IPC. configurable product

How we can customize that
Then we select configuration on quotation in CRM -
characteristics is automatically confirm after enter its.

Hi Denis
Products that you use in configuration must be configurable. You can maintain configurable products that you use in the product configuration with IPC in either SAP ERP Core Component (SAP ECC) or in the Product Modeling Environment (PME) in mySAP CRM.

• IPC Configurable products and Search by characteristic

Hi all,
I have set up Configurable products for opportunities and quotations.
Now I have one question, if I want to search opportunities by product, it is possible in the standard search of opportunities/quotations. But if I want to search by a characteristic value of that product, how do I proceed? Is there a solution?
Thanks!

You have to read up on "Navigation Attributes." Marking the attributes of a chracterstic "navigable" in the InfoProvider makes that attribute searchable.

• How to avoid configuration product downloading from R/3 into CRM

Hello,
We have CRM 4.0 connected with R/3 backEnd and configurable products are downloading from R/3 into CRM with the whole characteristics.
We don´t use this characteristics in CRM to configure this product and the pricing. Is there any way to avoid this information into CRM??
1.- Though the Middleware???
2.- Though the Uninstalling IPC(internet pricing configurator)???
3.- though the item category of the Business Transaction.???
It´d be grateful to get a way because actually, when we enter the product, this one has to be configurated because of the errors.
Thanks a lot,
Luis Angel Fernández

Hello Luis,
First of all I am unable to understand how are you getting the characteristic through material download.
All configuration comes through Knowledge Base and its runtime version.
If you want to block configurable materials from flowing to CRM then set the filter on Item Category Group.
I think you must have different item Category group for configurable material.
Thanks & Regards

I did the folowing steps
Knowledge bases and runtime versions are created
1) Event Handler is maintained in Table TBE31
2) IPC is maintained as consumer in table CRMCONSUM
3) Table CRMRFCPAR is not maintained as we are on ECC 6.0 (Do I need to maintain this)
4) The JCO user is maintained with the authorization objects S_RFC and S_MI_ADMCO
5) Initialized the DB using report CFG_AP_INITIALISE_DB
6) Request for the Knowledge base and version -- using report CFG_AP_REQUEST_DB
log shows every thing green ... but dont think the Knowledge base is uploaded.
7) ipc/admin/xcm/init.do ...XCM is configured for application type "erp" and the component "jco"
Is there any thing I am missing ... any suggestion why I am getting this error.
Thank you
Ram

Hi Chris,
I have moved to test environment and started working on a clean slate.
I understand what you are trying to tell regarding maintaining the XCM scenario in variant config (SPRO).
I have complete the following steps.
1) Activated VMC
2) IPC is set active in Shop Management.
3) Table TBE31 is maintained for the Event
4) table CRMCONSUM is maintained for IPC
5) Table CRMRFCPAR is maintained with two entries. Though RFC destination is not maintained.
RFC destinations in AP system are not maintained as we are running SAP E-Commerce 5.0 using ECC 6.0 as backend.
6) ran the report CFG_AP_INITIALISE_DB -- every thing is green and can see the knowledge bases in the log.
7) I have maintained the parameter "ipcjcodata" with the JCO component - and maintained the JCO connection user with authorization objects S_MI_ADMCO and S_RFC (with necessary functional groups).
Now If I login to b2b/init.do -- I can see the configuration icon next to the configurable product.
Once I click on the icon -
I can see the reset, accept, cancel options and status and product variant tabs.
But the charecteristics tabs and charecteristics are not being displayed. -- which shows blank.
the jsp's which are showing blank are
1) /ipc/components/characteristicGroup.jsp
2) /ipc/tiles/characteristicGroup.jsp/ipc/tiles/characteristics.jsp
Is there any thing I am missing - Please suggest.
Thank you

Thanks and Regards,

Tony,
It looks more like an issue with the loading of the JCO properties before the logon. Can you go to XCM and try reentering the password and save the config. Once done do a test connection and restart the application.
Then set a breakpoint in the BackendBusinessObjectBaseSAP class in the method getDefaultJCoConnection().
Here when the current connection is invalid it tries to read the config properties from XCM. Just check if it is reading the correct values from the config ISA_COMPLETE which is read on the backend object.
In case of mismatch, you need to fix that or you could try to build a new JCO connection with your own parameters.

• Configurable product in CRM 7.0

Hi all,
has anybody experience with configurable products and product model in CRM 7.0? or is there a detailed manual somewhere?
the way to manage them seems quite different from the previous release in which the PME component was external.
Thanks
Oreste

Hi,
ECC -> CRM Download of Configurable Products
First of all create the KB and Runtime version for ur configurable products(Variant configuration products ) in ECC. Then activate the IPC, download the KR and Runtime Version (SCE).
Create your own Application Customer confiruation in XCM component and the link look http://<host>:<port>/<web app name>/admin/xcm/init.do.
Then go to the table COMM_IPC_PROP and maintaint the table entry with the Application Customer Configuration in XCM for Product and also for sales order if you are using the Sales order for the configurable products...
and also u need to maintain the IPC server setting in the table COMM_IPC_URL
Using the below report RSVMCRT_HEALTH_CHECK you can check whether the IPC and java stack is active. One more thing to keep in mind is if you ever do changes to XCM component then you need to restart the Java Server everytime.
CRM (Standalone)
From CRM 2007 onward the PME has been replaced with WEBUI. in the WEBUI you create the Configurable products and then create the product model.

• Configurable products in CRM - Error ASSERTION_FAILED

Hello Experts,
I'm trying to use configurable products in CRM. To do this we have decided to replicate the configurable products from ERP to CRM.
We were able to replicate the products into CRM, but when we try to use these in sales quotations we get the following error:
Category ABAP Programming Error
Runtime Errors ASSERTION_FAILED
ABAP Program SAPLCRM_ORDER_API
Application Component CRM-BTX-BF
Date and Time 28.09.2011 11:17:11
The first time we tried to create a quotation, configuration of item category determination was missing, so we added the following configuration:
Tran.Type/ Description TransTyp/ Item cat.Group/ MainItemCty/Decription item cat./ Item Cat./ Description Item cty
ZAG Quotation 0002 Config.at Mat.Level AGC Quotation Config.
ZAG Quotation 0002 Config.at Mat.Level AGC Quotation Config. AGE Quotation Config.
ZAG Quotation 0002 Config.at Mat.Level AGM Normal Item Quot. AGC Quotation Config.
Since we added the configuration of item category determination for Configurable material, we get the error described above.
Could you give us any advice to resolve this problem?
Thanks in advanced.
Susana Morgado

Update: I just found out, to set the proper IPC settings we have to use http://<host>:50000/ipc/admin/xcm/init.do. This one has a JCO-component inside. But unfortunitely it shows a runtime error when it is started. I did change the SSL/security settings to use http. Any idea what this could be, or where to find a detailed error-log?

Hi friends,
I have a configurable product in CRM, when i try to create a quotation in CRM with that, im getting error as "Configuration missing".
I am not sure why this is coming. I checked the same product in ECC, and when i try to create a quote in Ecc with the same product, im getting no errors.
And more over, in the items, im getting items, like 100, 101, 102, 103.
I want to solve this error in CRM, and create a qoute successfully.
Could anyone give me some guidelines or steps to solve this issue.
I am just an ABAPER, and i dont have any fucntional person at place.
I really appreciate your help on this regard.
Thanks in Advance,
Niraja.

siddharth,

• Configurable product in internet sales

hello friends......
can anybody tell me is there any setting required for configurable product in internet sales

Hi This is the case when we have CRM-R3:
And here is the procedure:
1.1.1.1 Creating Knowledge-Base Objects in R/3
Use
A knowledge-base object is a Container for distributing configuration-relevant master data from the R/3 System to the IPC sales configurator knowledge base.
A knowledge-base object determines which objects are downloaded for produce configuration with IPC. Different runtime versions support versioning of the R/3 database for the knowledge base.
A knowledge base object in the R/3 System contains:
• Basic data, such as name, description, and status
• Language-dependent descriptions
• One or more knowledge-base profiles
Procedure
1. To carry out the activity, choose one of the following navigation options:
SAP R/3 Role Menu Creating Knowledge Base Objects
Transaction code CU31
SAP Menu Logistics  Central Functions  Variant Configuration  Knowledge Base  Knowledge Base Object  Create
2. Enter a name in the Knowledge-base object field, for example KB_BEST_PRACTICES.
3. Choose Enter.
4. On the Create Knowledge Base Object screen, enter a description and a status.
You can only replicate a runtime version that has status Released.
3. Choose Profiles.
4. Choose Create and enter for example KB_PROFILE_BP as KB profile and KB Profile Best Practices as description.
5. Choose Enter.
6. Enter the material or class from which you want to start configuration as the OO class, and enter the variant class type.
7. If you do not enter a user interface, the SCE appears with its standard interface and groups characteristics according to the interface design settings defined in R/3.
The User interface field is a reference point for interfacing to customer-specific programs. You can refer to this field in your program to link a customer-specific user interface to a knowledge base.
8. Choose Save.
Result
The knowledge base object is now defined. Before you can download the knowledge base, you must create a runtime version.
1.1.1.2 Creating Runtime Versions in R/3
Use
The runtime version is a replicable copy of all the configuration-relevant master data of a knowledge-base object that is valid on a specified date. The runtime version thus fulfills a versioning function.
It ensures that each object is downloaded only once, even if:
• It occurs in different places in the configuration model
• You have defined more than one knowledge-base profile
Procedure
1. To carry out the activity, choose one of the following navigation options:
SAP R/3 Role Menu Creating Runtime Versions
Transaction code CU34
SAP Menu Logistics  Central Functions  Variant Configuration  Knowledge Base  Runtime Versions  Create
2. In the knowledge-base object field enter the name of your knowledge-base object
3. In the Version field enter the name for your runtime version and confirm.
4. On the Create Runtime Version: Basic Data screen, enter the following data:
Fieldname value description
Valid from <date> default is today's date
Status 1 Released
Plant <numeric key for your plant>
BOM application <key for the application for selecting your BOM>
Language key <blank> We advise you to leave the Language key blank.
Incl. Actions (converted to procedures) If you use actions for either configuration profiles or BOM items in the SCE, select Incl. actions (converted to procedures).
You can only download a runtime version that has status Released.
If you leave the Language key field blank, descriptions are downloaded in all languages. Missing descriptions can cause errors!
Only actions for configuration profiles and BOM items are converted to procedures Actions for characteristics and characteristic values are ignored!
5. Choose Save.
6. Generate the runtime version.
Result
The program collects and compiles all the relevant objects, checks the class network for consistency, and saves the runtime version. The runtime version is now ready to download
For detailed information about the generation of a runtime version, display the R/3 application log. To do this, start transaction SLG1, then enter log object PPVA and sub-object KBMT.

