IPad2 Does WiFi Sync, But iPhone4S Doesn't!

I recently got my fiance's iPad2 set up to wirelessly sync with the iTunes on her Sony Vaio PC, running Windows7. Today, she bought a new iPhone4S and I can't get it to wirelessly sync with the very same iTunes account on the same computer! I've synced the iPhone several times via the cord and when I unplug it, it disappears from the iTunes sidebar. The iPad is unplugged and still present in the sidebar, so it makes me think that the problem does not lie with iTunes or the computer setup. Probably something with the phone.
--All deveices are on the same wireless network
--All devices are running updated softwate
--iTunes has the correct boxes checked on both mobile devices
--I've tried both restarting iTunes and the iPhone4S and that didn't work.

Try to reset the iPod by pressing the home and sleep button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data doing a reset, but it can clear some glitches after installing new software or apps.

Ipad2 has wifi connection but the internet doesn't work

I use my ipad2 at home with the wifi. I have nothing changed but now the internet doesn't work. The ipad shows me the wifi connection but i cannot receive email and the safari doesen't work too.

ITunes 11 (Windows 7) not seeing iPad2 for wifi sync

Hello & HELLLLLPPPPP!!! I have an iPad2 with the most receint IOS - which I believe is 6 - I also have iTunes 11 on my Windows 7 64bit laptop. I cannot get iTunes to see my iPad at all, meaning I cannot get the wifi sync to work. I have checked my Firewall and my services to make certain everythng is kosher and it is. FYI - I am a help desk tech so I know what I'm doing. I have also specified my iPad's IP address in my firewall to allow it in every which way imaginable but still no go.
I'm really frustrated at this point.......any and all help appreciated.......

Going through the same thing. I have he 4gen iPad and the iPhone 5 and my wifi sync has not worked since 10.5 or whatever the update was that came out before iTunes 11. I am so frustrated!

From what I have read, iTunes will automatically sync with iOS5 devices if they are plugged in to electricity (and if you have set up your device to sync over wifi, and if iTunes and the device are on the same wifi network). But when does the auto sync occur? Once a day? Multiple times per day? What triggers the sync to start? Thx

It' s realy very simple. If you don' t forget to enable the checkbox for wifi sync in Itunes on your computer.
If you did so and you have the ipad plugged in to electricity, then you can see in the preferences from the ipad that the checkbox for synchronisation is active. Push on it and the synchronisation will start and end later automaticaly. I tried it three times on an evening and no problems.....
It only toke me only 2 weeks to find out how!!! hi hi. The reaseon was I forgot to activate the wifi possibility on my mac.

NEED HELP configuring wifi sync with iPhone4

Ok, I've updated my iPhone4 to iOS 5 and I have the latest version of iTunes. It looks as if wifi sync should be working fine, but when I go into options, my phone tells me that the phone will sync the next time that it's plugged in and "ComputerA" is available. The problem is that I don't want it to sync with "Computer A", the phone was updated and synced and used exclusively with "Computer B"... "Computer A" is completely decomissioned with a toasted power supply and shouldn't even be part of the equation here... but I'm not given the option of selecting any other computer for the wifi sync to look for.. everything is "greyed out" and cannot be edited... anyone else have this problem? Anyone know how to fix this problem?

You can try putting into the phone the fields you see in Outlook in the +Tools > Accounts+ window. Use the various buttons (Advanced, Edit) to dig down and see your Exchange server and username. The iPhone needs those when you try to set up an Exchange account on it. However, this info alone wasn't enough for my phone to "verify" the Exchange account. I eventually gave up.
I believe I.T. must do something on its end to allow remote devices to tap into the particular user account. In my company they do this if you have a Blackberry but not for anything else.

I tried to sync my ipod to itunes but it said i needed to restore my ipod. So I restored my ipod deleting everything on it. I origionally planned to make a cd from my second library of all the songs that i wanted on my first library from the second library, but itunes won't add my songs to my library. I have no idea what's going on! I have two itunes libraries with all of my music, so I have everything...i just need to get it all onto my ipod. Now when i go to either one of the libraries and try to sync it says it syncs but it really doesn't. None of my songs transferred to my ipod and I honestly don't know what to do. Help please:(

Are you following the instructions here. You many not have the correct boxes/music checked.

Also, you can only sync with one iTunes library. However, you can manage music an video among different iTunes libraries/computers.

