IPad2 has wifi issues where others have not
Hi there, I have an iPad 2 that works fine on my wifi network. However, it's behaving different than my iPhone 4. I have 3 Airports Extreme in the house and 1 of them is dying, meaning it drops off the network every few days. A restart brings it back into the network. With 1 Airport down and 2 up, the iPad 2 can't connect to the network where the iPhone 4 has no problem connecting. All Airports have the same list of accepted clients. Out of curiosity: is the wifi architecture of the iPhone 4 superior to the iPad 2? I know, a new Airport will fix this but as I said, I'd like to know if there's difference. Thanks.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

y iPad2 is frozen, I am trying to download the upgrade software but fails after a while, how can I solve the issue. I have not upgraded the iPad 2 since I bought it.
Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode:
1. Turn off iPad
2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
5. Release the Home button
6. Open iTune
7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad -
iTunes Tutorials iwll not play. Using windows XP. All software up to date. I know others have had the same issue, however I have not seen a solution. I appreciate any advice.
I have traced the problem to a corrupted profile. When I captured the images in question, I also used Color Cherckr to create a profile for processing. When I apply that profile to the adjustments I make, I can no longer "Edit In". If I use another profile, even one that I created using Color Checkr at a different point in time, I don't have the issue. Something seems to have corrupted the new profile. I will re-create the profile and see if the issue is resolved.

I have 2 iPads both the sane except for case color. One connects to my home wifi fine, the other will not "join". It finds the wifi name and the little circle turning wheel just spins. I have tried about ten different "fixes" none work.. Reboot, forget wifi, etc.
Unplugged wifi on and on for about an hour.
I have compared settings between the two and cannot see any difference.
Both iPads worked fine last week. One made a trip to MI and used cellular access just fine. Now that one still uses cellular OK, but refuses to "join" the wifi.
Too bad I can't attach a picture.
Anyone care to offer a unique workable solution I have not tried?

WD9HIKHave you tried renewing the lease in the WiFi settings? Settings>WiFi>Your network name>Tap the blue arrow>Renew Lease. If you haven't tried that - try it first before reading the information about restoring the iOS software.
Follow the instructions in here. If you are unsure about anything - do not proceed. Post back with questions first.

Make sure that you transfer all purchases, backup the iPad and sync with iTunes first. When you restore to factory settings, iTunes should ask if you want to backup first, but it will not hurt to initiate a backup on your won before you even start the restore process.

Hello I thought that I had ordered a photo book in aperture this morning but not sure that the order has gone through as I have not had a confirmation email,
t I am currently in canada and trying to get the book sent to Australia. Im not sure if apple is picking up my location and that is having any affect on it?
The AppleID you are using to buy the book, must be tied to the location of the store where you are ordering the book from. Is your AppleID associated with an australian address? And are you placing the order at the Australian store? The Canadian store will not shiptoAustralia, see these policies: http://www.apple.com/internetservices/terms/sales_policies.html
Also set the "Region" in the language & Text preferences to "Australia", while you are ordering.

There are no technical reasons why you can't use them (unless they are some of the few apps that require full phone capability which you won't be able to install). -If you are happy with either using them in an iPhone sized portion of the screen, or with the pixelated 2x size, then use them. I use quite a few apps from my iPhone and iPod Touch, and I've got used to the pixelisation and I don't really notice it as much as I used to.

Is anybody else noticing how slow wifi is, ive still got 3gs, and when i do a comparison the 3gs wifi is so much faster than the brand new iphone 4, this new iphone is so buggy, almost reminds me of the flawed nokia n97, these things just cant be rushed, and it seems to be the case here. Hurry up please apple, and give us our update to resolve these many issues.

My iPhone WiFi speeds have dropped by more than half on my Verizon FiOS home network. (I have all my d/l and u/l speeds logged since June 1st on the speedtest.net app.)
Where I was getting 19MB/s download before I am now only barely getting 8MB/s... My iPad on 3.x is still getting the same speeds (in the region of 20MB/s) on the old OS 3.x.
My MacBook Pro and MacPro are getting 35MB/s upload and download over Ethernet.
Obviously there is no OS 4 for iPad yet, so I am sure that OS 4 is the cause of this. Are there any settings I need to change? What has changed in the system that could affect the performance so drastically? Anyone else experiencing this issue? -
Just purchased an E350 and there are too many addresses in my iPhone to be saved in the E350 address book. Is there a way the car can look up the addresses on my phone instead of trying to download them all? I am checking wtih MB to see if there is a way to increase the capacity on the car for memory, but I doubt it. I have not tried putting in an SD card, but I doubt the address book on the car would overflow to external memory.

Constant WiFi connection issues where other devices are fine. "Sending request..."
I experience the same issues as some other posters here with the MacBook Pro, Lion, and certain networks. All other devices (Android phone, Windows laptop, iPad...) deal with the situation just fine on the same networks. The MacBook however gets its knickers in a twist:
I get perpetual "Sending request..." messages at the status bar of Google Chrome. All applications fail to find internet, despite full bars. This was only an issue since upgrading to Lion. A reboot of the Mac will always solve it, meaning it is not the router. Rebooting the router often does not solve it. Turning WiFi off then on sometimes solves it. Quitting Chrome/Safari sometimes solves it. But rebooting the Mac always solves it. This indicates it is an issue Apple really need to address.
Are there any ideas here? I have made sure there are no DNS entries. I have deleted my home network several times and re-added it. I have hard reset the router, and been through three (that's not a misprint) routers.
I doubt it is a hardware issue with the Mac as it only started with Lion, on the same Mac.Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

So, I am over a friend's house and my iPad 2 keeps dropping the wifi signal? This happens even when I'm close to his router. He's got a new DLink wireless N router, so I don't think it's the router, i think it's my iPad2.
So, what happens is, i go on safari and then the wifi signal drops; a pop up window comes up asking me to select the available wifi networks; I select his and then it say's it can't connect??? I then go to setting turn off the wifi and turn it back on and then his wifi network doesn't show up on the list of available networks??? I have to restart my iPad and then toggle off / on my wifi till I get it to work.
This has been to me last night for about 10 times till I gave up and went to sleep.

thanks!There are several D-Link routers with the designation Wireless N so the situation is a bit ambiguous.
I suspect that his router doesn't have the latest firmware and this may be the source of the problem. Note that just because a router is "new" doesn't mean that its firmware is up-to-date. It could well be the initial release firmware version. There could also be a problem with the configuration of his router (see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4199 and http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3727)
If you suspect problems with your iPad test it on some other networks to rule out issues with it. -

The message has nothing to do with low disk space.
There is excessive swapping of data between physical memory (that is, the memory chips on the logic board) and virtual memory (one or more files on the startup volume.) That activity is relatively slow and causes the whole system to be less responsive. It can happen for two reasons:
A long-running process with a memory leak (a kind of bug)
Not enough memory for your usage pattern
Tracking down a memory leak can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination.
These instructions are for OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks.") The procedure may be slightly different for earlier versions of OS X.
When you notice the swap activity, open the Activity Monitor application and select All Processes from the View menu, if it's not already selected. Select the Memory tab. Click the heading of the Real Mem column in the process table twice to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If you don't see that column, select
View ▹ Columns ▹ Real Memory
from the menu bar.
If one process (excluding "kernel_task") is using much more memory than all the others, that could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that continually grabs more and more real memory over time without ever releasing it. Here is an example of how it's done.
The processes named "Safari Web Content" render web pages for Safari. They use a lot of memory and may leak if certain Safari extensions or third-party web plugins are installed. Consider them prime suspects.
Another process often implicated in memory leaks is "inkjet4" or "inkjet8," which is a component of the HP printing software. If it's present, force-quit the process in Activity Monitor to solve the problem temporarily. Empty the print queues in the Printers & Scanners preference pane (which has a slightly different name in each recent version of OS X.) If you don't use an HP printer, remove the software. Otherwise, if the problem is recurrent, update the software (which may not help) or contact HP support.
"Wired" memory should be a small part of the total. That memory is not swapped, but it makes less physical memory available which may then result in swapping. If you have a lot of wired memory, that's usually an indication of a memory leak in a third-party program that modifies the operating system at a low level. Ask for guidance in that case.
If you don't have an obvious memory leak, your options are to install more memory (if possible) or to run fewer programs simultaneously.
The next suggestion is only for users familiar with the shell. For a more precise, but potentially misleading, test, run the following command:
sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total
where process is the name of a process you suspect of leaking memory. Almost every process will leak some memory; the question is how much, and especially how much the leak increases with time. I can’t be more specific. See the leaks(1) man page and the Apple developer documentation for details.

From FlexExamples March 8, I am trying to use the TileList and custom itemRenderer. The only change I have made to the code is change the "main" app too a component, as part of a View Stack. I have imported the original code into my application and h
