THIS WAS COPIED FROM A THREAD THAT WORKED FOR ME SO I CAN'T TAKE THE CREDIT
Open notepad as administrator, and direct yourself to:
    C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc
    open the "Hosts" file:
note the "127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com" portion near the bottom. your hosts may be different, and if so, then look for that part specifically. the problem for me, lied within the fact that just before the "127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com" part, there originally was no hash(#) with the space like the rest of the hosts file. This was all I had to fix. After editing and then SAVING the hosts file in notepad I restarted iTunes and the update went through without a hitch!
so if you do not see the hash and space before the "127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com" part, all you have to do is put the #, and then press tab! I hope this works for some of you guys! So just to be clear, that particular line in the file should look like:
    # 127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com
    good luck!

You make no mention of connecting directly to your computer.  Was this done?
How are you hardwiring an iPod Nano?

Nowhere from my knowledge such info isnt available on any Toshiba page

As far as I know you can order the recovery disk here:
    http://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
In case you did not create such recovery disk in the past this is just and only way to get the recovery disk.
If your CD/DVD drive is OK, then the recovery disk or the image on the disk must be faulty.
By the way: to boot and to install the system on computer using UEFI BIOS, you have to disable the secure boot and have to switch from UEFI to CSM mode...

  • Im trying to upgrade to the 4.3.4 but keep getting a error message 3259 down load time out ?? can any one help

    You cant try this
Slide to Unlock Several users have been able to fix this issue by simply sliding the “Slide to Unlock” button on their iPhones before attempting the update.
Disable antivirus software. If you are using Windows, try temporarily disabling antivirus software before applying the update.
Disable firewall. Instructions for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Update router firmware. Check your router manufacturer’s website, and download and install any new updates for your wireless router. Alternatively, try plugging the ethernet cable directly into your computer.
As last resort download separately 4.3.4 http://appldnld.apple.com/iPhone4/041-1923.20110715.BnATg/iPhone3,1_4.3.4_8K2_Re store.ipsw and use Shift + Restore button on itunes. Then restore your settings and etc. from backup.
Remember to Beackup first, because Shift + Restore will make factory restore.

  • HT1386 unable to sync my ipad2   receive an error message 1140 (unknown error)  HELP..don't want to have to go to the apple store to be able to sync my ipad to my desktop !!

For some unknown reason, I am unable to sync my ipad2 with my desktop.  I receive a message saying it cannot sync due to an unknown error 1140.
Hate to have to run to the apple store to get this resolved...hope someone here knows the answer !!  I need to sync !!
    Thank You.

Experienced User Terrell Smith recently posted on this Error Code:
    Terrell Smith:
"Today I was in an Apple Store, and four Apple Geniuses could not solve this problem. It seems to have something with large iPhoto Libraries, because when I started iPhoto up with a small library (1,100 photos), the problem did not occur. In iTunes, under the Photo's option "Sync Photos," if the iPhoto library is large (38,000 photos), the option to select the radio button "Selected albums, Events, and Faces" is grayed out, and you cannot select it.
My guess is that since the large iPhoto library will not fit on your iOS device, iTunes throws the 1140 error.
As others have noted, if you uncheck "Sync Photos" in iTunes, the rest of things will sync instead of throwing the 1140 error message.
But you don't have synced photos then.
The Apple Store told me they have no solution for this error. We should file iPhoto Feedback, and that this issue has been escalated to Apple Engineering."

    Hope this helps

  • When i connect  my ipad2 to sync, error message says ipad itunes version needs updated

when I connect my ipad 2 to my mac to sync an error message says my ipad doesn't have the latest version of itunes.  When i try to update my ipad, i can't....help

It would be good for you to provide a little more information for us.
What version of the iOS is on your iPad? Did you update to iOS 6?
What version of OSX is your Mac running?
Did you update iTunes to version 10.7
If you have iOS 6 on your iPad you need to have iTunes 10.7 on your Mac before you can sync. iTunes 10.7 requires Mac OSX 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) or higher.
If you have iOS 6 on your iPad and a version of OSX below 10.6.8 you'll need to update the OSX first, then install iTunes 10.7. If your have OSX 10.6.8 or higher you can just download and install iTunes 10.7.
It would e a good idea to back up all data on your computer if you have to do an update of OSX.

I have tried downloading ios 6 OTA and via iTunes. I am about to give up. I always get an error= -3259 message on iTunes, and download failed on OTA. Can anyone help?

Open the firewall on your router. If you try it on iTunes again make sure you also temporarily disable all of your antivirus/antispyware software.

  • Error message -3259 on 5.0.1 update for iPhone 4s

I have been trying for the last 15 hours to update my phone.  I turn it on airplane mode, and update through itunes (I do not have a wifi connection). It says it will take 3 hours (longer if not in airplane mode). When it has just a minute or two left an error pops up and says my network connection timed out and to ensure my network setting are correct (error -3259).  My settings are good, so I dont know what the heck. Anyone have any suggestions???

No, it will not. It must be the version specifically for the iPod Touch.  On top of that you must have a 3G or 4G iPod Touch in order to even install iOS 5 onto it.

  • Itunes error message 3259 after uninstalling anitvirus

I was trying to update my iphone but just keep getting this 3259 message, I noticed that downloading podcast is also affekted by this problem. This problem came up after uninstalling f-secure antivirus.

May want to check if the Firewall on your Mac is turned on.  You can do this by going to "System Preferences" -> "Security" -> "Firewall" ... if this is "On" it may cause network issues per : http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2799

  • Error message -3259 when trying to download iOS - please help, can't get icloud, error message -3259 when trying to download iOS - please help, can't get icloud

What can I do help with downloading iOS?

    For error -3259
This alert is often the result of iTunes being blocked by firewalls on the computer.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Try turning off your Firewall to see if the issue is resolved (this includes the built-in Firewall or a third-party Firewall such as Norton Personal Firewall, McAfee, Symantec, etc.). See iTunes for Windows: Music Sharing With Windows Internet Connection Firewall for steps if using Windows. See KB iTunes: Music Sharing does not work if Firewall is on for steps if using Mac OS X.
If there's no firewall or security software interference, try to remove proxy settings.
