Ipad2!

when i try to sync my ipad to itunes it says "the software required for this ipad is not installed correctly. Please reinstall itunes to install the required software" HELP? ive reinstalled itunes 4 times, and it still doesnt work, ive done everything and it just doesnt work!?

have you tried to go to apples ipad page under specs to see if the requirement of syncing the ipad are met by your computers hardware/ software

  • HT4972 After syncing my iPad2 to iTunes, I can't get it to work again.

    Ok, so I wanted to update my iPad2 in order to get the iOS5 (not even really sure what that it). So, I hooked it up to my computer, which is not the original one I had synced it to. It wanted to restart everything from the original iPad settings, so I stopped it.  I then hooked my iPad up to my original computer. When I looked at iTunes it had all my Apps, etc on it and I hit the "sync" button.  It looked like everything was syncing just fine.  But, when it was all done and I go back to using my iPad, it is saying to either: 1) set up as new iPad (which I don't want to do), 2) restore from iCloud backup (don't know how to do this) or 3) restore from ITunes backup...this is what I clicked on. I then plugged my iPad back into my computer with iTunes and started again. However, I can't get any further than this.  Nothing is happening!  Help!!!!!

    That message means that you have to restore the iPad now. Something went wrong. You need to restore the iOS software and then restore from the backup.
    Read this carefully and follow the instructions. Make sure that you restore from your backup at the end of the process. That is covered at the bottom of the support article.

    I reloaded iTunes 10 (64 bit) successfully, but the problem remains the same.
    Any suggestions?

    I looked in the folder from which I want to synch photos, but there is no such thing as an "ipod photo cache" in that folder, or sub-folders, as suggested in the link which you were nice enough to provide.
    I have also tried removing photos from my iPad2 Photos App, and "iTunes has stopped working" shows up  again as soon as I click on the "Synch photos from" button.

    It sounds like the cellular data will not activate for some reason on the iPad.
    I found this article that will help you resolve this issue here, named iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular Models): Troubleshooting a cellular data connection, found here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4249
    Check for a carrier settings update.
    Update your iPad.
    Toggle the Cellular Data setting off and on under Settings > Cellular Data.
    Restart your iPad.
    Tap Settings > General > About. Locate the Carrier entry and make sure that your carrier is correct.
    If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try turning it off: Tap Settings > Cellular Data > SIM PIN.
    Make sure you're in an area of good coverage. If the cellular data connection works in another area, contact your carrier to report the original affected area.
    Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    Restore the iPad as new.
    If none of the above steps resolves the issue, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, contact your carrier, or contact AppleCare to troubleshoot further.
    I know you may have done one or two of the steps here, so you can skip those.

    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

  • Unable to synch my PC and iPad2 using iTunes 10.6.1

    I downloaded iTunes 10.6, enabled HomeSharing, turned off-and-on my iPad2 after closing all Apps, and despite my iPad2 enabled for WiFi synch, the device did not show up in iTunes
    (ii) So, I connected via USB to the PC, and synch went fine until step 4 of 4 - and in this final step, iTunes just stopped synch and went back to its normal self like nothing happened
    (iii) I then wiped my iPad2 clean, restored from scratch via  iCloud and re-did all of the above - still no luck
    Thinking that Apple SW is perfect (like everything else Apple-related), and disappointed that perhaps there was something wrong with my Settings or a bug introduced when I upgraded to iOS5.1, I gave up...until I saw the headlines yesterday that iTunes 10.6.1 was available, with amongst other things, a specific bug fix for issues having to do with  photo synch to iPad.
    Eager to try this...
    (iv) I then uninstalled iTunes 10.6, dowloaded & installed iTunes 10.6.1, & enabled Home Sharing
    (v) Progress .....my device showed up as soon as I was connected to the power source as it should have (but didnt with iTunes 10.6) since I have WiFi synch enabled
    (vi) I then proceeded with (i) to (iii) above...same issue, all is well until step 4 of 4, while downloading the photos to my iPad2, it suddenly quits and goes back to minding its own business.
    PLEASE HELP !!!

