X 10.6.8 on my iMac.
My iPhone is a 3G running iOS 4.2.1
    Can anyone help?

I have reached the same conclusion in the mean time. I have done a bit of investgation in to other grahics cards and am seeing some that show SPDIF connections from the card to the mother board. I was not familar with SPDIF but it did a little bit of sluething. It is of course a digitally enconded voice. I am guessing that in that case the mother board ( assuming it supports this hardware option) would use this output and be able to translate that digital audio to its other audio outputs. That is a lot of guessing of course. I think my "solution" might  be a whole new desktop - a rather drastic course of action! I was in the proceess of getting ready to upgrade this machine anyway with a new graphics card (which I will now return), go to Win 7, and maybe even a new digital TV reciever,  and I don't want to throw good money after bad anyway.
    Thanks for your comments

I'd ask that on the iPad forum.

  • Video mirroring iPad 2 + Component AV Cable

Can I use a Component Av Cable to video mirroring my iPad 2?
I have the VGA adapter an it works great for that purpose but I'd like better quality output than just VGA.
    Have you tested this combination?
    Thanks

Confirmed, the component cable does not support mirroring.
Also I don't know where consumers get it in their heads that VGA is worse then component.
    They're both analog connections.
They can both do 1080p (1920x1080 or 1920x1200 (16:10 aspect)), VGA can actually go higher then that.
Some devices will look washed out with VGA, this is NOT the VGA standards fault, but rather that devices implementation. The Xbox 360 for example had this issue originally but it was fixed via a software update.
VGA and Component are definitely on their way out in the consumer space, but they're still widely used in the business world with older data projectors (VGA being most prominent).
As for mirroring, the HDMI and VGA adapters are your best friends with the iPad 2.
I believe the component cable could handle the mirroring, its just something on Apple's end that's preventing it. Perhaps because if you use component on an older non-HDTV it can only do 480i and perhaps that causes issues with the iPad trying to output to that resolution. Just a thought.