I have searched numerous threads but cannot appear to find a mac based solution to my problem.
I recently had to dig out my old macbook pro 3,1 as my new macbook suffered unfortunate unrepairable damage. It is running os 10.7.4
My wife's iPhone 4s is able to wifi sync with it but my iphone 4 (running most recent software ) and my iPad 1 are not seen by wifi.
I have the option to enable wifi syncing ticked. My base station is a dual band time capsule running the most recent software 7.6.1, there is also an apple tv on the network.
IF I attach the iphone 4 or the Ipad by USB they will sync but when I remove them they immediately disappear from the side bar. If I attempt to go to settings general, wifi sync and manually select to sync I receive the message that sync will start once computer becomes available. They are all on the same network
I have restored both the iphone 4 and ipad, reseted network settings on the iphone and ipad, reseted the time capsule settings and deleted itunes and re installed it. All to no avail.
Any proposed solutions I have found via google are for windows based systems, any advice would be appreciated.

I am having this exact same issue. None of my wifi syncing devices had backed up in several days. The only way to get it to backup is right click on the device and actively select "backup".

I have followed your kind advice; syny my iPhone with new PC via physical cal ble connection. However, it still not show in device list when I unplug cable. Formerly, I can sync through wifi from my notebook but now I can't since I have changed to use PC (which connect to the same wifi router).
Please advise if somewhere I did something wrong or where should i do more

Itunes Auto Wifi Syncing with Iphone4

I have a prob with auto wifi sync for my iphone with itunes (syncs fine with icloud) I have turned wifi sync on in itunes butit says once you unplug the phone from the computer you should still see phone listed under 'devices' but my phone not only drops off immediately but 'Devices' generally dissappears even tho i dont click on the eject button. Any ideas??

In itunes is "Sync With This Phone Over Wi-Fi" checked???
you should check it, press apply...
disconnect... and try to sync from the phone option...

Ipad2, AppleTV2, WiFi. The mix doesn't work

When I try to connect my iPad2 to an Apple TV2, the wifi connection breaks down. Everytime. Sometimes it works only with the app "Immage" but never with Video or other else.
I've a MacBook Pro 15 (OS 10.6.8) but it works great with AppleTV2 and AIrPlay. The problem appears only when I try to use AirPlay between Ipad2 and AppleTV2.
AppleTv 2 - OS 4.4.2
IPad - OS 5.0.1
WiFi connection in "G" mode.

Does wifi-sync sync videos taken on my iphone?

I know that photostream won't sync videos, but what about when my phone automatically syncs over wifi? If so, is there someplace where I have to go to enable it?

I take video with my iPhone 4S of hockey games. One file for each period of some 25 to 30 minutes. The file sizes are around 4 GB for each period.
Have you tried to copy 12 GB of video files wirelessly? Good luck with that.
My video files are so large that sharing by any other means than "Sneaker Net" ie hard drive to hard drive, is impractical.
So the short answer to your question might be: "Not going to happen"

Movie made with iPad2 does not sync from PC to iPad2. Why?

I take my iPad2 and I make a 20 second movie in HD quality. I connect it to my Windows PC and with Windows Explorer I go to my iPad, locate the movie file and copy it to my desktop.
Then, I pick it up from my desktop, drag it to iTunes and drop it on my still connected iPad. This would effectively transfer the video to 'Videos' on the iPad as opposed to the photo album.
iTunes reports that the file cannot be sync'ed because my iPad2 is not capable of playing the file.
WT*?????? This video is created by my iPad2. Surely I must be able to play it back?
Can anyone clarify why this is?
With regards to the why of this procedure: this relates to making videos myself and wanting to watch them on my iPad. There are loads of posts about that, but most of them relate to external videos being sync'ed to the pad. I am experiencing this problem straight with iPad movies themself.
BTW: In the previous version of iTunes (I just upgraded to 10.5) this was no problem at all. Apple, please fix this.

Some people are só quick to reply, even offline.
iTunes 10.5 no longer has Quicktime on board and therefor iTunes *thinks* that your iPad can no longer play it's own video's.
Solution: install Quicktime, reboot (just to be sure) and copy your movie files to your pad. Works like a charm, but isn't that error message from iTunes just a little bit incorrect?

2 ipad2s tried to sync but restored

i tried to sync apps to pc from one daughter's ipad2 to another daughter's iPad2 and hit restore, which i'm pretty sure i wasn't supposed to do. my oldest has been able to restore some stuff, but when we try to facetime her iPad2 (the one that got restored) says "unable to verify email because it is already in use"
Any suggesttions?

I just recently had to restore my iPod, and now all my software is up to date. But now I'm trying to put my music back on there, and it won't work. It looks like it syncs up fine, but my iPod keeps saying that I have no content on it. Can anyone help me figure out what the problem is?

Are you running the latest version of iTunes? Did you already try to remove and reinstall iTunes?