    I run both Mac and a PC and have iTunes on both, which has previously recognised my iPhone. I had updated my Mac with the new iTunes software with iCloud and updated my iPad2 just yesterday. I then wanted to do the same with my iPhone today, but my Mac wouldn't recognise the device so I tried it on my PC, which recognised the phone but told me I needed to update my iTunes and this in turn wanted to update my iPhone software. After completing all this and restarting, my iPhone now shows the iTunes icon with the USB plug pointing towards it, obviously wanting me to plug it in to my computer to re-connect with iTunes, but now neither of my computers recognise my iPhone and my PC states an 'Unknown Device'. My Mac doesn't even see it. Can anyone help as I really need to get my phone working?? Thanks

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

  • Verizon iPad2 Active Subscription but Activation Fails

    Hello All,
    I'm hoping some smart apple people in these forums can help. I recently tried to activate my cellular data plan on my new Verizon iPad2 I picked up on launch day. I was able to complete the process of selecting a data plan and processing my payment information. In my Settings -> About menu I see my cellular data number (data phone number) assigned telling me that I have a data account now, and the PRL number has been updated to 52070 (another indicator that a data plan is active).
    Now my problem is data is not working at all. When I try to open the App Store or browse the web I get an error saying I have not signed up for a data plan. Going back into Settings -> Cellular Data -> View Account I am show a screen that says "Service Already Active. Your iPad is already active on a subscription plan that cannot be managed on this device. Please call customer service at 800-786-8419 (verizon customer service sales number) if you have any questions." I also get popups saying Data Plan Activation Failure. Your Verizon cellular data plan did not successfully activate.
    In a not so short time I spent a little over an hour on the phone with Verizon Tech Support and they had no idea how to fix this. I was told to reset my iPad back to factory setting, which I did via the iPad first, then via itunes with the restore function, and finally via Xcode with the Restore iPad function. All of which restore my iPad to it original state with the exception of cellular data. I am still getting the same problem, with no fix in sight.
    Has anyone else had this issue, and if so have you been able to fix it?
    I've also pulled the device log where I see some issues around the cellular data connection.

    Wow. Sorry to hear that. You shouldn't need any special applications.
    I've enjoyed the Verizon network.  AT&T doesn't have coverage in Nebraska and other rural areas I visit and Verizon does. 
    I was impressed with the Verizon technical support people I talked to - called the 800 number that comes up on the iPad. I tried but can't get to the number now that everything is working.

    Never been impressed with anyone at Best Buy - though I bought my iPad at one.

  • How do I fix the below sync issue between iPhoto, iTunes, my iPad2/iPhones

    I am having this issue with iPhoto'11. I had the issue at one point in iPhoto '09 but eventually I fixed it but I don't know how. I was told it's a problem with my iPhoto library.
    Here's the problem: When syncing with either my iPad2/iPhone4/iPhone3GS it tells me not all photos were were synced to my devices because there is not enough space, even though there clearly is enough space. I don't think it happens with my AppleTV2 but maybe that's because it's streaming, not syncing, to my ATV2.
    Any thoughts on how to fix? I'm also seeing that only the places and albums icons are included within the photo app on each device. Do I need to somehow repair my iPhoto library?

    Make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and try the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
    1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
    2 - delete iPhoto's cache files that are located in your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
    3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
    NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
    Fix #2
    Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select options #1 and #6.

    This is what I have discovered. If I purchase an app that I've never purchased before it does download to both devices. Seems to only work when a never before used app is downloaded. If I have previously downloaded an app before I began using iCloud to sync multiple devices the apps don't appear on all devices.

    About ~20 hours later, this ended up solving itself. We can send email using the '.icloud' email from both the iPad and iPhone.  Advise would be 'wait' before you start seeking alteranatives like yahoo, hotmail, etc.  This definitely is a convenient way to keep all your 'cloud' information in a centralized place, including the common email...
