IPad3 broken or hacked?

Ipad 3 suddenly starts up every app and types in unknown data within seconds, then flashes on to the all other apps including Safari and sites I have visited.  When I try to close any app there is not enough time.  Could it be a bad sim card or some kind of outside hack?  Bought the ipad 3 directly thru Apple and never had any problems before.  MacBook Air and Iphone are all running fine.  Obviousy, tried turning off and on, charging, etc. and it continues to happen so I am just leaving it turned off for now.  Any ideas are appreciated.

This is not a hack. My guess would be a hardware problem, but try some basic troubleshooting first.
First, try resetting your device. Press and hold both the home button and the sleep/wake button for about 10 seconds, until the screen turns off. Ignore the slider that will appear. Release the buttons, then press and hold the sleep/wake button until the Apple logo appears. This is the equivalent of a reboot, and should not affect your data or apps.
If that doesn't help, try restoring your device from backups, and if that doesn't help, restore it to factory settings (ie, do not restore a backup). See:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
If none of that helps, the issue is caused by some kind of hardware problem, and the device will need to be repaired or (more likely) replaced.

  • My AppStore is broken or hacked

    Please help me someone I go on App Store and says can't connect to App Store the wifi is fully functional and on and when I go on Game Center it says when I try download an app off it connot download app because connected to server pretending to be iTunes.apple.com

    When troubleshooting iTunes Store connection issues, the following articles provide the best information:
    First, try signing out of your account in Settings > iTunes & App Store. Once signed out, go ahead and sign back in.
    iOS: Changing the signed-in iTunes Store Apple ID account
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1311
    If the above did not resolve your issue, refer to the following:
    Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368
    If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
    - Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking on Check for Update in your device's Summary page in iTunes.
    - Check and verify that you are in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you are on a 3G capable device, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
    - Check to make sure you have an active internet connection. You can check the User Guide for your device for help with connecting to the internet.
    - Check to make sure other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the internet.
    - Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router
    - If the issue still persists see, iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections or iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections.

  • App scam in progress or hacked developer account

    Hi all,
    How do I report a scam in the App Store? Or it could be that an iTunes developer account was broken or hacked into. The app called "A True Level" has been priced around $2 for 90+ days. According to AppSniper, the app is on "sale" for $20 down from $100. in the iTunes App Store the price is currently $19.99. Either the developer is trying to pull a scan or their account has hacked into.
    I do now see were to report a concern unless the app has been purchased. I'm trying to stop someone from getting ripped off. Hopefully, I've put enough buzzwords in this message to catch the eye of the forum moderators.
    Thanks!
    Steven

    If you believe that the app is or has been mispriced, you should contact the developer:
    http://www.hamwayapps.com//Tip_Jar_%26_Truelevel.html
    They can contact the App Store and work out the problem, if one exists. Note that they appear to have two versions, the full version and a "free" version which used to cost $2.99 but was dropped to free back in November, from what I've read. So there may be no "scam" going on, just some confusion between the now-free and paid versions.

    Hello, please how would i replace my ipad3 broken screen

    Out-of-Warranty Service
         If you own an iPad that is ineligible for warranty service but is eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service, Apple will replace (Apple doesn't repair) your iPad with an iPad that is new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability for the Out-of-Warranty Service fee listed below. • IPad AppStore not downloading apps

    For some reason i was downloading free apps on my ipad just fine a few minutes ago and now the App Store wont download any new apps! It downloads recent apps just fine but when i tap the free button on the app i want and put in my password it says waiting for a few seconds and then it says free again and doesn't download the app. the iOS is updated to the most recent version, I'm only using half of the system memory, my wifi is fine, I've tried logging in and out of my account, switched off iCloud, rebooted the iPad, and still it won't download new apps. My ipad isn't jail broken or hacked and I'm not going to set it back to factory setting because 1. its protected by my dad's password and 2. I have stuff that I want to keep that I'll loose if I reset it to factory setting. Plz help? I've tried downloading any free app on the App Store and it does the same thing.

    What app are you trying to download?

  • Space on iPhone screen where app should be...

    I have posted once before, and I got nobody to respond.
    I have a space on my iPhone where it looks like an application should be located. I searched...searched...searched, and the only place I see anything similar is on a blog (nobody reads).
    See http://wordpress.pocosin.com/?p=453
    See that black space? I have one on my iPhone too. I have not "broken" or "hacked" my phone like the blogger (I see cydia on the screen). Anyone know what the space is or how to get rid of it?

    ".....my brand new Macbook pro....."
    Contact Apple Support immediately so they can start a case number. It's under warranty--your time is better spent working directly with Apple. Starting a case is your documentation that something happened under warranty--if the problem recurs outside of warranty, you and Apple both have evidence that it started during the warranty period.
    These are user-to-user forums so Apple are not going to post official tech support here, nor respond to posts.

  • IPad3 ios 7 wifi broken

    Upgraded to ios7 via Settings > General > Software Update on an iPad3 (wifi + verizon 4g) and now Wifi is totally broken.
    Symptoms include seeing only a few hot spots and then they disappear even though we are standing right underneath the AP (my ios7 upgrade on my iphone 4s went flawlessly)
    Trying to connect directly to the wireless AP (public one) by entering in the AP manually results in a couple distinct errors: Cannot Find The Network and "Cannot Scan For Wireless Networks"
    I performed a full factory reset and now absolutely nothing. Cannot set up my ipad via wifi -or- cellular. Any ideas? I could try to sync with iTunes once i get home to see if that solves the problem.

    I have the same problem.  WiFi is pretty much unusable at the moment since the update.  Ipad 3 and Iphone 5 slow as a wet week.  Every other device in my house is working fine.

    Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
    ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5 and 5C. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.

  • Replacing broken 3g with a privately purchased g3 (no hacks)

    I am purchasing a used 3g iPhone from a friend after he recently upgraded to the 3gs, because I have a cracked screen from a drop (still works fine).
    What to I have to do with ATT to swap phones, anything? Do I pull the sim chip out, place it in the new one, and activate it through iTunes, then restore one of my backups? Is it that simple?
    I have applecare (just under one year left on the warranty) on the original cracked phone, and I am assuming they will not transfer it to the used phone I am purchasing. A genius stated I can contact applecare and they will 'refund' the unused portion of the applecare. Anyone out there have any experience with this?
    Both phones are 16 GB 3g, both locked on ATT (no hacks).
    Thanks for any information you can throw at me.
    Spinner

    I'm exhausted... Apple support have been a nightmare, 4 calls, first hung up on me, second was on for 30 minutes before telling me to contact a company that have not worked with apple in months but still keep getting calls, then on again to be told to submit via the web form, which never sent me a confirmation email and when I check the case number it says that it's empty.. tried phoning again and this time the girl on the end can't understand me (I'm a deployment engineer for a telecomms company and travel very widely worldwide but have never ever found it this difficult to have someone understand me).
    I'm going to sit in a corner and cry now.

  • Ipad2 and Ipad3, cannot see Ipad2 user - worked ok for months, now broken. Like to know how to upgrade Ipad2 to IOS 5.1.1 (too many issues with IOS 6 - consider too risky)?

    I have been using Facetime successfully for months to communicate with my elderly mother in the UK (I am located in Canada)? Today we tried Facetime and we could hear each other but I could not see her. She could see me ok however.
    As I wasn't sure whether the problem was with my iPad or hers I made a FaceTime call to my brother-in-law in the UK, this call worked perfectly. I then tried a Factime call with a friend in Canada and it also worked fine.
    My mother could see herself in the small window so we know that her camera must be working.
    Here are the IOS versions for the four IOS devices used in these tests..
    My mothers iPad 2: IOS 4.3.5
    Brother-in-law's iPad 3: IOS 5.1.1
    Friends iPhone: IOS 6
    My iPad 3: IOS 5.1.1
    My questions are as follows:
    Q1/ Has anyone heard of Facetime problems between newer and older iPads as a result of Apple rolling out IOS 6 recently?
    (maybe there have been some changes to the FaceTime servers as part of the IOS 6 rollout?)
    Q2/ Is it possible to update my Mothers iPad 2 (IOS 4) to IOS 5.1.1 and do this without using a computer? (I would prefer her to update to 5.1.1 and hold off updating to 6 because of all the issues I read of users having problems with 6, including FaceTime issues)
    My mother is in her 70's, and has no computing device other than her iPad. She can just about manage to figure out how to use the basic features of her iPad. Therefore the update process needs to be very easy and straightforward otherwise she is likely to get very confused, very quickly!
    Facetime has been brilliant for my mother and keeping in touch with her son, thousands of miles away, we would really like to get Facetime working again.
    Can anyone  help?

    You will not be able to block IOS 6.  You can try blocking it with a webfilter or firewall but if the students take these home or connect to another network or iTunes they can get it that way.   You will find that the vast majority of all apps will work with 6 or have been updated to work with it by now.

  • How do I know if my router is broken or has been hacked?

    I have a WRT54G and it stopped working. It's wifi gives off a single but no one can connect to it, and neither can I. The only way I can get online is by directly hooking my computer into my modem. I've reset the factory defaults and made my domain name my isp (satx.rr.com) Are there any other settings I need to fill in so I can get online? Thanks.

    1)connect the modem to the router's internet port and the computer to the port#1
    2)from the wired computer ,access the router using http://192.168.1.1 .. the default login password is admin
    3)on the web ui , click on the "mac add clone" subtab , enable it and click clone..save the settings and do a power cycle
    4)go to the "status" tab and check whether it has a valid internet ip add
    5)if there is one , try going online ..

  • CFChart images broken when creating a PDF document with SSL

    I have a report that I create with Coldfusion, that includes a number of CFChart objects.  I recently installed a new SSL certificate, and now all the charts show up as broken links.   It shows up fine if I try and display this as HTML. On the chance it was something weird about my (lengthly) report, I created the following sample code that I saved in a file called foo.cfm:
    <cfset sDir = "C:/">
    <cfset filename = "foo123.pdf">
    <cfdocument format="pdf" filename="#filename#" overwrite="yes" marginleft=".7" margintop=".3" backgroundvisible="yes">
    TEST 12345
    <br>
    <br>
    <div style="height:500px;float:right; margin-left:10px; margin-top:10px; margin-right:10px; margin-bottom:10px;">
        <cfchart
            format="png"
            chartwidth="400"
            chartheight="360"
            showborder="no"
            databackgroundcolor="##ffffff"
            fontbold="yes"
            sortxaxis="no"
            yoffset=".1"
            scaleto="100"
            showmarkers="no"
            show3d="no"
            fontsize="11"
              >
        <cfchartseries type="bar" datalabelstyle="none" seriescolor="##00CC99" paintstyle="shade">
        <cfchartdata item="B" value="40">
        <cfchartdata item="A" value="50">
        <cfchartdata item="E" value="80">
        <cfchartdata item="S" value="30">
        </cfchartseries>
        </cfchart>
    </div>
    </cfdocument>
    <cfoutput>
    <a href="#filename#" target="_blank">Foo</a>
    </cfoutput>
    If I go to the URL https://www.mywebsite.com/foo.cfm, the foo.pdf file shows a broken link.  If instead I go to http://www.mywebsite.com/foo.cfm the image of the chart shows up just fine.
    The weird thing is that I have an older server running CF9.0.0.  On this server it works just fine.  On another server with 9.0.1, it breaks.  Same with 9.0.2, and CF 10.
    I read something about needing to install the cert in a keystore, and I did this but it changed nothing.  The image is still broken in the pdf.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.  We have been able to work around the issue by posting the image in a non-secure location, but this seems like a hack, not a proper solution.

    Hi Anit, thanks for the feedback.  I did try this on a different server, using the instructions here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/import-certificates-certificate-stores-coldfusion.htm l
    and then restarted ColdFusion, but it didn't seem to fix the issue.  How would I check that the certificate has been correctly imported?  Also, how can I define what URL Coldfusion uses to get the images it creates with CFChart?   Though it seems to me this should "just work" by default, if I've followed the steps correctly, and I should have to edit any config files.

  • My MacBook air is hacked.

    Hi !
    I need some help. From someone with really great knowledge and connections.
    (but I'm going to write a bad question (maybe) because I'm fed up with idiotic know-how insides like "how to write a good question". a question is always good, mind you. But I don't know if I should post it in another topic, if so, feel free to fix that, anyone, thx).
    I just bought a mac book air, and strange things are happening.
    For instance, the computer would block, I can't click anywhere with any result for sth like 30 sec. It's brand new. I've just unpacked it.
    Or the bookmarks in safari were strange, because there was my own bank in it (+ apple + google maps + wikipedias + misc.). (I'm not suffering any memory affection or anything).
    Or I just did a research with google (sim city) and results appeared with "Disney" in the research field.
    To set the scene, my Facebook and Twitter accounts are quite often hacked, with the same subtle processes. (like" they" or God maybe, someone who's not me, would add some followers supposedly added a few weeks ago, and so on). I think  I'm being followed by a few excited engineers with great extended connections  (because (probably) I filed a case against them, for...harassment. (It's been going on for a few years and I'm really, really tired, given that they used the info they got to destroy my life , social relations and career )
    I can't believe a just-bought-just-started computer could be hacked so easily. Although I had logged into my apple account. And they got my Ip address. But the only things I downloaded were uploads from the app store.
    How can you prove your computer is being hacked?
    Thank you (in advance and a lot) to anyone who can help.

    Hello, thanks for answering !
    I don't know what they want, and I can't make you understand how it feels to be constantly "spied" on whatever you're doing - especially work when you're not someone who believes she does everything right or ever will or ever wants to be that kind of person. They made me lose hours and hours with my printer, lose documents, and so on.
    If you were a hacker, benwiggy you'd be caught. Probably. On the long term, that is.
    If you push the game too much, then it's too obvious and cops will have to react. It won't last. It's much more fun to drive someone mad with no possibility to assert her basic rights, for lack of proofs. (therefore the quicktime solution is not a bad one, although it does not fix everything. Yesterday I got a video of my mouse moving by itself right in the middle of something I was doing (entering an email address) on this computer but still, it's no obvious proof, I could have done it myself (say you're typing extremely fast with just one hand, using the other to click right on the other field).
    It's much more efficient than crashing a hard drive.And not less annoying. And  I did crash my hard drive  all by myself, twice, after several complete reinstallation of mac os on my previous computer. And then, I was so annoyed by their little game that I banged my fist on the computer, which did not prove convincing. At the end of the day, that's two hard drives and one complete machine broken, just on me.
    Anyway, speaking about it is a good defensive mean, so thank you.
    I think people should know about this category of hacking. It's quite disgusting. I would prefer a good hacker attack, with a pirate boat flashing several times on my screen, and then the whole thing exploding.That would be sort of fair piracy. (But mines are cowards).
