If I have an iPad with 3g, and I am using 3g on the road, does wi-fi automatically take offer when I move into wi-fi range?

Data should be delivered by the first available service from Wi-Fi, 3G, Edge or GPRS. There will a symbol that makes it clear which service is being used. See pages 29-30 from the iPad manual.

Does Internet Explorer take over cursor control ?

Hi all,
Is it possible that Internet Explorer takes over control of the settings of the cursor in Shockwave dcr files ?
Since a couple of months I have realized that the cursor in my dcr movies does not change anymore from the default pointer despite being instructed using lingo commands.
For example:
   on startMovie me
      cursor 280
   end
should change the cursor into a finger, but it does not.
I have also tried hiding the cursor (cursor 200) and using my own custom made custom but the default pointer refuses to disappear.
When using Google Chrome all works well.
Hower, this is not a proper solution since I cannot control the users choice using Internet Explorer or Google Chrome.
I would expect a lot of screams from all over the world but the lack of that makes me think there maybe a simple way to avoid this.
Any comments are very much appriciated.

Running Prime Infrastructure in HA mode but the primary server won't take over from the secondary

We're running Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.3 in High Availability mode, or atleast we're supposed to.
At first everything seemed fine. We were using the primary server and the failover worked without a hitch when we tried it.
Then the problems started. I think it was at the same time as we increased the disk-size and therefore had to fail over.
When looking into the primary server using CLI everything seems fine but the service doesn't fail back to it. We've even tried to restart the secondary server in order to force the primary server to take over but it didn't work.
In about 2 weeks we need to upgrade Prime and while doing that we would prefer to have our HA working so that we can continue monitoring our network.

Iam a architecture student and i need to buy a macbook for designing, And some of the program's doesnt work on OS-X such as Revit unfortunately , And i need to know if it does effect to much on the speed, please if anybody knows help me!!!. When using Boot Camp, only one OS is running at a time. That OS has sole access to the computer's hardware; it won't affect Mac OS X's performance when running it.

Does iPhone (4) take over Airport on eMac?

I'm totally confused about this so bear with me. My son gave me an iPhone 4 yesterday and connected it to my eMac Wifi base. Now I can't find any record of my eMac on my ATT Diagnostic Site and there have been four new access numbers added since I last looked including the iPhone on the next to last place. I'm still trying to connect my wireless iMac to my printer (again) The printer has lost contact with my Base Station (Airport) on my eMac.
I've downloaded the iPhone User's Guide but it'll take me weeks to absorb what I want to use from the Guide's 156 pages. I did find this which is what worries me. (edit -- I tried to paste the quotation but it didn't take.)

What concerns me is that when I used Disk Utility to check my eMac disk the permissions are OK but Verify Disk gives me the message: "invalid extent entry" then "The volume needs to be repaired -- Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit."
I read somewhere that I can use my install disk to repair this. If so, what keys do I use to enter the disk?

I spent the better part of an hour on the phone with ATT trying to figure out what has happened. They're sending me a new Router.

Tough to tell what it could mess up, but you must repair the Disk before anything else.
You must repair the HD, if Disk Utility or fsck should fail to repair it, your best bet is DiskWarrior from Alsoft, you'll need the CD to boot from if you don't have another boot drive...

Beginner wants to know how you can on the first loop enter a value then let a feedback number take over from there

How can I on the first loop enter a number into the amplitude subsection of the simulated signal box, and then from that loop onwards use the feedback number?
I am using a simulated signal, tone measurements, and case structure with + or - calculations depending on orignal reading to control the amplitude to a user defined value.
Any help would be very much appreciated, as i have just started out on labview 7

That's the purpose of a shift register or feedback node. They are the same thing and interchangeable. Loop at the attached picture. You initialize either outside the while loop and then whatever calculations you perform, are passed to the next iteration.

Does CC take over my perpetual CS6 licence?

I have a perpetual licence of Creative Suite 6 and am running many of its applications - InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and so on. It is working perfectly for the print-based work I do. However, I may take on a job that requires me to subscribe to InDesign CC 2014 for a month or two. Just the one-app subscription, not the full CC. When the job is finished, I will stop subscribing.
I believe I have seen discussion that CC takes over your perpetual licence (search didn't find it). One comment was that their perpetual licence "disappeared" from their Adobe registered products. Apparently, when you drop the month-to-month subscription, it kills CS6 because it has become related to the subscription, and the only solution is to do a full uninstall, use the cleaner tool, and reinstall the perpetual suite.
Can anyone confirm that this is true?
On a related note, if I buy a single app InDesign subscription, will my other CS6 apps (Photoshop, etc) stop working during the job because I haven't subscribed to the full suite?

If you buy a single app CC, you will be able to work on the CC version as well as the CS6 version.
If you own a license for CS6 you own it for life. Machine capabilities might advance beyond being able to use it, but you always have it.
If you have a full CC subscription it includes the option to install CS6 software but that software is part of the CC subscription, so if the subscription ends so does the use of the CC-acquired versions. Your licensed software still remains useable if you end the subscription.
As far running both CC and CS together, it should be possible, though in my case CC decided to assume control of my suite programs to an extent where it changed how they are set up. So I can't answer regarding how things get along when you mix them in the same system.

My update to iOS 5 took about 75 to 80 minutes. After the update I then had to update some aps and reload from the backup. When iOS 5 is being uploaded there should be some sort of status message in the top pert of iTunes. If this is not changing then I think you have a problem. If the status is changing, even of very slowly, then let it keep running until it's done.

The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
1080p HD movies require a recommended speed of 8 Mbps, 720p HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.
Netflix uses adaptive streaming and can reduce quality right down to produce a stream as low as 0.5 Mbps.

The system I'm have is a Mac-mini that had SL on it and no SuperDrive. I have also call Apple Support and they have really have not been to much help over 1st did my up grade to Lion and Installed the Lion Server.... it lost my SSL that I paid for and kill almost on of my server setting, plus kill all my web servers (using apache vhosts), and not to say the LDAP will even let remote users login to your laptops.
PS: There is no way that I'm going to buy a Install USB from Apple... They have over billed me over $300.00 because the Apps Store still has bugs (Glad I did not write that App/Service)

If you ever had problems with your Mac OS X installation you know that the first thing you should do is to check the startup volume using Disk Utility.
After the check has ended and, if the errors exceed a certain level of seriousness, the Disk Utility application will require you to restart your Mac and use its Mac OS X Install disc counterpart.
Other users may have to reinstall OS X altogether, but will find, or already know, that their SuperDrive (a CD/DVD reader and write combo drive) is not functioning properly and it will not be able to read the Install disc.
Although this might happen to Mac OS X Leopard users due to faultyhardware, the vast majority of problematic SuperDrives will be encountered inside Snow Leopard running Macs.
This is due to the updated SuperDrive firmware included in either the Install disc or the software updates one has to install to reach the latest version of OS X, namely 10.6.6.
This can be fixed by flashing the SuperDrive’s stock firmware using free command line tools that one can find for free online (I will write about this process also, but at a later time because this article only focuses on allowing you to create your own alternative USB boot disc).
If you are reading this last bit of information with skepticism, than you should know that it happened to me too. Despite all my tries to make it work properly, the SuperDrive kept on munching any inserted DVDs and just popped them out in about twenty seconds.
The workaround to this issue was to create my own Leopard bootable USB memory stick. I am not suggesting a Snow Leopard bootable stick mainly because there are lots of users that have decided to buy the cheaper, Upgrade version, which I have not tested and, therefore, I’m not sure if it will work properly once written to a USB disk.
And now, here are the exact steps you should follow in order to obtain a fully bootable Leopard (or Lion) Install disc.
Step 1 (If you already have the Leopard install disc DMG file you can skip to Step 2)
Launch Disk Utility (you can find it inside /Applications/Utilities). Here select the Leopard Install disc in the list of drives on the left and click on the New Image menu entry at the top of the window. A save message will appear where you will have to select the Desktop as a destination.
Step 2
After Disk Utility has finished creating the Leopard DMG, insert your USB stick and erase all data and reformat the disk. To do this select the USB in the list of drives on the left and, after clicking on the Erase tab on the right side of the window, choose the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format and click the Erase button beneath.
Step 3
After the USB has been reformatted, download the SuperDuper app from HERE and launch it. Once SuperDuper starts, you will only have to select the DMG in the Copy drop-down menu, your USB memory stick on the right and hit the “Copy Now” button.
One can also use Disk Utility for this task but creating a bootable USB stick failed 2 out 4 times when copying the DMG to the stick (with the exact same settings each time). Creating the bootable stick using SuperDuper proved to be the perfect way to do it because it worked each of the 4 times I tested it.
The steps above can also be used to create a bootable Mac OS X Lion USB by using the InstallESD.dmg image you can find inside the Lion installer (named “Install Mac OS X Lion.app”) downloaded from the Mac App Store in the /Applications folder.
To locate the InstallESD.dmg right click the Lion installer, select the “Show Package Contents” entry, go inside the “Contents” folder, and from there into the “SharedSupport” folder. Inside this folder you can find the InstallESD.dmg you can use to create your own bootable Mac OS X Lion USB stick. To do so, go to the third step described above and use the InstallESD.dmg as the DMG to be copied to your USB disc.
That’s it! Once the process ends you will have a fully bootable Leopard (or Lion) USB disk that you can use as an alternative to the Apple’s DVD Install disc that comes bundled with all Macs.
To use your newly created bootable disk you will have to restart the Mac, press and hold the OPTION key until the StartupManager appears. Here, select the Mac OS X Install disk using your keyboard arrows and press return to start from the selected drive.

Trying to restore my iPhone 5 from a backup but its says that it will take over 24 hours to finish. Is there something I can try to do to speed this up? I feel like it shouldn't take this long

So I have been restoring my iPhone5 from a backup for about 3 hours now however iTunes still says that it is going to take over 24 hours to complete the restore process and the progress bar hasn't moved much at all. I feel like something has gone wrong somehow and it shouldn't take this long to complete. Is there something I can do to speed up this process or do I just have to try to wait it out? I'm scared to just unplug my phone and try again since it might screw something up.
