THIEVES BREAKING INTO MY LIVING ROOM FROM IRVING,TX ON 20-OCT-2011.

Thanks guys, then Its a bug or missing feature, Apple should somehow find it that every unique Hardware Id should always be same and mapped to single Itunes device account. so that the gps would be able to find it and they should not be able to restore with another itunes account. They should send atleast send email/URL to authorize to the previous itunes account who owns the ipad.
I informed Apple too. they said they cannot able to help with it.
Hope Apple is listening to these discussion forums..

Honestly, you will likely never get it back. I'd change your iTunes and any other password that could be stored on the device.

Recently I had my Ipad2 stolen. Immediately I changed my password of my Apple Id, but when I need relocated it, my icloud need the original or first password.
When I want put the first password again appear “you can`t use the same password in this year”

IPad2 STOLEN - S/N:DL*****FJ0

iPad2 with S/N: DL*******FJ0 was stolen.
I was hopeful that someone will give me a call or email me to make arrangements.
Please note that I am interested to get my iPad back if you come across it.

Last seen on flight US1564 at seat 9A on April 24th, 2013 during a flight from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to Philapdelphia (PHI).
I set up 'Find My iPhone' APP, but it has not shown up online (seems pretty useless because you can 'restore' the iPad and owner details disappear).

Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.
Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

Stolen iPad showing up on map. LE notified. What now?

Had an iPad2 stolen this past Sunday evening from our church. Noticed Monday afternoon it was missing. Immediately logged onto iCloud to attempt to track its whereabouts. Surprisingly, someone was dumb enough to connect it to their wireless network at home. I say dumb enough, because all restrictions are enabled on the device (including no Safari, no YouTube, no purchasing apps, no in-app purchases, etc).
I called local LE and informed them that I had tracked it and had it on a map. It is in a gated subdivision at a 4,000 sq ft house worth $800K. I'm assuming their teenager probably stole it. We have cross-referenced the address with our databases and do not know the person.
LE went to the house and waited a few minutes, but left after no one answered the door. They were very nice, but were very candid in explaining that the most they can do is ask the homeowner about it and if the homeowner denies any knowledge, that is all they can do. I understand this and don't expect much more than that.
Now, three days later. Because the iPad is still on and visible on the map, and because the battery is still at about 80%, my thought it to leave it alone and just continue to watch it. I have purposely not placed it in Lost Mode just yet so as not to tip them off that we even know its missing. I'm hoping they go somewhere with it in public (coffee shop, bookstore, etc). LE told me that if they take it out of the house and I can track it and remotely have it make a sound, they can walk up and seize it - otherwise, I'm outta luck.
My question for you guys. Is this the best route? Would you continue to wait & see for it to move or would you remotely put it in Lost Mode now? I do not suspect that they are willingly going to give it back or drop it off - unless it's a parent of a teenager that took it. I was thinking about waiting until battery goes down and then putting in lost mode during the day while the kid might be at school & hoping his mom hears it and wonders what it might be.
You guys have any other creative ideas? Any creative "lock messages" I should put on it?

PS - I have all documentation on iPad, including the original box and paperwork with serial number.

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
All ipad apps are not neccessarily compatible with iphone. There are some universal apps.

I did not know about iCloud until after my iPad2 was stolen but I have the serial number so is there any way Apple/iCoud can help trace it when the thief logs into Apple's website /store etc? Thanks

iOS devices cannnot be tracked or located with just the serial number. Unless you shared your Apple ID and password with anyone, then your account cannot be accessed at the iTunes Store.

If you had Find My iPhone activated on your iPhone, you can remotely wipe it, which you can do through iCloud on your computer. If you did not have Find My iPhone active on your phone you're out of luck.
You should immediately change all passwords for your Apple ID, email, any apps where you had a password, or any where you have credit cards tied to shopping.

It's a bit too late for that. You needed to do that before it was stolen.
