Ipad3 IOS6 Failed

Hello,
My last three apple devices failed to update to iOS 6 with error -1 All three had to recover / restore however, after recoving I discoverd they were at iOS 6 strange...
Upon further review of the logs I noticed the following;
Any thoughts?

I think your device were modified (Jailbroken). Restoring takes place when iTunes must have installed a copy of iOS 6 ISPW file and installed to the iDevices when you restored it.

Whatsapp is not compatible with iPads. You can't install it.

IPad2 with iOS6 fails to join network

Hi.
I've recently installed in our office two AIR AP 1142N, ios 12.4(25d)JA1 and no controller.
Got ssid for guest access with open wpa2-psk.
Problem is with connecting ipads2 to this ssid.
For the first time, problem was with no network access on them, even if they were connected to ssid. This problem was solved by enabling "no preamble-short" on the interface.
By far, everything was perfect, but recently, Apple releases iOS6 and users who update theirs ipads2, lost any ability to connect to this ssid. It just gives an error "Unable to join the network" after typing ssid key. On iphones with iOS6 everything is well.
What is really strange, and why I post this on this forum and not on the apple, this problem is only on the one AP. On the second- everything is fine, ipads connecting perefectly. Both AP got exactly tha same config and ios version. I deployed second by uploading config from the first.
Already tried upload config from "working" AP to the second-nothing changes.
Be glad for any suggestions.

It's too early to say the problem was related to Cisco APs, or even any other brand's APs. Apple is still struggling with a number of issues after the release of iOS 6 and the iPhone 5, not least of which is Wi-Fi connectivity.

HT201328 An unlocked Optus iPhone 4s which accepted a Telstra SIM whilst on IOS6 failed to accept the Testra SIM after an upgrade to IOS7. Many visits to the Optus Shop and the Apple Store have failed to resolve the issue.

An "Out of Contract" Optus iPhone 4S accepted and worked perfectly with a Telstra SIM.
Following an upgrade to IOS7.0.4 the iPhone 4S will no longer work with the Telsta SIM.
The following error message is recieved
“The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported”
Apple Store Genius Bar on checking the 4S iphone in the Apple database indicate that the Service Details Policy is assigned to “Australia Optus (Singtel)” and only Optus can unlock it.
Optus indicate that teh iPhone is unlocked and I have a stalmate as noone is able to advise how to rectify the issue.
A checkof teh Telstra SIM was undertaken on another IOS6 Optus 4S iPhone and it functioned correctly.
I am aware others have had this issue as there is a reference to it on the Optus Support Community.
It means that an international SIM cannot be used in teh iPhone until the issue is resolved
I am of teh opinion teh it is an IOS7 software upgrade issue not a problem with teh harware or the carrier

Since the iPhone is carrier locked with Optus, the only way it could work with another carrier's SIM card and service under iOS 6 was by hacking/jailbreaking the iPhone to unlock it. Installing an iOS update on an iPhone that was hacked to be unlocked re-locks the iPhone to the carrier it was sold as carrier locked with when new.
All Optus carrier locked iPhones are not unlocked with iOS 7.
Only the carrier an iPhone was sold as carrier locked with can officially unlock the iPhone, or send the unlock request to Apple on the owner's behalf. Since Apple's database shows the iPhone as being locked with Optus, Optus must send the unlock request to Apple for the iPhone. When the unlock process is ready, the unlocking is done with iTunes on your computer. This is the only way a carrier locked iPhone can be officially unlocked.

Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

This has happened to me too! Whatever I do isnt working! Have phoned Apple 3 times and each assistant has given me something new to do and none of them worked! So frustrating!
The help the support website gives is useful, and what they go through with you anyway. Other than that I was advised to try a new cable or USB port or try another computer to restore it on and then 'back it up from restore' on my computer after..
Hope one of these helps you guys! They were no good to me but you never know!!

IPad3 "mirroring" video on external monitor

Hi, My iPad3 does not "mirror" when I play an MP4 video using the iPad's Video player, through my Apple VGA adaptor. The external monitor mirrors just fine until I play a video, then the picture is only seen on the monitor, not the iPad. The iPad says "TV connected" when the video is playing. Why is this? Same result with my iPhone 4S with IOS6.

Don;t know about that particular one, but "Video DL" does keep playng the video on the iPad while it plays on the screen or TV.
Though you would need to have the video in the App, or somewhere it can access it for the App to play it.

hi, there, i got my iphone4 updated via wifi n its downloaded, its shows when i check the software update n when i install it, it shows verifying the software n after a couple of seconds comes back with "error while installing ios6" failed so many attempts and even tried to reset the phone, but no use, then i tried latest updated itunes too, can u believe it, it took ages to download n when it was 880mb of the 899mb file, error occured , so many failed attempts, can some one tell me what to do ? are there any issues with iphone4 updates? m scared to update it now, but really wanna get it on my phone.

I have experienced a similar error with the iPhone 4S. The new version of iTunes will not let me restore the phone, it must be updated and nothing appears to be happening. Suffice it to say I am not amused. Apple needs to work this out - I had trouble updating to 8.0.2 as well.

Problem with winmail.dat Attachments in our company

First, i did read all Entries in this Community about winmail.dat, but there's no entry for my problem.
We use exchange server 2010 and outlook 2010. All Mails are written as HTML-Mails. There's no RTF Mails in our company.
The problem ist, our cio ist using a ipad with a hotmail mal address and most mails with attachments arrives as winmail.dat on the ipad.
But not all!
I could verify, that a Mail with doc, pdf, xls attachments was opened ok on a iphone4s (with ios6) but showed as winmail.dat on ipad3 (ios6) at the same time!
Has anyone a explanation to this?

Winmail.dat files are attachments sent by Microsoft mail applications (Outlook, Outlook Express or Exchange) on a proprietary RTF format called TNEF (transport neutral encapsulation format).
An e-mail containing an winmail.dat attachment looks like an empty e-mail with only one attachment. The original e-mail information like subject, body and attachments is packed into a single winmail.dat file, which in some cases also receives a generic name like information01.dat.
If you wanna open it, you should download a winmail viewer.

it is under the "other" and "swf processing" section of total frame time.

Hi,
We have a iPad 3 application that loads a LOT of remote swfs that is used for graphics only, but we are getting slower fps for every swf loaded.
The remote swfs are between 8-10kb and have only 1 frame and no tweens or code, and when they are loaded we stop them(mc.stop()) and set both enabled and visible to false and never add them to the displaylist.
And as the attached image shows, "Running SWF tags for frame" seems to take all the frame time, the image shows when the app is idle.
Is it possible to disable a swf completly?

Sort photos on iPad 3

I have all my photos sorted by title in iphoto, synced with ipad3 ios6 photos app, and photos appear to be sorted by date. any ideas?

I wish they were sorted by date on my iPad. There doesn't seem to be any way to rearrange photos in iPhoto or in the Photos app.

I can't open (show)the attachment pdf or doc in the IPhone 5

When I try to open a mail attachment pdf then the screen chang but I can't see the pdf file. Also with doc and xls. When I open the same mail attachment in my IPad3 iOS6 its working fine.

Hmmmm...... It seems off..... but I also have just realised I haven't actually recieved any files (PDF, Word, Excel etc) since I got my iPhone on Friday.
I'm going to test in now.
(Also on this forum..... 99.9% of the time a hard reset seems to work haha!)

IPad3 Upgrade iOS6.1 failed with -1

Because there was one pending APP blocked update any other upgrade and it couldn't be removed and reinstalled any more in my iPad.
I want to upgrade my iPad3[WiFi 32GB] from iOS5.1.1 to iOS6.1 by latest iTune yesterday.
Thus, I download iOS6.1 and recovery with the latest iOS6.1
First, I got ERROR 2002 from iTune. I found there are some other USB device on my laptop[Windows7 x64].
After I removed other USB devices. and retry the upgrade. I got ERROR -1 from iTune and my iPad show iTune and USB icon when I opened it.
I don't know how to fix current issue and upgrade to iOS6.1 now.

Before I updated iOS with iTune, I could see there is iOS6.1 update from setting panel.
After I got iTune update ERROR 2002, my iPad couldn't enter update panel again. [I don't remember the details message now.]
And then, I removed USB devices and retried upgrade, iTune return ERROR -1 and I don't know how to exit the recovery mode. [ I tried to click power button long time to shutdown it and click the button again to boot it. It only show me the iTune and USB icon]
Maybe, I think I don't have chance to do update over the air.

If the photos that you are wanting to delete are also in your Camera Roll then you can delete them from the camera roll
