Ipad2 wont connect to wi-fi even with password?

My new i-pad 2 will not connect to wi-fi even with password. Thought it was router or isp provider however tried another location, same problem. Any insight or help? I have reset both router and i-pad twice each already.

My Ipad will work for a while then drop off. I have to power down the ipad then restart and it will work a while then drop off and I repeat the process. Help!

  • Iphone 5 wont connect to the internet even with full 3G signal

Basically I bought a brand new iphone 5 and I'm already having problems with it. I have transferred my old number over from my old sim card as I used to be on 02 and have transfered to T- Mobile so I gave them my PAC code and it's all in process and they said it would be done but the 1st October which is fine but in the mean time i still want to use my phone and all the benefits that come with it but i at the moment I cant even connect to the internet. I have full signal so full 3g everywhere I go but I still can't connect to the internet. I have already rung up T-mobile and got them to sort it out for me and they patched me through to Apple who said they could sort it out for me by turning my phone off and on again but still I had no internet. Even now, the next day it still isn't working so I really don't know what to do. Has anyone got any suggestion on this? Do you think it's the phone company or could it be the phone?
    Cheers

Have EXACTLY the same issue thePOPEofDOPE420, tried the setting> general> reset> reset network setting suggestion - but this does nothing. Still the issue persists.
WiFi - internet works great. As soon as it's off, status bars showing a full signal, 3G but the web page/Facebook app/App Store just hangs and won't load.
Not sure who to contact - T-Mobile or Apple?

    I'm also having this problem.
In fact two things have stopped working with my iPhone recently.
    1.  iTunes no longer launches automatically when I plug in my iPhone to my iMac.
    2.  The iPhone Notes app has stopped syncing via USB lead between the iPhone and the iMac.
I have tried closing applications, and rebooting both the iPhone and iMac, but this makes no difference.
I'm running OS X 10.6.8 on my iMac.
My iPhone is a 3G running iOS 4.2.1
    Can anyone help?

  • My BBM wont connect to the internet, even though I have a strong internet connection.

Hello! My phone is an Iphone 5 My BBM was working fine until the end of the day, where it would say that it was still "connecting" to my internet, even though I had strong wi-fi. I left it for 45 minutes and it was still connecting. Also, when i was sent a message on there i'd get the "preview bar" or notification and be able to read it from there, but if i were to open the app and look, my messages wouldnt have sent and i cant see theirs either! I have restarted, turned off the internet, tried my 3G etc I have also reinstalled the app 5 times, to no avail.I manage to log in, it loads for a few minuites and then gives me the "temporary server error" However, I made a new account (to see if that would work) and it worked straight away! No loading errors at all!But when I try to use my account, it wont work. Could anybody help me here? Thankyou! xxx

    Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.
If none of the above suggestions work, look at this link.

  • My Ipad2 wont connect to the internet, My Ipad2 wont connect to the internet

    Hi everyone.
My ipad 2 wont connect to the wifi and its infuriating me! It shows a tick nect to the wifi name but shows no connection bars on the top left and I cant access the internet.
I have tried restarting numerous times, renewing the lease and restting the network settings with no luck. No ipad also has the 'forget the network' button so I cant try that option.
Ive tried some of the suggestions I've seen on previous posts such as changing the DNS to 4.2.2.5 but it doesnt stay there, as soon as i click off the page it dissapears and makes no difference. The same with changing the IP addresss.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your router may not have given your iPad a valid IP address. To check on this go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
I would recommend updating the firmware in your D-link DIR-615 level to the latest level. Go here and click on Support Resources to locate the appropriate firmware for your router version: D-Link 615 Support
Restarting your router by removing power to it for 30 seconds and restarting may also work to get around this problem.

    Hi Daphne,
Crystal can only use the top level password. If you have a system password I don't believe that will work, never has.

  • TS3297 itunes wont connect to the internet even though its already connected...?

Itunes continues to "load" and "connect" but then finally informs me that Itunes cannot connect due to lack of Internet Connection, even though there is nothing wrong with the connection. Now what?

Despite the WiFi connection sign you may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address when the iPod requested it. To check on this go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address shown starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix for this can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power to it for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

  • My laptop can't connect to the internet, even with 5 bars.

My laptop can't connect the internet through my WRT54G router.  It detects it, it has 5 green bars, and I'm right next to the router but it doesn't want to go on the internet.  All my wires are plugged in.  I just don't know what to do...Please help.

Connect your Laptop hard wired to the router and check if you have Internet...If you don't have Internet, it means your router is not configured and you need to configure the router...
If your Internet Service Providor is Cable follow this link
If your Internet Service Providor is DSL follow this link
If you have Internet Access on your Laptop when it is hard wired, then click start and goto the Control Panel and double click on Network Connections, right click on Wireless Network Connection and click on Properties.
Now on this window, click on the second tab Wireless Network and give a check mark on "Use windows to configure my wireless" and then remove all the network names present in the Preferred Networks Window. Then click on OK...
Right click on the Wireless Network Connection again and click on View Available Wireless Networks and try to re-connect to your network...
Now it will give you the opportunity to put the network/wep key, make sure you enter the correct network key and confirm it...
    It will connect...
If the above fails click on the Start button >>> Settings >>> Control Panel >>>Network
Connections- Right click on the icon for Wireless network connection and go to properties- On the 'General' tab select 'Internet Protocol TCP/IP' and click on the Properties button- Select Obtain IP Address Automatically...See if you have Internet Access...
If all the above fails, then, click Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Command Prompt...A black box will appear(Command Prompt)...In the Command Prompt window type ipconfig and press 'Enter'...Look for Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection IP Address , Subnet Mask and Default Gateway and post the results...

A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (or if you forgot your passcode)
iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
    iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
If you need to restore your device or if you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to
             update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup.
If you can not restore your device then you will need to go to recovery mode.
Placing your device into recovery mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
         1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end
of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
         2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the
red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake
              and Home buttons.
         3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
             start with step 2 again.
         4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
         5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
         6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

  • Connecting to remote database (idle) with Password File Authentication

    Hi all,
I was wondering if it's possible to connect to a remote database that is shut down (idle instance) as sys user with sysdba privileges? In the book Oracle - All in One on page 210 in the section - Operating System and Password File Authentication it says:
Connection with operating system or password file authentication is always possible, no matter what state the instance and database are in, and is necessary to issue STARTUP or SHUTDOWN commands.
Above indicates that it's possible but I'm unable to do so.
I managed to connect to remote database that was in nomount mode (see below for details).
When I first tried to connect to a remote database (idle instance) using password file authentication it was giving following error:
