Ipad2 usb driver update required on windows 7

Connecting my iPad2 to my Dell Latitude D430 / Windows 7 will start installing the usb driver, after awhile it returns a fail message.
The latest iTunes, has been installed and re-installed (as per Apple proposal), computer was switched off a few times, only to have the same problem.
In the systems overview, the usb connection is recognized as being an apple device, however the driver information requires to re-install the driver.

  • Mapping usb drive with rdesktop to windows server/XP

I have read that the -r option with rdesktop allows you to map a local usb drive on a linux pc to a windows server or XP as follows:
    rdesktop -r disk:usb=<path> <ipaddress>
I have arch installed with a base gnome so that usb drives are automatically mounted and unmounted when plugged in.
Locally I have made sure that the usb is being mounted properly.
But when I rdesktop into the windows pc and open windows explorer the usb drive appears as a network drive in the left window but no files appear in the right hand window.
Windows gives me a message that the resource is unavailable. Mu usb is formatted in FAT.
This occurs whether I use the dev address (/dev/sda1) for my usb drive or the mounted address (/media/usbstick) in the -r option.
Can anyone tell me why I am not seeing any files in windows on my usb stick?

There are a number of posts related to copying issues between Windows Vista / 7 and AirPort Disks. Two potential solutions being forwarded are: 1) Changing the LAN Manager authentication level, and/or 2) Disabling the Windows Search feature.
To change the LAN Manager authentication level:
From the Windows Vista / 7 desktop, click Start
    Search for: security
    Click 'Local Security Policy'
Goto Local Policies > Security Options
Under Policy, double-click 'Network security: LAN Manager authentication level'
Change level to: Send LM & NTLM responses
Under Policy, double-click 'Network security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including RPC) clients'
    De-select 'Require 128-bit encryption'
    Click OK
     To disable Windows Search:
Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features
On the right-hand side, click "Turn Windows features on/off"
Scroll down, and de-select "Windows Search".
Press OK, close all windows and restart.
A third "solution," that has worked for me, is verify that both the AirPort base station and the Win7 PC are using the exact same Workgroup Name. In my case, I use "WORKGROUP" (without the quote marks) for this name. From the AirPort Utility, you would enter this value on the Disks > File Sharing tab. On Win7, Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System > Change Settings > Change > Workgroup

  • [SBS 2011] USB drive 3 TB and Windows Boot

Attached new USB drive to the SBS server. The previous one, 2 TB,  died. This one is 3 TB. When I reboot the server, I see the message 'Windows is starting' briefly and then it halts with an error. Can't make a screenshot, but it's something with UEFI
boot. Didn't know what caused this, so I tried starting Windows in safe mode. Same error. O dear. What has changed recently... ah, them USB drive. Unhooked it from the server and Windows booted just fine.
I didn't have this problem with the previous USB drive. The BIOS / UEFI setup of the server is set to boot from harddisk, then CD/DVD. The USB drive isn't coming into play at the boot stage. And it doesn't since I briefly see the message 'Windows starting'.
When Windows starts, it somehow does something to the USB drive and then decides it can't start. How do I prevent Windows from checking them USB drive at startup?
    Simon

None of them answers are correct. I don't use the drive for Windows Backup. Tested the drive and it's OK. I rebooted the machine so I could create a screenshot. When Windows starts, it displays the text "Windows is loading files...."
and a progress bar at the bottom of the screen. When that bar is full, the machine stops with an error. It looks like this error is triggered by the BIOS, since it displays:
    BIOS rev 2.3.3
    A system restart is required.
The system detected an exception during the UEFI pre-boot environment.
Press Enter on the Serial Console for detailed exception info.
Type: General Protection Fault (13) Source: Software (UEFI0011)
Then a bunch of numbers and the line:
    -->rip C023D04C bootmgfw.efi <--Crash occurred here
Reading this, I wonder if it's a Windows problem or some BIOS / UEFI thing?

  • USB Drive only working on windows

I got a new usb drive the other day, and its only readble and writable on windows. It can even be formatted on windows as well.
when I insert it into my mac it tells me to initialize.
    Everytime i try to format it in disk utility i get this error message;
"Disk Erase failed with the error:
Wiping volume data to prevent future accidental probing failed."
any solutions? I need this usb drive and don't have the time or the money to buy a new one at this moment in time.

Please check this link for the compatible USB HDD for WRT610N.
Its a Maxtor OneTouch II, 189GB powered hard drive. Looks like it is not compatible as seen from the list provided in that link.
Seriously? Are those the only disks compatible? That's a pretty small list :-(

  • Should i install driver updates suggested by windows update?

