Ipad2 to appletv to LCD projector wireless
I teach and would like to mirror my iPad through my projector. I purchased AppleTV to connect wirelessly with the iPad; the projector only has VGA, and possibly DVI connection. Will this work if I get an HDMI to VGA cable to use with AppleTV to projector?
I already have the Dock to VGA connector, need to connect wirelessly.
Thanks!
That will not help the OP connect wirelessly, however. :-)
Several people have talked about getting a VGA - HDMI adaptor, buti haven't heard if they have had problems or not. I n theory, it should work. Check out the iPad Educators Ning - some folk were discussing it on there.

Projecting Ipad Using LCD Projector
I am in education. I would like to use an iPad in a classroom where i can have what is happening on the iPad screen be projected, using an LCD projector, without using another computer and preferably wirelessly. Can this be done?
As you describe it, only through an Apple TV connected to a projector.
If you can do without "wirelessly", you can do this (mirroring) through a cable connected to your projector.
On a limited basis, Epson just released an app that will send limited content (images, Word/Powerpoint/Keynote docs) to one of their own networked projectors. -

Depends on what type of video connection the projector accepts. Most common would be DVI, VGA or HDMI. Review this article for more information: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3235

How do I connect a 2013 Macbook Pro Retina to an Epson Power Lite 61p LCD Projector?
I am trying to attach an Epson PowerLite 61p LCD Projector to my 2013 Macbook Pro Retina, but I cannot find which type of adapter I need. I would assume whichever adapter is required it must connect via thunderbolt. However, I do not know if the required adapter is a "Mini Display Port to VGA Adapter," "Apple Mini DVI to VGA Adapter," or a "Thunderbolt to VGA Adapter." I would deeply appreciate your help and guidance. Thanks!
It does not matter whether you get an Apple adapter or a third pary one. What you have there is a Mini Displayport to VGA adapter, but as you know, your new MacBook no longer has an MDP port!
Thunderbolt to VGA adapters do not exist but there are plenty of HDMI to VGA adapters out there:

Connecting my MacBook to an LCD projector
I'm an ESL teacher, and my kids made simple movies of themselves telling stories, using my secondhand MacBook and Photo Booth. When I tried to connect to my LCD projector, using the dongle that came with my G3, it wouldn't fit! Our librarian said I need a different one (grrr) for the Macbook, but when I went online to search, it appears that I need a different device altogether - some kind of Mini DP Display port.
Does someone know what I really need? Thanks!
HelenDoes someone know what I really need?
In the short term what you need is to post this in the right forum. You posted this in the Panther and earlier OS forum but your computer information says you're using Leopard, but that doesn't matter because this is really a hardware problem and would best be off in the forum for your computer. I'll ask it be moved there. -
Can't connect MBP to LCD projector using DVI-TO-VGA adapter
I am trying to connect my MacBookPro to a Hitachi CP-X885 projector, which I normally connect an IBM Thinkpad to at 800x600 or 1024x768. I also use my MBP and the VGA adapter to connect to other LCD projectors and monitors (so my adapter works, as well as both systems, projector, cables, etc.). Problem is, that when I connect my MBP to the projector (I have to connect it via VGA as there is a 250 foot cable that goes to the front where the rear-projection takes place). When I do the "detect displays" nothing is detected. I also connected directly to the projector using a shorter cable, same thing (doesn't detect it). So, is the projector not supplying some type of signal to the output, that the MBP wants to see?)... is there a way to FORCE the MPB to have output? I know that if there is signal, it will display (we have LOTS of notebooks that display to the projector just fine, BUT have SEVERAL MBP's, and NONE of them will detect, and we've tried several adapters (just to be sure)... HELP!... is there some way to FORCE output from the MBP instead of it having to DETECT IT???
Thanks!Sorry Walter, but according to the Terms of Use (which you agreed to the first time you logged in to the Discussions and can be found if you click on the "Help" link to the right):
Do not post a URL unless it directly answers a user's question.
The URL you post does not answer David's original question. Also, it could potentially void his warranty because a firmware hack (and this is indeed a link to a "hack") is an unauthorized alteration to the hardware of his computer. ("Software" can only be installed on the hard drive and that hack is not installed on the hard drive, it's installed on the firmware on a chip inside the logic board.)
I don't want to take this thread off-topic, but your reply does NOT help David's situation. I would, however, value your input and anyone else's to this and any other topic in the Discussions as long as it is pertinent to the original subject.

How can I print from my ipad2 via my Canon Pixmar MP620 wireless printer? I get a message stating "no airprinter found".
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
If you have a Mac running OS X, try AirPrint Activator.
http://netputing.com/airprintactivator/airprint-activator-v2-0/
It's "donation-ware."
Free to download and try. If it works and you like it, the developers do appreciate a donation, but the app continues to function, even without a donation. -
I connect my macbook pro to an Epson wireless projector. The macbook can see the projector wirelessly and the image on the macbook is displayed on the projector. However on system ref., the arrangement tab does not show and thus cannot have multiple view.
I am trying to project Pro Presenter on the Epson projector such that I have the detail screen on the macbook and only the screen I want people to see on the projector display. This has not been possible because the arrangement tab on the Display section of the System Preference is not showing. If i tried to search for the arangement, it comes back with the message that there is not other source detected, hence the arrangement tab is not showing.
I have also tried to connect the Epson directly to the Macbook but it still the same result, so its not because it is a wireless connection. Can someone advise me jhow to go around this problem. I have used windows before and it is very easy to extend ptojection on windows, but this system seems to be frustrating to me.
Thanks,

You may want to try clearing out the PRAM on your computer. This process is explained through this article:

Any issues connecting the new MacBook to LCD projector with VGA adapter?
I do presentations on the road using my old MacBook with whatever LCD I find when I get there. I run Keynote with lots of video clips in my presentations. I carry a Mini-DVI to VGA adapter. Most often it works fine.
I was hoping to update to the new MacBook, but I'm concerned about the display issues on the discussion board.
Has anyone had any experience connecting the new MacBook using Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter?I received my MB (aluminium) 2.0 in early November, but only this week (2nd week December) have had a need to use it for a presentation via the Mini DisplayPort --> VGA adapter.
I thought I could use it just as I did my previous (white 1.83 MacBook) laptop, but this one is a bit quirkier. Plugging in the adapter cable results in a system freeze. Unplugging the cable will restore mouse control (unfreezing the computer) in most instances, but not all.
Turns out that in order to use an external VGA connection, I need to have the adapter plugged in and restart the machine. If the external display is not present from boot, then it freezes.
This is unlike my previous MacBook, in which I could plug-unplug willy-nilly. The screen would flash blue a couple of times and all would be fine, with the external extended display detected and functioning. This was one of those nice "Mac" things that my Windows-using colleagues were somewhat jealous of, as they constantly have trouble getting their laptops to recognize the LCD projector.
Sadly, it looks like I'm now living in their world...

LCD projector to MacBook Air - I have thunderbolt, how do I connect these two machines?
I purchased an IPEVO Ziggi HD, how do I use this with LCD projector? I have MacBook Air which has thunderbolt and HDMI...
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

One of these should work, depending on the projector. Just note both will not allow you to play protected movies on the projector.

Ipad to Macbook Pro to LCD projector
I have a MacBook Pro and IPad 2. Doing a PPT with the MacBook Pro using the mini display port to VGA adapter connected to the LCD projector. I would like to display an app from the IPad to the LCD to the screen. I realize I can connect it directly to the projector. But I was wondering if I can connect the IPad to the Macbook via USB and configure the MacBook to display the IPad on the screen via LCD projector.
Maybe this:
