IPad2 won't connect to anything after IOS6 Update

Does anyone have any new ideas how to make an iPad2 connect to iStore/Internet/Anything network related after IOS6 Update?
I have tried everything listed on Apple support Communities including release and renew IP/ Hard reset the iPad/ Let it go completely dead and give it a full charge before rebooting/Forget the network and rest all my settings/ Hard reset my router/Change my router channel. Shall I go on
I even took the ipad to the Apple Genius Bar (or should I say Minimum wage High School student bar) Where I was told that the ipads connection problem was my router when they couldn't get it to connect in the store. I guess if I had a better router the ipad would be able to connect to it half way across the city.
Well anyway it's been 3 months since I have been able to use my ipad2 so if no one here knows how to make it work it's galaxy note 10.1 time I already upgraded my iphone 5 to the Galaxy Note 2 and couldn't be happier with a phone

Not related. Installing Lion doesn't make any changes to a wireless router and/or wireless network the computer is connected to that Lion is installed on.
Try resetting the router. Disconnect all computers and devices connected to your wireless network. Unplug the wireless router from its power source to turn it off. Do the same with the modem the wireless router is connected to. Wait a few minutes followed by plugging your modem back in and allow the modem to completely reset before plugging your wireless router back in to power it back on allowing it to completely reset with a new connection with the modem. Follow this by reconnecting every computer and device to your wireless network.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

The IOS6 update seemed to go well, but I cant connect to my wifi on my 4S. The seems as if it is connecting the redirects to an apple.com log in page that says:

IPad2 won't connect to wifi after I installed Lion on my laptop.

My son complained that he could no longer connect to our home wifi from either his laptop or from his XBox. After doing an inventory, my laptop connects, my wife's laptop connects, my iPhone connects, but my iPad2, my son's MacBook and his XBox cannot connect to our home wifi.
To my knowledge, I haven't changed anything. The only thing I can think of is that somehow this is a Lion problem. Is it possible that Lion has changed some kind of Airport setting to make some things connect and some things not?
I'm pretty much out of my depth here. Any ideas? What can I try?

IPod touch won't connect to computer after failed update?????

A few days ago, I had received a new cable to update my iPod touch from Amazon. This cable is not made by Apple. I have had two cables in the past from Apple, one that came with my 1st Generation Nano and one that came with my iPod touch. The former cable is the older version of the cable, while the latter is the newer version. A year ago the newer cable that came with the iPod touch broke. So I bought a new one from Apple. Then that one broke in June. Because I did not want to spend any money on a new one, I just used my old cable. It worked for a while until it stopped functioning. I have not updated my iPod touch until recently when I had purchased this new cable (which looks like the older version of the cable). It had updated my sister's 4 year old Video iPod and my 1st generation Nano. When I had plugged in my iPod touch with this new cable, my Compaq Presario V6000 laptop said it was syncing the iPod. But on the iPod screen it was saying the opposite. It was allowing me to use my iPod while Syncing it. Recently it has been doing that, when this iPod was brand new it was saying syncing, cancel to unsync. Now here is where the problem with my iPod has occured. So on the sync page on iTunes it said that there was a new update ready for my iPod. So I clicked update and allowed iTunes to download the software, extract the old software, and back it up. But in the middle of backing it up, it said my iPod was disconnected from my computer. When it was clearly connected to my laptop. I unconnected my iPod and reconnected. Now it said it was connected. It said I had to restore my iPod to its original settings and while it was doing so, it said that my iPod had disconnected again, while it was clearly plugged into the computer. Now my iPod won't even update at all. And every time I press the hold button it shows the symbol for itunes and the cable, meaning that I should be connecting to itunes, even though it is hooked up to the computer but not being recognized. The cable works though, because right after this I had updated my Nano to see if the cable was broken. I forgot to mention that similar problems with connecting and disconnecting occurred with the other plugs to, but not to this extent. Can anybody please help me solve this problem? Could it be the cord? My ipod? My laptop(I would say that it is my laptop's fault, seeing that it is a piece of garbage. But I tried connecting my iPod to my sister's macbook pro and it did not work either)? Would you recommend me to just bring my ipod, the new cable, and my laptop to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store and ask them in person??

Could there be a problem that is happening to my ipod right now that is not associated with a usb cable problem? I want to avoid buying a new cable until I eliminate all other problems that I could have. If it is not a cable problem I don't want to spend money on something that is not necessary at the moment.
By the way, by following your advice with my current cable, iTunes recognized my iPod, and said you must restore this iPod before you can use it with iTunes. I clicked on restore. It extracted the software and once that was done it said Preparing iPod for restoring. It started to do it but then it said "The iPod "iPod" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (13)."

Hope this helps - after spending hours on the phone with the Apple support line, I was connected with an AT&T engineer.
As it turns out, I have an original Iphone....original phones were supplied with a BLANK sim card and needed to bae activated by Itunes only. Once aan original Iphone SIM card is burned with your phone number it can your phone can NOT be updated with new soft ware via itunes or this problem will occur.
Solution - go to AT&T, they will supply with a BLANK sim card (it can NOT be tied to your phone when they issue it) and then you go home and log into itunes.
I was advised by the engineer that I should never update the software on my original iphone or this would occur.
I will post one more reply after installing a blank SIM and activating via itunes - Hope this helps others others(i am surprised that no one else has went through this and posted)

TS1538 My iphone will not connect to PC after iOS6 update.

I just updated my phone to iOS6 and now can't connect to my PC. I went over the guide that is listed at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 and found that my device is not showing up in the device manager anymore. I have three computers and my phone is not recognized on all three. My wife's iPhone connects to all three fine. She has a 3GS. I tried uninstalling all apple programs and reinstalling, restoring my phone to factory defaults, and three different USB cables. When I plug the USB into my computer, it starts charging, but never brings up the camera folder nor installs the driver. It shows up nowhere in the device manager. Any suggestions?

I do not have a passcode on the phone. I also tried sliding my finger across the screen to get into the phone past the screen lock and still nothing. I've connected my phone to my computer a million times with no problem. It just started happening after the new update. At least iOS6 is pretty cool! I just want to load music back onto it because I had to take a ton off to make room for the update. It was also nice to be able to pull pictures off. Now I seem to be screwed.

I am a new ipad and mac user and I am on vacation. During my vacation I remotely updated my iPad and ever since I can not connect to the hotels wifi. It is one of those that you have to sign in before being able to do anything on the internet. When you go into settings and select a network it will show a check that it is connected but when you go to safari it will not open the login page. This means I can not check my email or do anything that is essential when I am away from my home town. If anyone can help it would be much appriciated!!!!

Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi. (In a hotel, you can't do this.)
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.

Still prolem with bluetooth Connecting to car after IOS6 update!!!!

I have a Kia Sorento w/Nav system that STILL WILL NOT connect with my iPhone 4s. It's sporadic as to when it will connect. Yes I have turned off Siri, shut off my wiFi on the phone, did a restore factory settings on the car, restored my iPhone, turned off everything on the phone but cellular data, etc (I have tried EVERYTHING) and still it's hit and miss. I have taken the car to Kia which tells me it's an iPhone 4s and above problem and there are no firmware updates for my car system. They tell me Apple needs to put out an update to make it compatible with the 4S and above. This is SO frustrating!! I have a $40,000 car that won't work with a $200 phone!!!!!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Apple, help the many users I have found on this forum to connect our iPhones to our cars!!!

Sorry to hear that you're unable to connect your phone with your car.
What you can try and see if it helps is to do a master reset of the unit in your car and, if possible, try to initiate the pairing from the car unit instead.

did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?

Me too, but updated on 6 Jan 13 - how did you resove the issue? I have tried changing the date setting and accessing vis Passbook to no avail.

Apps won't install on 3gs after ios6 update

Just installed ios6 onto my 3gs, I can't add any apps. I click apply it goes through the install process but phone reports installation fails. Any ideas

I eventually fixed my problems with a hard reset and set as new iphone, the only problem I had was my apps were just not showing on my iphone, itunes showed them as installed they just weren't there, I also figured that my problem with my apps and app store was something that i was constantly restoring so it was just never going away.
So I synced my contacts with icloud, music is saved in itunes as are apps, so the only thing i was going to lose were messages, (i was daft enough not to sync my photos) but not to much lost! So a hard reset, set up as new iphone and just let itunes+icloud sync.
A quick edit of my contacts in icloud, a look in the istore for which apps i wanted to re-download and a re-sync again and i was all done, minus my messages and photos.
I know this wont work for people who have lost everything, but it solved my problems which I outlined at top of page, if you have even the oldest backup you can still get something back, it all depends if your happy to set up as new and don't mind losing a little in the process.

Help. I can't get my ipod to connect to my wifi since I downloaded the new update.

Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Same phone and ios, same problem. Worked just fine for me Sunday, but nothing today, all day. As a workaround I found I can still connect using iTunes on my Macbook Pro, the I synch my iPhone. There are way too many people with the same problem for it to be anything but Apples problem. Hope this helps.