• Configure products in Lead document SAP CRM7.0 EhP1

Hello,
We are implementing configurable products in CRM, in order to use them
in Sales Documents, and everything works fine.
Now we need to use these configurable products in Lead documents, but
nothing appears in order to configure products. Is something missing to
make this available?
Best Regards,
Susana Morgado

Hi Susana
I did some more study on lead transaction and following is my conclusion.
Technical: The configuration explosion is performed using IPC in transaction processing. The leading business transaction category for Lead Transaction is BUS2000108 and BUS200129 for Lead Item. These categories ristricts the transaction structure from triggring event for calling IPC as an lead can be created without products, with zero quantity products and also with just product categories. Since IPC is not called the product configuration cannot be exploded in Lead transaction unless an enhancement is performed at the object level itself. Which would be very complex. The same is applicable for activity transaction.
Business Logic: From a business process persective the main objective of Lead transaction is to capture the customer's interest and put a qualification around the same. If the customer interest is identified as high and the qualification helps the organization in making the decision of taking the lead forward into sales cycle and start investing organization's resources on the prospect, then the lead is converted into Opportunity. At the lead level it is still not clear which products or services will suite the customer requirements best. It is at the opportunity level where the detailed discussion are performed and captured to identify the precise needs of the customer and preparing the solution to fulfill customer needs. Hence opportunity is the transaction where the product configuration is performed and solution is created for the customer.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Avi

• CRM 5.0 and IPC Configuration

Hi All,

Vikas and Nirmal,
As IPC is already there with CRM 5.0, you just need to start it...
See OSS note 854170 for details about starting and some configuration information on IPC...

• Purchase Price of Configured Product (KMAT)

We have a commodity which we will buying as a configured product. The commodity will contain several subassemblies which the supplier will put together and ship to us as a complete unit. I understand how to set up the materials in Variant Configuration, but my concern is for the purchase price of the item.
The help files indicate that we can set up the configurable material (top level) as a KMAT and define the content in the Variant Configurator. Since the entire assembly will be purchased at this level, as a composite of the subassemblies, how does the system price the purchase? The help file indicates that the Accounting view would use moving average with a stated price to start, which makes sense since the actual purchase price will vary from combination to combination. Is there a provision in the configurator to handle the purchase price of the subassemblies and that would then roll up the purchase price?

The Mac App Store prices do not include sales taxes. Sales taxes in the USA are different in every jurisdiction in the USA based on what the state and municipality tag on.
For example the sales tax in New York City is 8.875%, whereas in SanFrancisco it is 9.5%. That amount is added on to the retail price listed. The iTunes/Mac App Store sends you an emailed receipt that shows the total amount of your purchase.

• Values for Characteristics entered on Orders with Configurable Products

Hello all,
I have a system that has Configurable Products to be used in Sales Orders. I have a requirement to provide the values stored against some characteriestics for an online report. Can anyone point me in the direction of tables that hold the values entered for characteristics at the order level?
Many thanks,

Hello,
thanks for your answer.
But I cannot restrict the values for each characteristic, I need to restrict it per material for each characteristic? So where can I do that?

Hi Fariz,
In sapgui, you can use transaction commpr01 to create products. Once you click on create button, you will be asked to enter product category. Next to that will be a check box named 'Configurable', which you can check to make the product configurable.
For more info on Product creation, you may also refer to the foll link:
