Ipad2 mail

My ipad2 mail is receiving mail with no sender, no content, and all are dated 12//31/69. I cannot delete them either.. Anyone know what' going on?

I would say the first thing to check would be the "Push" settings on your iPad.
Go into the Settings app on your iPad.
Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
Select "Fetch New Data"
Ensure you see "ON" highlighted in blue to the right of "Push" at the top of the pane.
This should make your iPad Mail account(s) reflect what is on your Email server, to include folders, old messages, etc. If it does not and your device is still inside your 90-day software support or under the extended Apple Care you may have purchased, consult an Apple Genius here, or go by an Apple Store (you can usually get free advice there if you're willing to make the trip) and grab a stool at the Genius Bar.
Good luck!

When I send a photo directly from iPhoto using the Mail app on my iMac, the wrong photo appears on my iPad2 Mail app.  However the correct photo shows if I log into gmail on the iPad2.  I assume there is a glitch with my "Mail" app on the iPad2?  Any suggestions for getting the correct photo to show on iPad2?

Update:  I was able to have the correct photo show in my email as received on my iPad2 by changing a setting on my IMac prior to sending the photo on the email.
On the iMac, I went into iPhoto > Preferences > Email photos using > Mail (in lieu of "iPhoto").  This seems to have corrected the issue.  I'm not sure why.  Now the correct photo shows up when received on my iPad2.

  • Yahoo works on iPhone mail but not iPad2 mail

I have an Mac, Google and a Yahoo mail account.  The Mac and Google work on the MBP, iPad2 and iPhone with both the mail app and via Safari log in.  Yahoo works on the MBP and iPhone via Mail and Safari but does not work on the iPad2 via the Mail App but wil work on the iPad2 via Safari.  I have deleted the account from my iPad2 and tried to reinstall it but i keep getting a message that the "Server is not available, please try again later".  This is the same error message I got from my iPad Mail app before I tried deleting the Yahoo account and reinstalling it.  This problem started about a week ago.  The only added App was an EMail Client on the MBP - Inky.
MBP is on 10.8.2, OS X Safari is 6.0.2, iPhone & iPad2 are on IOS 6.0.1,
Any ideas would be appreciated,  Thanks,
    Bill

I just found this. It worked for me and I was getting the same error message as you.   https://charlesshearnontech.wordpress.com/2012/12/26/ipad-ios6-yahoo-mail-doesnt -work-missing-password-error-message/

  • I configured my iPad2 mail with my current settings. Now my Apple Mail on my Macbook Pro won't accept the password, which I did NOT change. I am running latest Snow Leopard on the Macbook. ANy help?

After configuring my Ipad2 to accept mail at my .me account, I can no longer get my MacBook pro Apple Mail to accept the passwrod.
I did not chnage the password when configuring iPad2 and it works perfectly.
Using 10.6.8 and iPad is running most current update.

Since I upgraded the hardware myself - the warranty that covers the computer is basically nulled.
Warranty is not made void by upgrading memory or storage. If you have AppleCare then you should be fine.
Disk Utility is powerful, but not the most powerful tool out there. There might be other applications (sometimes expensive) that can fix the volume. If your Windows partition works but not the Mac partiiton that leads me to believe the issue is solvable.
Can you read the Mac files from your Windows partition?

  • My iPad2 mail works well except...

My iPad2 works well. Mail recieves and sends fine EXCEPT I cannot send to a few select contacts. When I try I get the usual "Relay eror message". Again, 90% of my contacts do not generate this eror message. Also, I can send to these contacts fine from iphone and mac laptop. Any suggestions what to do with the iPad?
I was hoping not to have to tote this iPad2 and my laptop with me around town all the time. Thank you.

  • IPAD2 Mail crash

I use the IPAD2 for reading my mail when on the road and I like to use it to type email responses however I find the mail app crashing a lot when I am in the middle of typing a reply. mail just quits and I lose whatever I was typing. This occurs very frequently, to the point where I nolonger use the iPAD anymore toreply to mail when on the corporate VPN. This is quite bad and I hope to see a fix from Apple to this problem.
Has anyone suffered from this problem? Is there a way to work around it?
    Thanks.
    D.

You could try quitting the contacts app and see if that helps.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus (-) sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
You could also try toggling Contacts off and on in the iCloud settings - Settings>iCloud>Contacts. I don't know if that will do any good at all. There have been other users that have reported crashes with Contacts, the Calendar, Mail and the entire Settings App as well since the update to iOS 5.
The only real fix that I have seen for this on the discussion site is to restore your iPad as a new device and then sync all of your content back onto the iPad "piece by piece" - carefully and methodically to see if there is an app or something else that is causing the issue.

  • Ipad2 Mail has blank screen

I have had no problems with my iPad2 until the recent IOS8 downloads.
My Mail has disappeared completely this evening (the screen is blank as per the photo) but still but the home screen tells me there is mail. I have quit the app, it still didn't work. I restarted the iPad, it still didn't work. I did a hard reset, guess what. I did a factory reset, guess what. It's backed up to iCloud and my pc.
Can anyone advise me please on what to do next? Thank you.