    I have a black MacBook 2.2 i believe late 2007 model.
I have windows 7 installed via bootcamp and have updated bootcamp to 3.2. things are working fine  I guess. I noticed after i installed and ran windows update there are drivers it wants to update for Display - Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family.
Just wondering If I should update this, just because i didnt want it to overwrite a specific driver apple put in there for it..
    Hope that made sense.
    E.T.

    HI E.T.
It should be safe to update drivers via Windows Update, as this will update any Windows drivers, and also the GPU drivers etc.
You can also run an Apple Software Update, from within Windows (Start -> Programs -> Apple Software Update) which will bring you up to date with all the Apple & BootCamp drivers.

  • Disable USB driver installation from searching Windows Updates for software

    Hello,
When a plug-n-play device is connected to a Windows 7 system, the system by default tries to search Windows update for compatible drivers.  I have a preconfigured driver store on each system that will have the drivers for all of the USB devices we care
about so I'd like to search the local driver store first before searching for Windows updates.
I found the option that controls this under System Properties > Advanced system settings > Hardware tab > Device Installation Settings.  I have set this option before my machines run through sysprep, however, sysprep appears to be resetting
the option back to the Windows default (Yes, do this automatically) and ignores what I set it to.
I have a reg key that I'm running post-sysprep, but I'd like to avoid this as it's an extra step and I don't want to have to account for it long-term.  My question is, is there a way to set this option in my sysprep unattend file?

    If this is a domain joined machine, this can be set by a Group Policy Object;
    Open Group Policy Management Editor.
In the navigation pane, open Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Internet Communication Management\Internet
    Communication settings.
In the details pane, double-click Turn off Windows Update device driver searching.
    Do one of the following:
To turn off searching Windows Update, click Enabled.
To allow searching Windows Update, click Disabled.
Click OK to save your settings.
    Instructions taken from: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc730606(v=ws.10).aspx
If this PC is not on the domain (but is Pro) you may be able to set the same option on the Local Group Policy (GPEDIT.MSC).
    Kind Regards

I have looked at your driver section and im trying to eliminate the list of options I have for this problem. I couldnt see a download driver part, is it possible to download drivers for the motherboard listed in the topic title.

  • USB 3.0 device no longer recognized after USB driver update

    Hello,
I was setting up a Windows 7 Pro x64 machine. This PC had 2 USB external hard drives plugged into the USB 3.0 ports in the back. These drives were working fine after Windows installation using (I guess) the Windows default driver.
However, after I installed the USB 3.0 driver downloaded from the motherboard vendor, one of the drives wasn't recognized anymore. In fact, Windows told me the device had malfunctioned. I tried reinstalling the USB 3.0 driver and plugging the troubled device
into different ports but these measures didn't help.
That hard drive still works when I plug it in a different machine and this allows me to get the data off it. However, I would like to fix the problem described above and to resume using this hard drive with its original machine.
    Any help please? Thanks!
OS: Windows 8 x64 Pro with Media Center. All drivers up-to-date.

Make sure it's the right series usb 3 driver, series 7 or series 8.  Series 7 drivers are version 1.x and series 8 are version 2.x.  They use the same device id's.

  • AMD GPU. Driver update problem. Windows 7, BootCamp 5

    Hey .
First I describe my problems, then what I've tried and at the bottom are my computer specs.
I have an old driver for my video card , I am reminded of this when I start modern games such as Battlefield 4
When I start Battlefield 4 a window opens that says which model of the driver I have installed and that I should switch to a newer, and the latest driver model number is then specified .
I have tried to update by :
    1. Windows update . No such updates are there
    2. Go into the Control Panel , gone into the display settings ( through the " change screen resolution " ) , advanced tab, the video card , properties, driver tab, and finally update the driver. With the election "search automatically". Then I get the message. " You already have the latest drivers installed ."
    3. Download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website ( amd ) and then implement step 2 ( above), but choose option : choose driver software on your computer. Then select the folder where I downloaded the files from the manufacturer's website . Then I get the same message from option 2.
    4. Download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website and then run the file I downloaded . The same message comes from the game (battlefield 4) that I do not have the latest drivers installed . Although the final page in the driver-installation said: your drivers are updated. Restarting the computer does not help me off with the problem.
Uninstall the existing driver is a possible solution . However, not reliable to me. Am worried that no drivers can be installed and that I will be stuck without any driver because i Did it once and could not install the new drivers and was then forced to reinstall BootCamp because they provide drivers for eg graphics cards, mice, keyboards and so on. However, these are updated from apple's side once every 3 years, and usually in conjunction with driver issues or updates. Not like these " imperfections " that I have.
Any other options than to uninstall the drivers and hope it goes to install new from the drivers website?
    My technical data:
Computer: iMac (purchased newest model in June 2012 )
Operating System: Windows 7 64bit , through BootCamp 5 from Mac os Mountain Lion.
Graphics card: Amd Radeon 6700m 512mb
    Current driver: 13.9

I had the exact same problem and i just got this to work. Go to my computer and then right click on the disc image. Then double click on bootcamp and then setup and that should work.

