Ipad2 no longer mirroring to apple tv

I was able to mirror my iPad 2 on the tv using apple tv. However, now when I double click the home button on the iPad 2 the apple tv option no longer appears despite the fact that both devices are connected to my home wireless network. I'd appreciate advice on how to fix this?

Problem fixed after a lot of trial and error - not sure exactly what worked.

  • After ios7 update my iPad will no longer mirror to Apple TV

We updated our iPad to ios7 and now mirroring to Apple TV will not work. How can we fix it so we can use the mirroring function again ?

If you don't see the AirPlay icon:
    1. Turn off router, Apple TV and iPad
    2. Turn on router and then wait 30 seconds for it to complete start-up process
    3. Turn on Apple TV and then wait 30 seconds for it to complete start-up process
    4. Turn on iPad (wait 30 seconds) and test AirPlay

  • HT5457 My iPad 2 is no longer mirrored on my tv since ios6 update.

Why does my ipad2 no longer mirror to my tv using hdmi adapter?  This happened after I updated to ios6.

Only the iPad 3 & 4 support mirroring to a Apple TV.
The iPad 2 only supports video out to the Apple TV IF the specific app you're using allows it.

  • Why does the hdmi adapter(purchased from apple for $40) no longer mirror my iPad 2?

Why does the hdmi adapter(purchased form Apple for $40) no longer mirror my ipad 2?  If ios6 prevents this, will they return my money?

Does this involve iPhoto in any way? I believe you need to post in a different forum - and since these are strictly uuser to user forums answers about what Apple does or will do are not likely nor reliaible - you need to contact Apple for Apple answers

  • Ipad 3 with ios6 can not find airplay mirror to Apple TV 3 , but my another ipad2 with ios7 can do it. But ipad 3 with ios6 can airplay mirror to my friend's apple tv

I have two iPads . One is ipad 3 with ios 6, can not find airplay-Mirror to Apple TV 3 . But it can do it at my friend' s Apple TV.
My another ipad 2 with ios7 can airplay -mirror at my Apple TV 3 .
My ipad 3 64GB already full, so I don't delegate something to upgrade  to ios7 .
I am wondering why it can do it at my friend's Apple TV, not mine

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    Restart your mobile device.

  • After upgrade to Mavericks, AppleTV no longer mirrors my mid-2012 Macbook Pro's accessibility zooming.

Prior to Mavericks upgrade, I had accessibilty zooming enabled using the control hotkey with two-finger scroll.
The zoom effect would be duplicated in AppleTV and transmitted to an overhead projector in my classroom.
This feature is very useful for directing student's attention to a particular region of the screen.
However after the upgrade, AppleTV no longer mirrors the zooming effect.
I can see the zoom on the laptop, just not on my projector.
I can see zooming on the projector if I use the VGA adapter and plug directly into projector.
    Laptop:
    mid-2012 Macbook Pro
    OS X 10.9
    8gb RAM
    2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
Have tried variety of displays settings and none work including:
--selecting best for display or AppleTV
    --changing the resolution
    AppleTV
    model: MD199LL/A
    software: 6.0 (6646.65)
resolution: 1024x768 60hz (my projector requires this)
    Projector:
    HP vp6320
I use an HDMI to VGA/Audio adapter to convert to VGA for my projector.
I seem to recall that overscan correction was an option to set under Mountain Lion, but I can't find that when doing a Spotlight search in System Preferences. Not sure if that would help or not but thought I'd mention it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Same problem. Zoomed image will not show on the Apple TV screen even though it does show on your laptop or desktop.
I tried every aspect of System Preferences>Displays and Accessibility. None worked. Problem was presented to an Apple Specialist on his Mavericks computers and his Apple TV. Same thing. He said this appears to be a Mavericks glich and immediately went to transmit the problem to Cupertino.
A poor "work around" is to use System Preferences>Accessibility and under Zoom, select Zoom Style "Picture-inPicture" which will result in a "zoom box." The box can be scaled to a desired size and activated with the Control-Scroll motion. This box will display zoomed on the Apple TV screen. The default Zoom Style selection "Fullscreen" did not and will not show on the Apple TV screen even though it does show on your laptop or desktop
The problem: the zoomed "magnified" image loses resolution and if zoomed far enough, becomes "pixilated."
 Apple needs to fix this or tell us how to go back to the earlier Control-Zoom which I think the "Fullscreen" was intended.

    Hello,
Where may I be able to contact and speak with a prepaid representative? Strictly through phone calls? (I am at work 12 hours a day)
And I apologize for posting in the wrong area - I saw Apple support so I went here.
I'm almost certain my phone is the problem. I have gone through resetting the network settings a dozen times on my phone, even did it on my dad's. Now my texts are beginning to do the same when I text my fiance.
Resetting the network settings DOES work -- the problem is it will work for a day or two or for only a few hours - then I'll have to do it all over again.

  • Ios6 mirror to apple tv

Since installing iOS6.1 I can no longer mirror my iphone to my apple tv. Previously you would double click the home button and swiped until you reached the volume bar. You could then select any airplay device, and if it was an apple tv you could mirror your device.
With the new iOS6.1 it only shows a new volume bar and all other features are gone.
    Anyone know a workaround?
    EDIT -- Feature is working
Took several restarts of iphone and feature reappeared.

  • TS3367 FaceTime texting no longer mirroring on devices

Just changed my Apple ID password and it has now stopped mirroring text messages on my iPad and iPhone devices. It is one or the other now.  It is not a big deal but I am communicating with someone overseas and it is nice to keep the same conversation going independent of what device I am on. It just seemed to have changed since I changed my password - still working ok but no longer mirroring. Any idea why it has it changed - I liked it the way it was?

Try signing out of your Apple ID on all of your devices, then sign back in and see if that works....

  • Lightning AV Adapter no longer mirrors screen in iOS 8

i just updated my iphone 5 to iOS 8 and the Lightning AV adapter no longer 'mirrors' the phone screen in my television (black screen), yet still shows video perfectly when played. I am assuming this is a bug with iOS 8 as it worked perfectly before updating from iOS 7.1.2.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds). No data will be lost.

  • Macbook Air mirroring to Apple TV

After upgrading to OS X Yosemite my Macbook Air will no longer mirror to my apple TV.  I just get a black screen on my TV and an error message on my Macbook.  Does anyone have any idea what I can do to solve this problem.
My phone and Ipads still mirror, so it is something to do with my Macbook Air.

    Follow up:
Ran Airplay with just a Finder window open.  No cursor problem.
Ran a video in iTunes with Airplay.  Cursor was displaced about 4 inches to the left. For example in Text Edit, clicking on Text Edit in the MenuBar droped the Help Menu. I was able to access the Airplay menu by clicking in the Menubar four inches to the left of the Airplay icon, and turned it off. The cursor behaviour was immediately corrected.
Ran the same video directly using QuickTime player. Same result … displaced cursor.
Ran the same video directly using VLC player. Same result … displaced cursor.
Went to Display Preferences … selected Apple TV and Best for AirPlay. Ran same video … no cursor problem.
Went back to previous settings and have not been able to reproduce the problem. Go figure!
If you still have the problem, I would suggest opening Display Preferences and make sure that the Airplay Mirroring/Apple TV and Resolution/Best for AirPlay options are selected. Note: You have to select Apple TV at the bottom left before the "Best for AirPlay" option shows up.

  • HT4428 My 128 Gb iPad cannot do airplay mirroring with Apple TV 3.  It only airplays with screen off (like iPad 1), and it can only do airplay with apps which have the airplay button.  No airplay button when sliding the bottom opened apps to the right.

My 128 Gb iPad cannot do airplay mirroring with Apple TV 3.  It only airplays with screen off (like iPad 1), and it can only do airplay with apps which have the airplay button.  No airplay button when sliding the bottom opened apps to the right!  Note : This problem persists after HDMI cable has been changed, and Apple TV was reset.  My another iPad 4 64Gb also on the same most updated ISO has no problem.

I restarted the iPad, it is okay now!  I think it is because I have been using the smart cover for too long, without shutting down the iPad completely!  It just works fine with the airplay signal appearing again after restarting the iPad.

  • Monitor no longer mirrors at full resolution

I have a 1080p monitor. The mac is not able to output to this at full resolution when the displays are set up to 'mirror' (connected to 2011 macbook pro via DVI- thunderbolt adaptor used).
Previously in Snow Leopard I was able to attach the monitor (via DVI with a thunderbolt / mini display port adaptor), close the lid of my macbook, then insert a USB device, to wake the computer from sleep mode. Upon waking from sleep, the computer would detect the external monitor and display at full 1080p resoltion. The lid of the computer could then be opened to use the laptop keyboard and trackpad.
In Lion, the above process works, however when the lid of the laptop is opened, the detect display process seems to run again and the laptop screen turns back on and the external display will no longer mirror at full resolution.
I already have an apple wireless keyboard and mouse, but am using these with another computer- so cannot use these with the laptop (this configuration would allow me to work with the laptop lid closed, and hence keep full resoltion on the external monitor). It isn't practical to get 2 wireless keyboards and mice, so I'm looking if Apple will support mirroring the display at full resolution (or indeed just the ability to turn the laptop monitor off, to allow the 2nd display to run at full resolution...)
(Works fine on the same macbook pro when running Windows 7 in Bootcamp, so must be technically feasible).

  • Since subscribing to iTunes match my ipad2 no longer offers the AirPlay option on the volume bar within Music, rendering my bowers Wilkins speakers useless for both iTunes and spotify. Why is this and how can I fix it?

Since subscribing to iTunes match my ipad2 no longer offers the AirPlay option on the volume bar within Music, rendering my bowers Wilkins speakers useless for both iTunes and spotify. Why is this and how can I fix it?
Apple made no mention of this being an expected issue, so I can only assume it's unintentional. Otherwise I wouldn't have subscribed to Match in the first place!

How big is your library?  I would recommend the following troubleshooting steps:
    - Backup your library.  Always a good idea before messing with things.
    - Create a new library.   Refer to this article for details:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1589.  This won't delete your old library, you're just creating a new empty one.  Also refer to this article to get back to your old library later.
    - Add a few albums into this new library.  Not everything, just a small sampling, as a test.
    - Activate Match on this new library.  You shouldn't have to re-pay, it should just say "Add Computer" or similar.
    - At this point, Match should run again. With just a few albums it should complete in just a few minutes.
If iTunes doesn't crash at this point, then likely there's something about your original library that Match doesn't like - what that is I don't know, but at least you'll know it's not your PC.   If iTunes still crashes, then if could be a number of other things, but probably not your library.   My next suggestion (if you haven't already done this) is to uninstall / reinstall iTunes.   If that doesn't work, then my next ideas you won't like.
