Ipad2 facetime

I can not log in on facetime and imessage even on the app store using my ipad2. It was working fine eversince and now it is asking me to sign in with my apple account but itkept on verifiying and then return to sign in page......help!

I'm sorry, but unless I am missing something, this makes no sense whatsoever. Why would you be logging into FaceTime and iMessage in the App Store?

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank power On again in the normal way.] It is absolutely/appsolutely safe!

Ipad2 facetime keeps freezing since update ios8.i tried everything

EEver since loading new ios8 software my wife and my ipad2 keeps freezing up on facetime.Keeps saying poor internet connection and camera freezes.I tried everything and my internet provider sent new modem with router built in.Same results.Any ideas or is this an apple problem?

I went to the Apple Store today and the Genius Bar people have confirmed that the problem exist. They even tried to restore as new too but the problem still arise. As they have confirmed that this is a software issue, they are going to pass these details to the software engineering department.
So for now, it looks like we are going to have a broken rear facetime camera

Ipad2 - Facetime. I want 2 separate accounts (work/personal) where the contacts from one wont automatically update on the other.

So I have an Ipad2 that I use for both work and personal. I want to have 2 competely separate accounts. So what I've done so far is created 2 different email addresses and verified them with apple. I can log in under either. Here is my problem, if I log in under my work account and add a contact to my facetime list and then log out and log back in under my personal account it will have updated to include that contact. 1. why is that? am i doing something wrong? how do i stop it? 2. I haven't attempted it yet but I was wondering since the contacts can be updated between the separate accounts does that mean when I'm logged into one account im going to be getting calls from both??

Remove the apps from iTunes with your device connected. You can basically deselect the apps that you don't want on each device. We have three IOS devices on one AppleID and they don't all have the same apps.

Ipad2 facetime problems

I have got the third replacement ipad2. Facetime does not call an ipad2 from UK to USA. If my friend calls me my ipad receives the call and works fine. I end the call and can then call her straight back and it works. It happens with every replacement ipad i have tried. I can call another ipad in the next State USA and that works most times. The problem occures mostly after 9.00 pm UK time when my friend gets home. I know my ISP and the internet are busy at maybe this time, but I can't work out why it works when I receive the first call. This has always happened and I can't seem to find the solution. Any body have any answers? Thanks for your help.

Ipad2 FaceTime rear facing camera poor connection freezes

ever since iOS 8 when on FaceTime the front camera works fine, when i switch to the rear camera it work for about 5-7 seconds than freezes and says poor connection on my recipients side and than i have to go to the front camera. Several iOS 8 updates and this issue is not fixed.

Same problem here. Using a brand new iPad mini on iOS 8 and when i call a iPhone or iPad over wifi the screen freezes with the "Poor connection" message in the middle. If i facetime someone and they are on 3G the connection is fine. I contacted Apple support and after over an hour they still hadnt managed to solve the problem but came up with all sorts of excuses such as "the newer iPads have more pixels" and "the newer iPads are more bandwidth heavy."
I have seen on a U.S. forum that this is being attributed to a software problem but this was not mentioned when i contacted Apple support.

Facetime no audio input

I do not hear audio on Facetime from my wife's macbook. She can communicate with another macbook.

We finally solved it by activating facetime, then look up at the top of your screen you will see Facetime Edit Video Window Help. Click on the Video menu button. Make sure "Internal Microphone" is checked. If "Line In" is checked you won't hear their audio. Do this on the computer that is NOT making the audio. Works like a charm! This is only in facetime. The computer worked fine in all other audio settings but facetime seems to default to "Line In" instead of "Internal Microphone"

IPad 4 FaceTime calling

Can a phone number be listed as a call me on FaceTime instead of an Email address? I have an IPad4

I'm pretty tech savvy and I'm running into the same issue.
I can call from the iPhone 4 to the iPad 2, but vice-versa it fails. The iPad2 facetime app even shows the facetime icon near the iPhone 4 phone number.
It's definitely not user error. There's no reason for it to work one way and not the other.
Both devices are on the same wi-fi network.

