Ipad2 is having issues with Apple's Apps

My Ipad2 first had issues with a blank screens when I opened my reminders. Two weeks later the same thing has happened with my address book. I see the edees/"form" of each app, but absolutely no writing what so ever. I un did them from icould but that didn't help. I would just erase the ipad and start over but I would lose my work files and more importantly I think its an internal issue. If one goes, then another, I may have serious problems. Any ideas?

Do you backup your iPad? Have you tried restoring from a backup? If you do restore from a backup, you restore everything in that backup onto the iPad and it returns to the way it was on the date of that backup.
Your work files ...do you back those up somehow? Do you use file sharing to transfer them to iTunes? Or use DropBox and send them to your computer? If you have the files backed up. You could restore to factory settings and then restore from the backup and see if that helps.
Do you have problems with all of the preinstalled apps?
EDIT - OK ... What was the obvious thing that you overlooked?

OS Update 10.9.1 did NOT fix Gmail syncing issues with Apple Mail App?

Is it just me? Or is anyone else having the same issues of gmail still NOT syncing accross iPad and Mac Mail app in spite of the "update/fix" to OS? My mail on my three Macs and one iPad are still never synced corrctly. When I try "syncronize all mail boxes" in the mail app of the mac, it does not work.
I look directly at my Gmail online thorugh Safari on the Google site and see I have 2 emails in my IN box. Yet on one Mac it has 15 (13 of ehcih were deleted several hours ago). On another Mac it has 18. On the iPad it has it right as that is where I begain looking at end editing email today.
Any ideas?

Is anyone else having issues with uploading imovie app videos to youtube?

hello everyone one. im scared as heck for posting in here because im honestly afraid all the smart people in here will eat my eyes for ju-ju bees, however here it goes, and thank you to anyone brave enough to help. I've just had the iphone 4s for over a week. as of today, i can not upload any of the imovie app movies to youtube, which was a huge selling feature for me, so i could post video testimonials on the run and not be so invisable on the weekends as a musician. "ive been invisable on social media on weekends as long as ive even known about facebook, and I know its been hurting me."
my first two videos, uploaded without a hitch to facebook and you tube. of course a larger one had to wait until i got home to wifi bc it was too big. anyhow, this morning, my new one made it up to facebook, but a you tube upload has failed 5 times already, and this is upsetting.. only being a musician, taking this step to having a data plan and iphone was a huge risk, but i planned on maxing out what i could from the phone to make it even easier to support my family..
any ideas? please keep in mind im not a teckie, and cant even synch it up to my 5 year old laptop yet... ill be taking an hour trip to the apple store soon to do that.....

If the iTunes window is not loading properly, I would try closing all the apps that are running:
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.

Anyone else out there having issues with Apple TV loading movies and tv shows?

Taking FOREVER to load a tv show on the cloud...like 30 minutes. When I rent a movie it says it's going to take 8 hours. My internet provider says everything is ok on my end. I'm able to stream Hulu and Netflix through my Apple TV with no lag. Just taking forever when accessing Apple content. Had this problem last night as well and finally got better around 11pm.

I'm having vey similar problems. I can't stream anything from iTunes, YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, etc. Mirroring isn't working and neither is photo stream. I'm logged into my account correctly and streaming using other devices is working just fine. My network download speed is comfortably over 10 Mbps. I've restarted my ISP provided modem, both of my routers, and the AppleTV more than once. I've also reset the AppleTV but no difference.
I recently updated AppleTV to 5.1.1 and used Photo stream since then, but this is the first tie I've tried the other things. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have not setup a fresh install of Premiere Elements lately (but I am in the process of doing that now for some special troubleshooting on another matter) so I am going on my recollection of SmartSound functionality in a fresh install on a computer that has never seen SmartSound. I am an Elements Windows user. What is your computer operating system?
My recollection is nothing to do in the way of SmartSound to download, just open Premiere Elements and click on the SmartSound feature and open as per screen instructions. So, I do not see how a setup.exe file enters into the picture. So, I ask
a. Are you trying to find and use the free soundtracks that come with Premiere Elements SmartSound feature?
or
b. Are you in the process of buying additional SmartSound soundtracks from within the feature in Premiere Elements?
In my Windows 7 or 8 64 bit, the major SmartSound folders and files are (remember to have Folder Options Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active)

the Common Data Folder in the Smart Sound Software Folder contains among other things the ReadMe.txt file..

Having issues with one particular app

This is really annoying. I downloaded Scanner Pro a while ago, and am trying to get it synced back onto my phone. The problem began last night when I plugged my phone into the computer to update a playlist. ITunes complained it couldn't read the contents of my phone so I had to restore it. I did that and it complained that the computer wasn't authorized to run one or more of my apps. Since it was very late last night, I decided to put it asside and pick it back up today. Sync apps was checked on the summary tab of the phone, but none of the apps were syncing. I went to the apps tab and checked the first several apps. Scanner Pro was the 10th app on the list of aapps. The first 9 went without a hitch, and the last several appear to be going smoothly as well. However, when I check the box for Scanner Pro, ITunes freezes, and the only way that seems to work to get it unfrozen is to disconnect the phone. Note I haven't applied the settings yet so no data is being transfered through the cable yet. How can I get this app to copy to the phone?

Have no idea what the issue was, but after much time spent, I managed to get the issue resolved. For some reason the computer was lagging quite significantly, then the sync got hung up, so I had to abbort the sync and try again. Now comes the time-consuming process of getting all my apps back into there folders.

Your iBookG4 is still a pretty awesome Mac. Like already said, it has the power to run Leopard, but it depends if you have an internal DVD drive.
Then I suppose you have to add up the cost of the OS, perhaps another 512MB RAM, iLife 08 and replacements for any favourite apps that you currently use (Leopard breaks a lot of stuff, but Intel breaks even more). Compare it to the cost of a new MacBook, which wil have all of that included and be 3-4x faster too.
It also depends on what you want to achieve with your iBook. My PMG4 still cuts it today, I still use it in preference to my new Mac Pro, It's about the same age as your iBook, and I'll only stop using it when it becomes "painfully" slow. My 1 year old son currently uses the Mac Pro (parts for a Mac Pro are easier to replace than those for a PMG4).
I think your choice is simple, if you can a cheap copy of Tiger, use that, it'll get your iPod Touch up and running. It came in DVD and 4 CD version (by request).
Leopard will work for you too but a lot of the best eye-candy requires quite a meaty graphics card and you may need a RAM upgrade and replacement software - OS9 Classic is not supported in Leopard.

My Apple TV drops out when my iMac isn't connected to wifi yet my TV is connected to wifi. Also having issues with losing settings on Home Sharing as well. How do I fix these issues?

Whether I'm watching a movie purchased via my Apple TV or a movie stored on my iTunes app on my iMac I'm having constant issues with Apple TV either cutting out (randomly - not related to wifi) or not being able to access the 'My Computer' files when my iMac drops out the wifi connection because its in power saving mode. I also have issues with 'Home Sharing' settings having to be reset and sometimes having to unplug the Apple TV power cord and plugging it back in to be able to successfully reset these settings so I can get back to watching whatever it was I was viewing on Apple TV. My TV is connected to wifi as well so I'm wondering if there are any changes I can make in the settings of both my Apple TV and iMac or TV so that I can just select whatever it is I want to watch and be able to watch the entire movie or episode without it dropping out or having to keep flicking the mouse on the iMac to keep the computer connected to wifi? I love Apple products generally but Apple TV is proving to be a pain in the a**e lately. Hopefully someone can help me sort these issues out

Intermittent issues will point to a local network/wifi issue.
Reboot ATV and router, make sure both are up to date
Try ethernet
The home sharing connection will cut out if the iMac goes to sleep.

I just started having this yesterday. It's only happened twice, but it's annoying. My wife texted me that she was coming home last night, and it showed up immediately on my iPod Touch but not my iPhone. I opened my iPhone and it soon updated. Worked fine after that. Then just a moment ago today my wife texted me and the same thing happened. I heard my iMac and iPod Touch receive the message but it didn't display on my phone until I opened the phone and it showed up again a little bit thereafter. I suppose I'll send Apple some feedback on this issue.

There are several possible causes for this issue. Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried until it's resolved. Some may not be apply in your case.
1. Follow the instructions in this support article, and also this one, if applicable. A damaged or defective AC adapter could be the cause, even if it's the right kind.
2. Open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and delete all pointing devices other than the trackpad, if applicable. Disconnect any USB pointing devices. By a "pointing device," I mean a peripheral that moves the cursor, such as a trackpad, mouse, trackball, or graphics tablet. A plain keyboard is not a pointing device.
3. Start up in safe mode and test, preferably without launching any third-party applications. If you don't have the problem in safe mode, but it comes back when you restart as usual, stop here and post your results. Do the same if you can't start in safe mode. If there was no difference in safe mode, go on to the next step.
4. Reset the System Management Controller.
5. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.
6. A swollen battery in a portable computer can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced without delay.
7. Press down all four corners of the trackpad at once and release. If there's any effect, it's likely to be temporary, and the unit needs to be serviced or replaced.
8. There's a report that a (possibly defective) Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter can cause the built-in trackpad of a MacBook to behave erratically. If you're using such an adapter, disconnect it and test.
9. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.
10. If none of the above applies, or if you have another reason to think that your computer is being remotely controlled, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi (or your Wi-Fi access point), disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop at once, you should suspect an intrusion.
11. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine and/or external trackpad tested.

So, about a week ago my macbook pro started having lots of issues: wifi connectivity, slow performance, sound issues, spotlight wasn't working. After going through the issues with apple support, they decided the best course of action was to erase it...

After going through the issues with apple support, they decided the best course of action was to erase the hard drive and do a reinstall. Since I have a recent backup this seemed like a good enough option. They were kind enough to send me a copy of the snow leopard disk to do the install since we couldn't get it to complete through the disk utility. Not sure why, since it says we are fully connected, it just never completed.
Anyway, so now that you have the background here is the new issue. The macbook pro keeps spitting out the disk I'm trying to install from. Disk utility and using the 'Startup Disk' function from the apple menu doesn't read the disk.
Can anyone suggest a solution to this vexing problem?
