Thank you in advance. If you want to synchronize with a Spanish application on your PocketPC from the Mobile Server, or use Spanish MLS (Multi-Lingual-Services) on your PocketPC 9iLite database, then you must install the Mobile Server on host that is already configured in a Spanish version of the operating system. The language version must be supported by MLS.
The Mobile Server will be installed and subsequently operated (including synchronization) in the host's native language. This is how you make languages work in 9iLite 5.0.1. FYI: Oracle 9iLite is not NLS compliant however fully supports MLS functionality.

  • JVM & HP iPAQ with Windows Mobile 2003 SE

    Hi,
what kind of JVM can I use on HP iPAQ with Windows Mobile 2003 SE. I don't know what configuration should I use, if CLDC or CDC.
    Thanks for replies.

    Hi;
For the configuration i think its CDC, as the ipaqs have a big memory as using CLDC, but for the JVM, i don't know,
if you find the answer plz send it to me at [email protected]
    good luck.

  • Java Application in Window Pocket PC

    Hi,
i'm using iPAQ h3970. Can i know what type of emulator i need to use and what are the step i need to follow.
Beside, I intend to develop a speech recognition application in Pocket PC. Can i know what type of tools i need??
    Thanks.
    George.

    Hi geomut,
within your Compaq-CD you find the Jeode Virtual Machine. That is the Runtime Environment you need to run a Java Application on your iPAQ.
Download the PersonalJava Emulation Environment from the Sun site and compile the classes on your Desktop PC.
Then follow the instructions you find in the Jeode's readme file to set a link and copy the classes (or jar file, for exmaple) to your PDA.
About the speech recognition application, sorry, I have no Idea about.
    Have a nice day,
    regiostudent.

  • Can i run the MIDlet on IPAQ PDA / Windows CE??

    Hi,
Is it anyone know can MIDlet application run on the IPAQ PDA which run the Microsoft CE OS?? As i know the MIDlet is run well on the Palm OS. Is it i need another third party to do so?
    Please advise ...
    Thank in advance ..

    Hi,
I don't know if there is a Sun's KVM implementation for iPAQ, but I know that the IBM's j9 VM can run MIDlets.
To do so, you'll need IBM's Websphere Studio Device Developer, and follow the installation instructions to the device..that's the only way I could port my MIDlets to iPAQ.

  • KVM for Windows Pocket PC

I have some questions concerning the abilities of KVM dedicated for Microsoft Pocket PC.
Have found several solutions but i cannot find anything about the support for JSR packeges,
    for example:
    - JSR-082 for Bluetooth,
    - File Connection API,
    - Socket connection support,
    - JSR-179 for Location services
    - JSR-120 for wireless messaging
Not mentioning the memory restrictions, http max connectiol load, and so on
Doeas anybody have solved some issues:
here are some links that i have already founded:

  • PocketPCTemplate and Components vs. "ordinary" Flash

    Hi,
I'm quite a newbie to Flash and trying to start with an
application development for a Pocket PC (HP IPAQ 4700, Windows
Pocket PC 2003). First attempt was to use the Pocket PC template
and the Pocket PC Components of the CDK, but then I was missing
some components there (e.g. Button). I then figured out that I
can't use Components from the Standard Flash User Interface Library
within the Pocket PC Template for Windows Mobile (Browser) -
especcially not the Button which doesn't work in that Template
(displays as white rectangle without any behaviour when starting
    the swf).
Creating a new "ordinary" Flash File and simply adjusting
size seems to work fine with the Standard Components (at least with
the Button), also on the Pocket PC it displays fine. So is there
still the need to use the special PPC template and the PPC
Components of the Flash Pocket PC development kit? Are nowadays
PocketPCs perhaps strong enough to display ordinary Flash as well?
Is it advisable to mix components? And which special things (unless
the size reduction) does this PPC template bring with it?
Anyway, is there a special reason why there are only five
components for Pocket PC in that CDK; missing such important things
    as Buttons and TextFields?
I am using Macromedia Flash Professional 8 and FP6_PPC_CDK.
On the Ipaq, I use Flash Player 7 for Pocket PC.
Thanks a lot in advance for any comment or hint about howto
develop applications for the Pocket PC.

My impression is it is inadvisable to use the desktop
    components.
The best answer, though, is for you to test on real target
    machines and make
    your own judgment call.
The few times I have needed a component-like object, I've
    built my own
custom, less sophisticated, less feature-rich but much more
    responsive
objects. They may be nowhere near as good as the components,
    at least on
paper, but the user experience is better. I'd recommend you
    do the same
wherever you can for mobile development.

  • WRT54G V.5 Setup Problem

My WRT54G V.5 with SpeedBooster can't seem to set up properly. I am currently using a BEFSR41 V.4 to split my internet connection between my PC running Windows XP, and my Mac running OS X Panther (10.3.9). The BEFSR41 works just fine between the PC and the Mac, but the WRT54G can't get through setup. Okay, here's what I do -- I insert the Setup CD on my PC, I follow all the instructions, and then when it comes to the part where it shows the percent bar and a timer, it goes all the way through that, then... it freezes up. I honestly don't know what's wrong with this, but I was thinking that I should only connect my PC into port 1 and then after the setup is done, connect my Mac to port 2. By the way, I am planning on using the wireless to do gaming on my Xbox and my Nintendo DS if that makes any difference. Any help to this problem would be greatly appriciated because I really want to start using this item. Thank you very much for any help!

  • Problems in using Msync with  IPAQ 3760 and Active SYnc 3.5

    Hi,
    Environment :-
    IPAQ 3760
    Windows NT workstation
    Active Sync 3.5
I am using Active Sync 3.5 which does not need RAS
    configuration on the machine.
I am unable to run msync.exe. It does not give any errors
    messages.
The 9i lite documentation talks about RAS settings.
If anyone has faced similar prob coudl you please let me know
    the solution.
    regards,
    Sonal

You do not need to make a RAS connection with Pocket PC 2002,
because now ActiveSync itself makes an IP connection, and
Oracle9i Lite just needs an IP connection for synchronization no
matter how you establish it. Hi, I also experience the same problem. Using PocketPC 2002 I have a pasthru connection. Ik kan browse on the Internet with Internet Explorer, so the connections works.
mSync just seems to do nothing. When I press the Sync button, nothing happens (not even a progress bar).
    Any idea?
    Thanks,
    Bas.

  • Nokia 8800 & HP Ipaq PDA

  • PDA Bluetooth Windows Mobile 5

I have just finished developing a PDA application using LV PDA 8.20 for my HP iPAQ running Windows Mobile 2003. The application uses Bluetooth to communicate with a device and all runs well.
I have just ordered a new HP iPAQ running Windows Mobile 2005 and loaded my software onto it along with the 3 Bluetooth dlls required:
    BtCoreIf.dll
    BtSdkCE30.dll
    LVBtw.dll
When I run the software and try to discover devices, I get the following error: Bt Discovery Error code: 2. I have Bluetooth turned on.
Has anybody else experienced anything similar?
    Thanks
    ssk

Well, I thought I had cracked this..............!
My software now starts ok and discovers Bluetooth devices. Soon after discovering a device and the operator selecting the desired one, the software hangs.
This works fine on Mobile 2003 but not on Mobile 5.
I have recompiled the software and chosen the target device to be Mobile 5.
I have read bits and pieces about extra software being installed for Mobile 5. I have installed EVC 4.
    PDA version is 8.20
I cannot see anyway of changing the processor type in the build definition, it defaults to ARM. My iPAQ hx2100 has a PXA270 (is this ARM compatible as far as LV is concerned?).
    Any help gratefully received!

  • WebDynpro on Windows Mobile 5.0 doesn't work

    Hi,
SORRY: I JUST REALISED I POSTED THIS TO THE RFID FORUM : PLEASE IGNORE.
We tried running a Web Dynpro application on an i-mate JASJAR Pocket PC running Windows Mobile 5.0 (OS 5.1.1700 (Build 14354.0.1.1), however when any action is initiated (eg press Search button), we always get the error "Application Error occured furing request processing" - parameter ''partName'' is empty.
    Anyone know what this is?
These apps work find on Windows Pocket PC 2003 and in a normal PC browser. They are quite simple apps that call an R/3 BAPI - based on the usual SAP tutorials.
    Thanks

The problem is that on PocketPC you cannot redirect input or output and the exec() call will not work as expected so it instead throws the exception to indicate this doesn't work on PocketPC.

  • How can I make AWT go faster on iPAQ?

    Hi,
I have an application on iPAQ 3950, and the graphics (AWT) is very slow.
I have removed the lines as much as possible (which helped a lot), made text fields hide under labels (which helped too), replaced buttons with labels (no change that I noticed), but still I can see the remaining lines draw from one side to the other, and the components arrange inside their layout.
Does anybody have any ideas about how to make it go faster?
I didn't notice any change from iPAQ 3850 (200 MHz) to iPAQ 3950 (400 MHz), maybe it has to do with screen processor (if any?)
    Thanks,
    Moti

    Hi,
I suggest you to use swt port for pocketpc. It has more widgets than awt and runs at native speed. It will run faster than ANY awt implementation because it uses native widgets. Also you need JVM with good JNI support (J9 known to work well, though it has fixable bugs in http connection handler: it does't work right with chuncked encoding)
SWT has bad (inefficient)FormLayout implementation (that dog slow with bunch of widgets). I've rewritten FormLayout that is about 10+ times faster and uses less memory.