What type of mail account is this (POP, IMAP, .Mac)?
Does this account allow web access? Have you checked whether the messages are still on the server?
I was helping a friend with a mail problem on her laptop
    Which problem?
There is no inbox in the copy of the mail folder she made.
Which Mail folder did she copy? The one in /Library/ or the one in ~/Library/?
I found the cached messages folder
Not sure what you mean here either. What exactly did you find where?
    More info, please.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.

  • Ios 7 ipad2 mail issues

since downloading ios 7 onmy ipad 2 ,it continues to download emails back in time i am now getting emails from nov. 2013 .can not stop it .any hints out there?

    Hey JRinNh,
Thanks for the question. It sounds like you are having trouble accessing your Gmail account. The following article may help to resolve your issue:
iOS: Gmail account will not connect to Gmail server
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3058
    Resolution
    1. Check that your device is connected to the Internet by opening Safari and loading a webpage, such as google.com. If you cannot connect to the Internet, try the steps in this article.
    2. If you have other email accounts on the device, check if those accounts can send and receive email.
    3. If the issue is isolated only to the affected Gmail account, visit this website: https://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha.
Complete the form to unlock the account.
    4. If the issue persists, follow this Google support article.
    5. Once the account has been unlocked, or the correct password entered, check that the issue is resolved. If not, remove the affected Gmail account from the device and add it to the device again: Settings > Mail, Contacts and Calendars > Add Account > Gmail.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Ipad2 mail messed up since 6.0

Since upgrading to 6.0 my mail is very unreliable, sometimes none at all. Is there a fix?

Yes, like Yahoo mail, Gmail, comcast, etc.
    Are you using Yahoo mail?
You might want to try deleting your mail account on your iPad and reinstalling it.

  • When I check usage in my iPad 2, Mail shows it is using 2G.  Removing all emails (sent, trash, etc) it is still using 1.9G.  Is this normal?

When I check usage on my iPad2, Mail shows it is using 2G.  When I remove all emails (sent, trash, etc) it shows Mail is still using 1.9G.  Is this normal?

When you do an upgrade, sometimes the pad goes back to the isp server for the unread count.  These are likely old e mails that you never opened, and are so far down the list that they dont make it to your oad.  In any event - go to the mail server via safari or on a computer and use webmail.  You can find those emails there and delete them -

  • All of my mail accounts keep going and staying offline

Any ideas.  I've talked to two others who this is also happening...

I have been having the same problem for about the past 2 months using mail 4.4 on OS 10.6.6. Its been working fine for a couple of years without a hitch until now. I have about 10 different email addresses all hosted on the same reseller server. Each time there is a timed 'get mail' various accounts go offline and then come back online later, sometimes after a minute or so, some after an hour.
A similar thing is also happening on my iphone4 and ipad2 - 'mail server....... not responding'. This also seems to randomly alternate between various accounts.
My ISP has looked into it and cant find a problem but I think that this is because they cant replicate the problem. They suggested it might be a router/network issue but the problem still happens regardless of wifi being switched off. I have tried a Telnet test and all seems Ok.
Very frustrating as I sometimes have to wait for over an hour for an email to come in that is urgent.

  • E-mail connection server often lost

Sometimes my boss iPad2 mail stop syncing and send me a message "Unable to connect to the server".
If I change something in the mail configuration (for example some description) and save, the mail restart syncing.
If I turn off and turn on the iPad2 the mail start syncing.
I also notice that, in the same wi-fi area and with the same mail server, my iPad mail work without any problem. The mail configuration are the same of my boss iPad2.
    Can you help me please?

Normally a new device on a BES would require a new activation to the BES, and a new password from the BES Admin, however they are all set differently with varying permission--and BES is not my forte anyway. But in moving your information and preferences from the old device to the new, via Desktop Manager, you could have transferred the settings.
You will speak to Vodafone about the BES account. If you require BES, you will probably need a hosted provided for the service, like ExchangeMyMail. http://www.exchangemymail.com/index.asp
Look at your new device > Options > Security > General Settings > at **services** do you see any named IT Policy?

  • How can I teach iPad2 to recognize my name instead of breaking it into two words?

How can I teach iPad2 mail to recognize my name instead of breaking it into two words or changing it into something completely different?  I am not Britain or Brit a.

Everyone say this, and it is simply not true.  I just filled a page in Notes with 'for', fighting my iDumbPad from replacing it with 'fir'.  A whole page and it learned NOTHING!  How many times do you think I use 'for' in a day on three devices?

  • Sync gmail sent items

    Hi,
i recently setup Gmail IMAP on my IPAD2, like Google said in it's docs, and noticed that I have 2 folders of "Sent Items" on my Ipad2 Mail app and both are empty, both return empty searches when i try to search in them, and both say: Updated : 11-09-14 4:05pm (now)
    - when i send an email from my ipad2 i can see it form my desktop but not from sent items on ipad2...
    any ideas?

as a temporary work arounds, two possible solutions:
    (1) activate "always bcc myself" on the iphone. move the sent email to "inbox" on iphone.
    (2) physcially move sent emails on the iphone from the sent items folder to inbox. on Mail.app, move the sent emails from "inbox" to "sent items".
    any other solutions?
