Ipad2 HDMI to TV

Hi everyone,
I'm having a few problems tring to hook up my Ipad2 to my Hitachi 42" LCD HDTV
Everytime I try I almost get a picture but I am left with a mostly blank screen with just a flicker of a picture at the top. The same thing happens with my Wii console but my Virgin Media HDTV box and my Blu Ray player both display without any problem.
As it's happening to the Ipad2 and the Wii I guess it's a problem with the settings on the tv itself but whatever I try I cant seem to find anything that works!
Any ideas what's causing the problem and how I might be able to fix it?

I wonder if there is a firmware update available for your Hitachi TV? Later TV models seem to include USB interfaces, and some have Internet connectivity!

I can certainly have a look into your printer problems with you, but for the PC issues I would recommend posting those under the notebook or desktop threads for assistance with the PC issues.
I was just wondering, are you looking for assistance with your Photosmart B209a, or have you trashed it and moved on to the Photosmart 7525?

Accessory not supported by ipad - ipad2 HDMI connector will not work with ipad (4th gen)

I am a bit frustrated with the fact that I purchased all of the adapters/connectors for my iPad 2 back in the day - and now all are pretty much worthless with the iPad (4th gen.)
The iPad g4 uses the new lightning connector. OK. So, I bought the updated adapter (lightning to 30 pin). HOWEVER, it does not allow the Apple HDMI connector to work... "This accessory is not supported by iPad"
I have to buy yet ANOTHER adapter: the Lightning Digital AV Adapter, and drop $49.00???
RIDICULOUS!

Can movies play at 1080

I read this in the HDMI dongle
"Mirroring supported only by iPad 2 and iPhone 4S.
Video out supports up to 1080p for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S and up to 720p for iPad, iPhone 4 and iPod touch (4th generation). Movies play at up to 720p."

Now dose this mean that even if I get this that I still can't play my movies at 1080p off my iPad2?

No, because the iPad 2 supports 1080 Video Out. It's the original iPad limited to 720.
Note that the Mirroring feature will not produce 1080p. Video out is referring to connections to the tv from the 30 pin Apple connector at the bottom of the iPad.

I worked out I can get visual from HDMI 3 and no picture.

IPad2 won't output through HDMI

It seems ipad2 device doesn't know what to do with it
It doesn't output video or sound to HD TV.
Once in a while, it does output for 2 seconds and the screen goes back to black and can't get the signal, although, on ipad screen, it's saying that the video is playing on the TV connected which isn't.
Cables work fine with iphone4 so they're not the problem.
I tried change video setting to PAL or NTSC.
I tried various applications and formats like flexplayer, youtube, podcast videos, mp4, avi.
Can anyone help me?

It was because of a faulty connector.
Don't buy cheap HDMI converter for iPad from ebay.
I worked with iPhone4 though.
I'm using AV Adapter bought from Apple.
It works fine.

Whoever told you Elements 3 won't work in Leopard was simply wrong. It does. Elements 2 and Photoshop 7 will not work, Elements 3 and Photoshop CS1 will both work. My understanding is that the code for both the non-working ones was a kludge of the original code built for the Classic Mac OS to get it to run natively in OS X, and, since Leopard no longer supports Classic code in any way neither PS 7 nor Elements 2 will work, ever. Don't know whether that theory about the code is correct or not, but it sounds sorta reasonable. But whether that is the explanation is irrelevant: Elements 2 and PS 7 do not work in Leopard.
Why not do what I'm going to do: get off Adobe's gravy train. I'm going to buy Elements 6 when it comes out (which is about half what it costs to upgrade my CS1 to CS3), and spend some more quality time with the GIMP. No more upgrades of Photoshop for me.

My HDMI adapter can't charge my iPad2.

While I'm presenting my screen on TV or not presenting things, I can't charge my iPad via this HDMI adapter. I've already tried the new HDMI cable bought from Apple store but it still can't be charged. I've also tried with another iPad2 but i got the same result.
When I plug in the power cable to HDMI adapter, power gets in only a few seconds then gone. Any recommendations on this.
NOTE: I also went to store and staff tried my adapter and everything is OK.

Well, same issue here. Just unpacked and connected the Apple's original HDMI adapter to iPad2, no charging.
I mean this is the adapter that has HDMI and old (30pin) connector for charging.
The reason why that is not able to charge is connection problem.
Try to "play" with the connector, bend it a little and it starts charging. As soon as you let it go, it disconnects.
Also, the adapter gets warm - why is that?
Well I couldn't believe Apple designs and sells such crap. Sadly it's true.

Is it possible to Skype to tv via ipad2 using hdmi adapter? I'm caring 4 my 94 yr old father who has low vision & was hoping we could buy the hdmi adapter to use Skype on his larger screen tv. I have been using Skype iPad connected to a nearby monitor via HDMI for about a year. Video is mirrored but, with the HDMI adapter, sound is only on the monitor. Recently, I have started having jitter in the sound on about four out of five calls. Cannot tell if the call will be alright until it is answered. If I restart the call enough times, I can make it go away. If I unplug the (iPad to) HDMI adapter, the sound is clear. Re-installing the Skype app did not help. Any ideas? Any hope?

I want to use Keynotes, and mirror iPad Apps onto the projector.
I will provide various students with iPad2 devices and let them interact with the lesson as well.
Is this possible with Keynotes, and is there another option to regarding the connection to the projector?
At this stage I need to buy a Apple HDMI Adapter ($39), Apple TV ($129), and HDMI to VGA converter ($149). So $319 to get a wireless connection to my projector.
Does anyone have other options ?

I believe the only devices you need to achieve a wireless iPad 2 mirroring experience on a display is an Apple TV 2. When iOS 5 comes out in a few weeks the iPad 2 will have full bore wireless mirroring using the Apple TV 2. The Apple TV 2 outputs an HDMI signal so if your display has HDMI inputs you're home free. However, you like me (I am also a teacher), have the nasty problem that our classroom projectors only accept a VGA input (probably composite too). That Apple TV 2 is sending an encrypted HDMC signal to your projector via it's HDMI cable. So, you need a HDMI to VGA converter that can overcome this encryption. I just bought a HD Fury 3 HDMI to VGA converter that has a chip in it to deal with the HDCP encryption. Sadly, I just hooked this system up in my classroom and it doesn't work. I posted this information in the other thread you started asking about this same issue. One of our school's tech personal is going to see if he can resolve this but I am not optimistic. There are many posts in other forums that claim great success with the Fury 3. If anyone has some insight regarding this I'd love to hear it. My projector is a new Epson short throw projector. It cost somewhere in the range of $1600 - $2000. Sorry, can't remember the specific model off hand. Anyway, even though it has no HDMI inputs, it is not a cheap projector.

Not sure you can on an older model TV.
You can connect via a cable or wireless using an Apple TV.

HDMI Output to TV from iPad2

Hello,
I am trying to view an iPad2 photo album slide show on my late 2010 Sharp HD TV. I have Apple's HDMI adapter and a Belkin HDMI cable. The cable package says it suport 1080P HD format. The Sharp TV has extra HDMI input ports on the side.
When I hook up the iPad2, adapter, and cable to the HD TV, the TV does not see the iPad. I've looked at the TV manual and it appears that I have done the right thing with the hook up. Is there a step I am missing? Do I need an app for this?   When I hook up the iPad2, the Photo app is on and set to the album I want to display on the TV
I've also looked at settings on the iPad2. Video is ON and sent to NTSC but I don't think that is important since I am not trying to stream video.   I tried this with the iPad's power charger connected to be sure it had power and that did not help.
Does anyone have experience and success in doing what I am attempting to do?   Thanks in advance for your advice.

Yes, but when I use the TV input control to select the iPad2 it does not show anything present in the HDMI port where I inserted the cable.
