IPad2 / PS3 Bluetooth pairing

I can't get my iPad2 to pair with my PS3 via Bluetooth. The PS3 can see the iPad but the iPad refuses to see the PS3 and the Bluetooth signal on the iPad stays grey! The PS3 lets me attempt to pair but when i get to the final point it throws up an error (80110106). Is there a way to force them to pair?

the only thing ipads does in terms of bluetooth is
1. headset
2. keyboard
3. some ios games can use bluetooth for multiplayer they handle everything themselvs and no pairing is required or possible
unless you are trying to use your ps3 as headset or a keyboard don't bother trying to mess around with those 2 in relation to eachother

    Hey guys,
Pairing a ps3 controller to lion requires a passcode... In SL no passcode was required... it paired by using the USB cable...
How can i get this functionality back? Must be some defaults i can write to disable the nazis apple put into lion to control bluetooth pairing.
please help... i cant play earthbound

I found the following two threads on other sites that got me at least to where the PS3 controller (a DualShock 3 for the sake of search engines) and the Mac were connected and configured via Bluetooth, but I've yet to find a way to pair them. The red LEDs on the controller have been a hit or miss affair for me. Sometimes they flash, sometimes they don't.

  • Sony ps3 bluetooth headset keeps turning itself off

I recently purchased the official sony ps3 bluetooth headset, hoping it would also work with my mac. I've paired it, and successfully used it but the headset itself keeps turning off. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
    Thanks~

Yes, it's fully charged. I plan on posting on the sony forums also, but I figured I'd try this approach also, given I have a feeling both companies are going to put the blame on the other. It does seem like sony's issue to me though, but you never know. I was just hoping I'd find someone who had the same experience (or a good experience where it does work) on these forums.

  • My Ipad2 won't pair up with my apple wireless keyboard.

My Ipad2 won't pair up with my apple wireless keyboard. It shows it's available to be paried, but when I try to type the 4 number code and press enter, nothing happens and finally the bluetooth search times out.  Anyone with suggestions?

I realize this is an old post, however I had the same problem (Apple 2009 Aluminum BlueTooth keyboard and iPad 2). I kept getting the "Pairing Unsuccessful" message.  Here's what worked for me:
    1. Turn off the keyboard by holding down the power button until the green light turns off.
    2. I power cycled the iPad by holding the sleep/wake and home button until the screen went to black, and turned it on again. (Not sure if this was necessary, but I figure it couldn't hurt.)
    3. Holding the keyboard in my lap, I pressed AND HELD the power button in through the next few steps.  (DO NOT LET GO UNTIL I SAY SO)
    4. At this point, I got the message on the iPad to type the code. YESSSSSSSSS!
    5. STILL CONTINUING TO hold in the power button, I keyed in the code and pressed return.
    6. Next thing I saw was:
    Bluetooth                                                                             (ON ( ))
    Devices
Apple Wireless Keyboard ----------------------------------------- Connected (>)
    7. That's it. You can let go of the power button now.
Hope this helps, I thought I'd post this in case anyone else was having similar problems.
    Cheers!

  • IPhone 5S bluetooth pairing with prius in-car phone Issue

Let me begin by saying that this is my first problem with any apple device!  EVER!!
I have an Verizon iPhone 5S, less than 2 months old, with the new OS 8.0.2 update and it will no longer pair correctly with my 2012 Prius V's in-car bluetooth phone.  You try to call someone, it doesn't connect and you can't hang up!!!! Then auto-calls them when you turn the bluetooth on (in the phone)... but doesn't physically make the call on the phone.  Now if the bluetooth in my phone is on, and I even start the car, the car states it's trying to call home.  I have attempted many of the following in different combinations with no success:
Tried to end the call on the car's interface (it won't turn off), pressed the hang up button on the steering wheel -- nada.
    Restarted Phone
    Turned Car on/off/on
Removed all pairings and re-paired them together
Made sure the LTE option was on (the iPhone 6 option, which seems to be relatively successful, for data and voice/voice only/data only is not an option on iPhone 5S)
Now, my husband has a Droid 4 and it works seamlessly with the bluetooth pairing.  The car does play, through the bluetooth, Audio through the phone.
I guess I should also state I did NOT have any issues with iOS 8.0 or the 8.0.1 upgrades with pairing with the car's bluetooth technology.  I have checked and my Entune "upgrades" are all up to date.

    Hello Sorridera,
The article linked below details a number of steps that can restore your iPhone's ability to correctly connect to your vehicle's Bluetooth system.

  • Bluetooth Pairing with Microsoft Sync - Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD

After the upgrade of my father-in-law's phone to KitKat (v 4.4.2) the bluetooth pairing to his Microsoft Sync in a 2013 Ford Explorer no longer works right. After deleting the pairing on the vehicle and then repairing, the contacts do not copy over. It says "downloading contacts, please wait" then comes back a few seconds later saying "no contacts". I've deleted and recreated the pairing on the vehicle twice but I cannot seem to delete it in the displayed devices on the phone.
    I would appreciate any assistance.

Thanks for confirming Werica. I'm pleased to hear that the bluetooth functionality is still working. This sounds more specific to the hands free bluetooth system in your vehicle. Have you been able to test the device with another vehicle or another bluetooth capable accessory? If the device will works successfully with the others, I apologize our control is limited with a specific vehicle.