Why can't FaceTime find wifi?

After two weeks of use, now my iPad2 FaceTime will not connect to any contact. I get error message saying FaceTime failed, please connect to a wifi network to use FaceTime. Wifi is connected.

If you can't place a FaceTime call to a particular contact, try the following:
Verify that you have the correct phone number or email address.
Use the correct method of contacting the person. If you are calling:
An iPhone 4 user: Use the phone number
An iPad 2, iPod touch, or FaceTime for Mac user: Use the email address
Check that each person has an active Wi-Fi connection.If you are using router, firewall, or security software that restricts Internet access, verify that port forwarding is enabled.
Verify that the date and time are set correctly on your iOS device or Mac.
Have you tried powering your iPad off and on and/or tried an iPad reset?

Can you facetime from imac i5 to an ipad2 using the same apple id on both devices?

i'm pretty sure you can't but before i set up another email address just so i can facetime the ipad2 i thought i'd ask.

no you will need to create a new id for one of the devices because you are not able to facetime yourself with the same id for some reason probably has to do with communication issues but the accounts are free so just create a new account on one of them

Posted this on the iPad page also. I got a ipad2, my husband loves it but too big and bulky, we get him the iPod touch tonight. I set his up using the same apple id because we truly want to share everything, BUT want to be able to message and FaceTime one another. Works fine to begin with, but soon realize that we cant FaceTime using same e-mail, realize I can assign him a different e-mail. do this, doesn't work, so try the trouble shooting on apple support, turn off face time and messaging, because I'm setting it up for both, Somehow it locks me out of message and FaceTime completely, that I had to reset my password, now it will let me login using that apple id, but not allow me to use either my orignal or secondary e-mail that I did verify. FaceTime just keeps sending me back in to the apple id log in screen. I thought no matter what you were able to login on both devices using the same id, but I can't for some reason! Thanks!

I ended up resetting all of the content and settings back to factory standard, then starting over. no issues after that. I'm just glad that we hdan't done too much after purchase!

I just purchase my ipad2 2 days ago. yesterday, there was a sound. today there is no sound. there is a sound only in movies and you tube and music. but no sound on all apps and keyboards. I look it up and seems like ther are few that have this problem. I called walmart coz I bought it there and they told me that they have not heard that before but if I can't fix it, just return it and exchange it with anew one since I have 14 days to do that. I tried rebooting it and still won't work. Should I just restore it?

Here's my story. Have an iPad2, works great, love it. husband loved it too, but big and bulky, he goes with the iPod touch. Tonight we set his up using the same apple id, because we want it to be simple and we truly want to share everything. BUT, we want to be able to FaceTime and message one another. Obviously realized we couldn't when the other was always busy, so I use an addtional e-mail to assign to him. When it didn't take initally, I think ok, I need to turn off iMessage and FaceTime to get them to reset. when I go to log back in, our apple id wasnt recognized and I eventually reset our password as a last ditch effort. That gets me to the next screen, "what e-mail address do I want to use?" I choose the secondary one, but it acts as if it hasn't been verified, but I've checked my settings information and it has been, I've actually deleted and verified it twice now. I even tried the main e-mail address. I've also powered off the touch too. So what am I doing wrong, because at this point I can't even get messages or FaceTime to work on the touch. I do not want to remove my log in from my iPad for fear of it locking me out there as well, but I need help! At a minimum I should be able to get our messages from both devices! Thanks!

I decided to reset the iPod touch to factory new settings and then it worked fine. I have no idea what glitch I came across, but am glad that I can now FaceTime and message with my husband!

Help needed in using Facetime over cellular network on Ipad2 3G IOS6

i updated my Ipad2 3G to IOS6, as they mentioned that i will be able to use facetime over cellular network,
however everytime i try it over the network, it says i must connect through Wifi. any help!!