  • Driver updates required

Immediately, lets pretend I am technology inept. (Okay, do not pretend.)
I've been experiencing issues with constant and random disconnects from my internet. Resetting router seems to help for a short period of time, then its back to it. I also experience extremely high latency and loading times. This is a recent occurrence in my system. Three times now my computer has suffered an "unexpected error and must restart" Something about a fatal kernel error? After doing a bit of research most problems similar to this seem to suggest updating drivers - upon running my computer HP Assis. it shows I have 15 drivers with updates. Yet when I try to utilize that program, it just stays progressively in the first 10% of downloading on any of the various drivers. Visiting the manufacturer websites I see no available updates or that I have the latest versions.
I am beyond perplexed. My PC is still under warranty but I require it for work and school. Being without it for an extended period of time while it is serviced/repaired/replaced is not feasible. Unless I absolutely definitely have to. Any suggestions or pointers where to start? Aside from being perplexed I am growing increasingly frustrated and am worried these fatal kernel errors are eventually going to permanently damage or fry my computer components/hard drive.
hardware: Ralink RT5390R 802.11bgn WiFi Adapter, Nvidia GeForce GT 640
Not sure what else to even include. :X Sorry. I am seriously not technologically skilled.

Hi grischnak, sorry to hear that you are having issue with your computer with the errors and the loss of connectivity to the internet. I would very much like to resolve these issue for you, however I would need a little more information from you first.  What is the model of your computer and what operating system are you running. Is if possible for you to give me the exact Kernel error you are getting?  Please get back to me at you earliest convenience and I will be happy to assist you with these issues.

as you can see i have a bit of a problem. When i stick a usb <anything> it will pop up 4 windows. What is up with that?

Installed iTunes on my son's HP laptop, but when he plugs in his iPhone 4 it is not recognized in iTunes.  I've done the following:
    * Rebooted the computer.
    * Tried multiple USB ports.  The cable is good because the device can charge without any problems.
    * Restarted the Apple Mobile Device service.
    * Uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes and all other Apple software.
    * Verified that there are no Apple related devices listed anywhere in Device Manager.
    * Been through all of the troubleshooting steps at this site:  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
His iPhone is currently on a version less than 5.0.  iTunes is whatever is currently available from iTunes.com.
I'm stumped.  I'd love to hear some other idea.  I appreciate any and all help.

    That's not really helpful.
What specific version of iOS is on the device and more importantly, what version of iTunes?
Just because someone believes they are running the current version does not make it so.

  • Install Windows 7 USB Load Drive A required CD/DVD drive device driver error

I am trying to do a fresh install on a brand new laptop. I have downloaded a couple of Windows 7 iso images. I have used DiskPart to prepare my USB device and have used the Microsoft usb iso tool to put the Win7 iso image on to the USB device. I always seem
to get stuch after I click Install it quickly comes up with a problem.... Load Driver - A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now... I am installing from a USB drive
so why does Windows require a CD/DVD driver? How do I get Windows 7 to install?
I have read other forums were people have put it down to a corrupt download but I have tried with a couple of different downloads and same problem everytime!
    Please help!
    Thanks
    Gavin

    Hi,
This error message appears if the disk controller mode is incompatible during setup. And it can be caused by your CD/DVD drive may be incompatible with Microsoft’s AHCI driver. To work around this
issue, please go to BIOS and disable AHCI mode for your disk controller. You can change the AHCI mode to IDE or ATA mode instead.
It may also occur if the media is corrupted. Please visit the following link to rebuild the bootable USB stick for Windows Server 2008 R2:
Building a bootable USB stick for Windows 7/Windows Server 2008
    R2
And please check the USB disk: put the USB disk in other machines and boot to see if it works.
Please make sure that the download files are not corrupted.

    Hi,
According to your description, I check this setting in my system, it shows "Modifying this setting may affect compatibility with clients, services, and applications". I think your problem most probably caused by driver compatibility problem, it would be
better to check USB router driver edition, also check its official site if there dirver compatible with Windows 8.1.
