IPad3 and MacBook Pro won't pair

They connect; proper codes appear on both devices; dialogue box says pairing unsuccessful, most likely to to incorrect codes?

Hello:
To my knowledge, BT pairing an iPad with a Mac will not work.  Look at peer-to-peer knowledge base articles provided on this web site.

CD will not eject and MacBook Pro won't restart.

Do a SMC reset, that hopefully should get you booting and while booting, hold the option/alt and trackpad button down at the same time. Once a row of icons appears and if the disk hasn't ejected via the trackpad method, then press the eject key on the keyboard until it does.
Click the arrow to boot up OS X.

If this doesn't work, then take the machine in for service.

Start up Disk full and MacBook Pro won't reboot.  Only white screen but can sleep, restart, shut down.

Reboot into Safe Mode (hold the shift key down at the sound of the chime, release when the progress bar appears) Safe Mode will take longer to boot than normal.

    He means a WiFi network.
    So?
Why do you need the Internet to connect to iTunes?

With this sort of attitude, any function at all that is missing in your opinion would "simply be software programming".
The point is that someone has to program this function and maintain it as well.
    This costs money...
There are separate Bluetooth apps available.
An app cannot add Bluetooth profiles that iOS does not have.
OK, that's it then ... no Bluetooth possible in this particular case!

  • Macbook pro won't pair with iphone

    Hi folks,
I have an iphone 4S running 7.0.3 and a Macbook pro with newly installed Mavericks.
I have failed to get the Maps app on the Macbook to find the iphone to send directions.
Now when I try to 'pair' the two devices with Bluetooth they can see each other but refuse to stay connected.
Two problems or possibly one causing the other.
    Any help would be appreciated.

You are quite correct that Bluetooth isn't the usual method - in truth I'm frustrated that the Maps app on the Macbook won't find the iPhone to send to.. Therefore I have tried to 'link' the two devices by any means and tried Bluetooth almost as a last resort.
Both devices are connected to the cloud and I have checked that I have up to date OSs on both.
chattphotos - your screen shot is bang on - but it should have one or more devices listed as well to send the info / map to.  That's where it is falling short and hence my attempts to 'find' the iPhone.
ChrisJ4203 - I'm sure you are correct as well. Bluetooth probably isn't the correct method, however I'm struggling to find what is.

  • Bluetooth in MacBook Pro won't pair with anything

Hello all.  I have two MacBook Pros, each about 6 months old.  They are both running the latest version of Lion.  Neither one will pair with any bluetooth device.  I always get an error message saying "this device does not have the necessary services".  What does this mean, and how can I fix it?
I have a Canon printer that won't pair, and I thougth it was just a compatibility issue until I tried to pair a Jawbone Jambox (which used to pair), and a brand new Bose portable speaker.  I get the same message every time.
Bluetooth on the computer finds the device,  but can't go through with the pairing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jadrb

I just got a Creative D100 bluetooth speaker and am having the exact same problem you had. Speaker pairs just fine with my ipad, but won't work with MacBook giving me same "This device does not have the necessary services" error message. Have you found a solution yet?

  • Macbook Pro won't pair with my existing Bluetooth Mouse.

I used a bluetooth mouse with my macbook pro and had no problems. Since the lastest Mountain Lion Updapte (10.8.2), the laptop finds the mouse but the pairing with the device doesn't work. I've changed the batteries and restarted the laptop several times. Any suggestions other than buying a new bluetooth mouse?

I didnt know what it was so i just let it disappear. Then a few minutes later it pops up again the same thing. I wrote down some of the name but i need it to pop up again. How can i get it to pop up again so i can see the name. Thanks.

  • Full Battery and MacBook Pro won't turn on

So I was working on my MacBook Pro making a slide show and my other computer needed some power so I unplugged my Pro and plugged it into my other computer. After about five minutes my MacBook Pro just shut down. I don't know what happened, but the power is full and when I press the power button it doesn't do anything. It's almost like the power button doesn't even work. Any help would be very appreciated!! I really need to get this slideshow done!

I recently had a very similar problem...  Last Monday I had been using my MBP for a presentation and by the end of the presentation my battery was DEAD.  That was ok b/c I wasn't planning on doing anything else that night...  The problem came the next day when AFTER CHARGING it would still not turn on. After trying ALL DAY to get my computer to start up, I finally had my mom take it out to the Apple Store and you probably won't like the answer that I got re: my MBP...
They said that there as a lot of dust that had gotten into it (I had had a couple of keys that had come off of my keyboard) They also said that the only way to get it working again was to do a COMPLETE & TOTAL OVERHAUL OF MY COMPUTER at a whopping cost of $1140.00 since a) my AppleCare expired in March and b) they said that there appeared to also be a little bit of OLD water damage!!
Because I am disabled and the only "work" that I do is volunteer for the non-profit organization that my mom & I founded (Dreams Fulfilled Through Music) I certainly don't have an extra $1140 sitting around to repair this!
What I finally ended up doing was going to a outside authorized Apple Repair Center where they removed the HD from my MBP (that runs 10.7.4) and put it into an enclosure so that I could still access my data (since my mom has an identical MBP).  this only cost me $114 and will allow me to save up for the repairs and or replacement of my computer.
The problem that I ran into now is that b/c my mom is almost constantly using her computer, I had to try to start up my older MBP with the external HD from my 3yr old MBP.  Unfortunately, my older MBP only has 2.16GHz of Processor speed & 2 GB of RAM and unfortunately is only running 10.4.11!! When I plugged in the external HD, I was able to see the drive & it's contents but when I attempted to "Start Up" this laptop from that disk w/ Mac OS X 10.7.4 on it, this laptop wouldn't recognize the new version of Mac OS X and thus wouldn't start up from that disk.
I've just about decided that I this (now 6 yr old computer) is SIMPLY NOT CAPABLE of starting up from the HD that was taken out of my newer (3 yr old) MBP!!
Does anyone know if this is in fact the case?
I truly hope that this is not the case with your MBP but I figured since our experiences were SO SIMILAR that I should at least share with you what AppleCare Geniuses told me about my computer!
I also hope that someone can also answer my question about starting up my older laptop from the newer HD.
    Take Care

  • Pink screen and MacBook Pro won't boot

yesterday evening I did a software update (which I do regularly), this morning I had a white and pink screen. after pushing the spacebar a few times I goy a status bar saying moving data which was almost finished (5mm left) 5 hours later I still was at that point.
Afte rebooting the since I do have to work it boots to the point where I see an Apple and a spinning wheel. The wheel keeps spinning forever and it won't boot.
I tried rebooting, clearing pram, nvram etc nothing helps.
I booted with shift pressed and could chose between a number of things but on no case Internet was accessible.
Time machine only offered to reset to last Friday ERASING all my work from the past weekend and Monday.
    Nothing else worked.
I don't know why an upate of wifi should ruin my day and possible my week.
I have the timemachine as last resort, but I want my macbook pro to boot decent to get to my data.
I'm now over 10 hours wasting my time and I'm at a point I might commit a crime if I would meet the delevoper of Apple who made this update.
    Any suggestions?
    regards
    Lode

I can connect to the Macbook Pro in target mode, but it still won't boot.
there should be a way of fixing the OSX without losing data.
    Somebody HELP?

  • HP Envy 120 printer and Macbook Pro won't talk to each other...

    Hi
I have a shiny new printer and a fairly new Macbook Pro and simply cannot get my printer to 'talk' to my Mac.
The printer is connected to our home internet and the Internet report you can print off says everything is fine.
We have done the Apple > Software update etc to make sure the latest drivers etc are installed. (For info, we are on OS X 10.8.5). However, when we then try to print something, it comes up as no printer installed and there is no 'nearby printer' showing, which I believe should be showing there. (We have tried adding manually, too, using various settings and can't do it that way, either.)
When this didn't work, we downloaded the relevant driver from the HP site (to see if this would help, but it didn't).
After downloading the driver, we go through the installation process and what happens is that it doesn't have our printer listed and asks that we connect our printer. When we connect it, it recognises it and we then proceed. It then says your printer is now connected and you may remove your device. When we remove it, it then does not have any device listed and we cannot progress any further. Stuck in an infinite loop...
Also, firewall and security settings are fine.
I've also restored default settings on printer etc and started over a number of times.
Any help would really be appreciated.

  • ITunes and MacBook Pro won't recognize 2 gen iPod

I'm trying to sync my 2nd gen iPod to my MacBook Pro.  It won't come up in the Finder or on iTunes.  I've done the suggestions I found online but still can't connect.  I've never had a problem before.  Any other suggestions?

Make sure you're running the most current version of itunes. Update if you have not done so, then:
Follow the steps here to remove & reinstall the AMDS to see if itunes will see your phone:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1747
You won't be able to do anything until itunes recognizes your phone. Once that is done, restore the phone as a "new" device in itunes. This should remove the software used to jailbreak the phone.

  • Black Loading Gear And MacBook Pro won't start

I recently installed a third party application on my macbook pro. When i reboot i see a black loading gear and then after about 12-15 seconds my screen flashes and the gear freezes. i have tried booting in safe mode, repairing drive, PRAM reset. Really all the basics. I am now reinstalling Mavericks in hope of fixing this problem. If anyone has any sugestions please let me know. No ideas of anything involving loasing any data because i do not have any back ups of these files.

"They asked me for $100 just to open it! Is that normal and *should I get a replacement for free?"*
Replacement computer? Under *specific conditions* if your computer is still under its one year warranty and/or you have AppleCare.
As for charging you $100 just to open your computer up, you should NOT be charged if its confirmed that your computer has the faulty Nvidia graphics chipset. Make a copy of the KB Article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2377 *MacBook Pro: Distorted video or no video* issues and take it to the repair shop.
    "Should I email apple?"
Nope! You will not get an answer. You can call Customer Relations in your country. Not sure of the procedure in Singapore. Call Apple tech support in your country. Ask politely & firmly to be transferred over to the Customer Relations department.
    Good luck!

  • 10.5.7 and Macbook Pro won't reboot!!

I've updated to 10.5.7 this morning and my system is just sitting here rebooting over and over. It brings up the Apple logo without the spinning wheel, sits for 5 minutes, then reboots again... just does it over and over again.
Can anyone tell me what I might do to force it to reboot?
    Thanks,
    glenn

This works on an MBP? Because when I hold down the shift key and press power button nothing happens. I hold and hold and it just sits there with a white screen. When I release, I get the apple that just sits forever and never moves. What is the exact procedure for doing this?
    Thanks,
    glenn