  • I have iphone 6 with ios 8.1.1. The bluetooth pairs with my sony car radio and everything works fine. However, the iphone won't stop searching for other devices.

I have an iPhone 6 with ios 8.1.1 operating system. The Bluetooth pairs with my Sony car radio and works fine. However, the iPhone will not stop searching for other devices. This does not seem to affect anything, but I can't help but think it is using battery power.

    One possibility:
How do you know it is searching for other devices?  Because you opened Settings > Bluetooth?
Why is it searching for other devices? Because you opened Settings > Bluetooth?

  • IPad mini retina won't bluetooth pair - even with Apple products!

my brand new ipad mini retina 128 doesn't bluetooth pair - even with an apple chicklet keyboard (or other keyboards or even with my iphone 5s)!!!!
    what a joke
I've read posts and tried resetting ipad, bluetooth, peripherals, etc
any suggestions? again, totally weak on apple's part

Also, iOS devices will not pair with any other iPhone or iPad as you have found out. They are designed to be paired with bluetooth keyboards, stereos, headsets and, for thethering only, phones and computers.

  • How to connect Iphone4s and Ipad2 through bluetooth

How to connect Iphone 4s and Ipad2 through bluetooth normally as we do for some general phone

you can only connect your iPhone 4S and iPad2 for the purpose of tethering your iPhone's internet connection to the iPad.  Any other connection is not supported.

  • HT204387 Does the IPhone 4S support NFC technology for Bluetooth pairing?

Does the IPhone 4s support NFC technology for Bluetooth pairing.

NFC and bluetooth are not the same thing.
The iPhone (no currently existing model) does not have the hardware required for NFC.

  • PS3 bluetooth controller?

Is there any way to get the PS3 bluetooth controller to work with this tablet? I can't seem to get it to work. USB PS1 controller works thou. I mean comon, it's SONY, it's PS3, and this is a PS certified tablet. The tablet already have a USB host and bluetooth enable so why can't I get the PS3 controller to work?

garbage. the device after MONTHS was able to connect to a PS3 dualshock if you buy an adapter cable. LOOOOL such bull. Oh and if you are able to connect, you can't really use it to do anything since interplay with ps3, psp, or any playstation network purchases is completely impossible!
yay for being tricked into buying a garbage tablet like myself.
don't expect sonystyle to do right. They answer the phone but thats about it.

  • HT204387 what is the bluetooth pairing default code to connect to bluetooth device (car).

What is the bluetooth pairing code to connect to bluetooth device (car) for iphone 4 w 7.os

first you must put your iphone in the discover mode by going to bluetooth on your phone which places it in discovery mode. Them you must go to your car's bluetooth discovery mode and place it in discovery mode. If the phone sees the car and visa versa, the car will give you a code to place into your phone. Once you put the code into the phone the two will be linked. Make sure that your car has "automatic" link set so that your phone will link every time you turn on the ignition. Refer to your car's manual for more help or go to your dealer, they should be able to help you or even do it for you, but you need to know how to be able to discover and then link bluetooth devices yourself because every bluetooth device uses the same discovery formula especially if you want to use your IOS devices to play music through your system using bluetooth.

  • HT1338 Macbook Bluetooth paired but does not connect, how do i fix this?

    Hello,
I have a Rocketfish Bluetooth device that I use to stream music wirelessly from my Macbook to my stereo.  The macbook and bluetooth pair then connect but once i activate the connection fails.  I've used other devices (ipad) to connect with the Rocketfish and it works so the bluetooth device is funtional so the issue must be on my macbooks end.  Any thoughts on how i can get this to work?
    Thanks,

  • Can't regain Bluetooth pairing after 10.4.11 upgrade.

I upgraded last week to 10.4.11 and shortly after lost Bluetooth pairing with my Apple wireless keyboard. ? if the upgrade is involved in the malfuntion - but the timing is suspicious. DOZENS of attempts to re-pair the two have resulted only in the need to dig out my ancient G3 usb keyboard.
What have I tried? Restarting. Shutdown. Unplugging. Logging in and out. Resetting PRAM (which solved the problem of my machine also refusing to sleep after the upgrade - but zip on the Bluetooth front) I have replaced/rearranged the keyboards batteries. I checked the Bluetooth settings and made sure mouse keys are off. I have directed vibes, both loving and apocalyptic, towards Apple Computer.
    Nothing.
This isn’t the first time Bluetooth has failed. Shortly after the initial set-up - which was slick as snot - it quit, requiring days of frustration for me and a half dozen Apple Care people, a replacement keyboard, and a trip to the shop. As I recall, it was never really established what the problem was, but I pitched my wireless mouse into the trash then and I’m hoping I won’t have to do the same with the keyboard ‘cos I hate cords....
Has anyone got any magic bullets for this? My machine consistently locates and recognizes the keyboard - it just won’t pair. It either loses the connection or times out.

I think I may have a similar issue, My Mighty Mouse works intermittently since I updated to 10.4.11.
Today was the strangest event - I could still point with the mouse but none of the buttons would work.
I believe I upgraded on 11/16/07, and the mouse connection has been lost a few times, but today I turned it off and on as usual, but the iMac didn't find it again.
I dug out an old USB mouse, and found that the mouse wasn't listed in the Mouse & Keybaord preference panel. I had to "set-up" the Mighty Mouse again. I decided to dust the mouse, so I shut it off, and again it was not recognized by the iMac until I went to "set-up" the mouse again.
