Ipages compatible with Microsoft word???

How do you save a document on ipages to make it compatible with microsoft word? I am trying to edit some pix that have an all black background to an all white background so i dont waste all that black ink. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Once you have the document how you want it, select Export from the File menu. Click on Word at the top of the dialog box that pops up, and click Next. Then it will bring up a standard save dialog and when you click Save it will save a Word document.

  • Will Apple Pages support a third-party font that is not compatible with Microsoft Word?

Will Apple Pages support a third-party font that is not compatible with Microsoft Word?  I do not want to purchase Pages unless I can use it for this one very specific purpose.  How can I determine the correct answer before purchase?
Many thanks for any guidance you can offer.

Hmmm ... I see the font in my Font Book and in Suitcase Fusion, but it doesn't appear on the list of fonts in either Word for Mac or Text Edit, no matter what I tried.  I attempted quitting all applications, cleaning the cache using Suitcase Fusion, and rebooting the computer, but no dice.
You think this is an installation or configuration problem my local Apple store could help fix ... not an underlying incompatibility?  If so, I will take it in.
Please know I sincerely appreciate the help.  I'm at my rope's end on a project this evening and truly grateful for the reinforcement.  Thank you.

  • Best free Word Processor that's compatible with Microsoft Word?

hey guys, i'm looking at moving over to the Mac in a couple days and i just need to know the best free Word Processor that can open .doc files. 99% of my docs made in Word are of the 97-2003 variety and not 2007's .docx.
    appreciate any  help.
    thanks

Well, in terms of best, it might be argued the best would be MS Word for Mac (MS Office for Mac 2011) as it uses the same native format as the window's version of office.
Others that are compatible include Apple's own Pages - http://www.apple.com/apps/pages/
Then there are the free offerings, like openoffice - http://www.openoffice.org/ and others.
I do not honestly know if there is one single "best" as there are so many possible specific features and formating oddities in MS Word that it is impossible to say that any one otherwise generally MS-Word-compatible program is guaranteed to be 100% compatible with your specific documents.

  • Does my brand new untouched macbook pro come with a program compatible with Microsoft word

does pages come on a new macbook pro and is it compatible with ms word

Pages & the other iWork apps are not included with new Macs, you must purchase them. They are very reasonably priced in the Mac App Store.
TextEdit can open & save .doc files. You'll find it in your applications folder. If you want a free suite of apps compatible with Office, look at LibreOffice.

  • Be Warned - Mavericks is not compatible with Microsoft Office 365!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be Warned - Mavericks is not compatible with Microsoft Office 365!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I upgraded to Mavericks on 4 seperate computers, an 2 iMacs, MBPro and an MBAir and ALL four no longer connect to Microsoft Office 365 email accounts either with Office 2011 or the built in Mac apps.  Apple support says "Microsoft knew for a year that Mavericks was coming out and it their job to make it compatible".  I repsonded that their own Apps like Mail, Contacts and Calendar don't work either and they attempted to trouble shoot those apps only to no avail after 4 hours and a Mavericks reinstall.  I have also tried an Office reinstall.
Right now I am no where, stuck between two companies who say it's the other guys fault......

    Me again:
A colleagues more formal description of the problem:
We have had a major problem with people working directly off of the afp reshares with MS Word.
Word creates "Word Work Files" and usually is able to store them in either "Share/Temporary Items/uid/TemporaryItems/" or "Share/.TemporaryItems/folders.uid/TemporaryItems" as long as permissions are correct.
This works under 10.5.7 seed release 9J39 with direct attached storage, but with the Xsan reshared the word work files appear in the same folder as the opened document even though the permission for temporary items are correct.
This causes a number of issues, one being that if one user has a document open and another clears out the word work file then the open document cannot be saved.
Another issue that we have seen is where the word work file is created and then the original document disappears (although I think this may be another user housekeeping the word work files again).
We have tried to persuade users to work on local copies of the documents instead, but old habits die hard...

  • Yosemite compatibility with microsoft word 2008

I had held off on upgrading to Mavericks because of the issues surrounding the compatibility with Microsoft Word 2008. I am a student and need to use Word to do my work as well as having all of my current documents, including my thesis, in 2008 format. I don't want to risk losing the information or the ability to do my work and I was wondering if there is any information about whether the issue of compatibility with this version had been fixed. I don't have the means to buy a new version of Microsoft but would very much like to be able to update my system since I am still using Mountain Lion.

There has been a better and free alternative to old versions of MS Word and MS Office since forever. Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1 is the latest version of a free and complete All-In-One document processor, spreadsheet, drawing, presentation, database, & formula software, found here: http://www.openoffice.org
It also reads, writes and translates MS Word, saves in many formats, and is pretty easy to use. It's entirely modern and compatible with all the latest Mac operating systems. Good luck.

It sounds to me that you are migrating from a PC computer to a Mac.
To the extent that you are using Microsoft Office on your PC, you should just purchase Microsoft Office 2011 for your Mac.  All of your Word, Excel and PowerPoint files should open easily in Office 2011.  Your contact/mail program, Outlook, is now also supported in Office 2011, but I personally have no experience in cross-platform data transfer for Outlook.  Somewith with cross-platform Outlook experience, please jump in!

  • Does iWork come with a form of powerpoint presentation compatible with Microsoft Office Powerpoint?

I recently bought a MacBook Pro and need to purchase iWork or Microsoft Office. Does iWork come with a form of powerpoint presentation? If so, is it easy to use and compatible with Microsoft Office presentation software? The latter question is extremely important as we use Microsoft Office primarily at the college.

Yes, Keynote is iWork's PowerPoint equivalent. You can save as a PowerPoint file as well. Very easy to use IMO.

  • A datasheet component compatible with Microsoft Sharepoint Foundation 2010 is not installed error

I have 2013 Office installed and using 2010 SharePoint Foundation.
The button 'Datasheet View' is available on the site but when clicked on I get this error:
The list cannot be displayed in Datasheet view for one or more of the following reasons:
    - A datasheet component compatible with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation is not installed.
    - Your Web browser does not support ActiveX controls.
    - A component is not properly configured for 32-bit or 64-bit support.
I have installed and repaired the Office Suite already, ActiveX is enabled in the browser etc.
I have also enabled the Microsoft Add-ons.
Installed on Windows Server 2008 R2.
How can I solve this issue?

    Hi,
    1. The Edit
in Datasheet view functionality in SharePoint Server 2010 is not supported if you install
64-bit Office 2013 client. The Edit in Datasheet functionality
is available if you install 32-bit Office 2013 client
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee681792.aspx
    2. Edit in data sheet view is not supported in 64 bit version of the i.e.
If I understand correctly you are trying to access site from the Windows server 2008 R2, the default OS installation will have two browsers. Open internet explorer that doesn't have (64 bit) in the bracket. The one with 64bit is not supported

  • How to open .doc files created with microsoft word 97... when using mac os x 10.7.4?

hi!  i'm using mac os x 10.7.4 and have Office 2011.  i can no longer open older documents (.doc) created with Microsoft Word 97...  What can i do to get access to these files?
    thanks in advance!

I had too many of these that I had to convert to a modern format. It isn't easy or consistent but one of these normally works:
    1. Open up Word and use the File/Open command rather than just double clicking on the file. Why does this sometimes work? I don't know! Save in docx format.
    2. Try opening the files in Office 2010 on a Windows machine. Again, immediately save as a docx file. This works more often than the advice above.
    3. Download the free LibreOffice and try opening it there. There will be some format problems but easily fixed. Once again, save in docx format.
    4. Breakdown and look for a dedicated format converter.

  • How do I send my pages attachment so that it will open for those with Microsoft word?

How do I send my pages attachment so that it will open for those with Microsoft Word?

    Hi Victoria,
Pages does not run on Windows.
Word cannot open a Pages file.
If you want someone without pages to be able to open your attachment, you will have to send it in a format openable on the recipient's computer.
If the recipient needs only to read the document, the most universal format is pdf. To send a pdf copy of your file, press command-P to open the Print dialogue, then click the PDF button and choose email PDF. This will open a new message in your default email client and attach the pdf file to that message.
If the recipient needs to be able to edit/change your document, and has MS Word, then either Save a copy as a Word file or go File > Export and choose Word as the file format for the export.
Be aware that MS Word does not support all features of Pages (and vice versa), and that formatting of the document may be affected by font substitution if you use fonts that are not available on the recipient's machine.
    Regards,
    Barry

  • Has anyone had issues with Microsoft Word or Excel requiring initial set-up again after a software update?

Has anyone had issues with Microsoft Word or Excel requiring a set-up after software udates?  I do not have product key, so unable to set up again.

This laptop has original Microsoft word & excel provided by Mac when purchased and is legal copy.
Do I understand you bought a Mac and it came with Microsoft Office?    I could be wrong, but I wasn't aware that was an option.  Or am I not parsing that sentence correctly and you bought a Mac and bought a legal copy of Office to install on it?  In which case, never mind.

I am switching to Apple macbook pro from Windows laptop.  Is Apple compatible with Microsoft Office?  How can I transport from Windows to Mac?  What I have saved on external hardrives, will I be able to open it on Mac?

Office for Mac, http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products, can open/edit/create Office documents. If your external drive is formatted NTFS then you can copy the Office documents to your computer and work on them. You won't be able to save the files back to your NTFS formatted drive. But you will be able to save the documents to your internal drive. You can move all the external files to your internal drive then format the external drive for Apple. Then you can copy the files back to your external drive for ongoing use.
