IPC Configuration
Hi,
We are working with SRM 5.5 (EBP and SUS) and we are making the basic settings in which we can find the IPC, but the guides don´t specify nothing about that, it only say that we need configure the IPC but i don´t know how.
I'm looking for information in the marketplace but the information refers when the IPC was an extra component but in SRM 5.5 is integrated, am i right?
Do we need configure anything (Pricing procedures, rfc, conexions, logical systems.....)?
In the Path: SPRO --> Supplier Relationship Management --> SRM Server --> Cross aplication settings --> Pricing
We can specify the princing structure and more, then we are going to take that information from our backend (ECC 6.0) and configure that tables, but we don´t know if we need configure something else.
Thanks.
HI Imthiaz,
Thanks for your aswer.
What happend with the information in the Pricing opcion in the transaction SPRO path (Supplier Relationship Management--> SRM Server --> Cross Aplication Basic Settings --> Pricing), do we need to configure this part (calculation schemas, condition types, condition groups)?????????
Our backend is ECC 6.0, there we have configured this conditions, then we don´t know if we need to copy that conditions in SRM too or how is going to work SRM?????????
Thanks.

CRM 5.0 and IPC Configuration
Hi All,
we are using CRM 5.0 and want to configure IPC for Internet sales. Can someone give me the IPC configuration guide for CRM 5.0 (as IPC is integrated in it). We are using CRM as standalone without R/3.
Thanks & Regards,
Vikas
[email protected]Vikas and Nirmal,
As IPC is already there with CRM 5.0, you just need to start it...
See OSS note 854170 for details about starting and some configuration information on IPC...
Thanks,

Hi All,
Can anyone please send me the Step by Step Configuration guide for IPC in CRM 5.0.
My mail [email protected]
Thanks in advance.
DeepakHi Deepak,
It is not recommended to share docs via email. As this will be difficult for others who read the same thread for reference.
Let me try to help.
For IPC 4.0 we have full doc in service.sap.com/crm-inst
but for CRM 5.0 IPC seems do not have such kind of document, this might because totally different structure in CRM 5.0
Maybe you can check a document attached to note 809820, which talks about how to implement the user exit in CRM 5.0 for IPC, maybe this will provide an idea about the necessary configuration needed.
Not so sure whether this could help or not.

Hongyan -

Products that you use in configuration must be configurable. You can maintain configurable products that you use in the product configuration with IPC in either SAP ERP Core Component (SAP ECC) or in the Product Modeling Environment (PME) in mySAP CRM.

IPC Configurable products and Search by characteristic
Hi all,
I have set up Configurable products for opportunities and quotations.
Now I have one question, if I want to search opportunities by product, it is possible in the standard search of opportunities/quotations. But if I want to search by a characteristic value of that product, how do I proceed? Is there a solution?
Thanks!
Edited by: Pedro Taveira on Oct 26, 2011 2:49 PMYou have to read up on "Navigation Attributes." Marking the attributes of a chracterstic "navigable" in the InfoProvider makes that attribute searchable.

CRM 7.0: set up IPC product configuration
Dear experts,
we set up a CRM 7.0 with ERP 6.0 backend integration. In the ERP we apply ERP variant configuration (Materials). Quite simple: some configurable materials (material type KMAT) with a few characteristics and product variants of them (material type FERT) which are maintained in order processing. Variant conditions are maintained and automatically determined for product items. Now we need this in CRM for opportunity processing.
Therefore we have created Knowledge Base and Runtime Version for the configurable products in ERP and downloaded test materials (one KMAT and one FERT (product variant) into CRM (download objects MATERIAL and SCE). In CRM product master data maintenance for the KMATconfigurable tab with the configuration profile is displayed. Afterwards we downloaded condition master data into CRM, among others variant condition VA00 with condition table A057. Everything looks fine.
In CRM we want to set up opportunity management. In the opprotunity transaction processing pricing is working already besides the determination of variant pricing. As we intend to maintain only FERT materials (product variants)we do not need interactive product configuration in CRM sales order or product simulation in CRM product master data. We only want the variant prices to be determined automatically for the product variants (FERT) in opportunity processing. That is why we are not sure if it necessary to set IPC configuration settings (XCM etc.). This is my first question. Nevertheless we started to maintain settings for product configuration in order to find out if this is solves our problem:
1.) XCM configuration (IPC): we set up a customer application for "crmproductsimulation" and defined customer components jco (RFC test worked) and productvariants and restarted J2EE Instance in TX: SMICM
2.) We set up product configuration customizing:
table: COMM_IPC_PROP: caller; crmproductsimulation; scenario.xcm; ZCRMproductssimulation
table: COMM_IPC_URL: UI_CFG; http://<host>:<port>100/ipc/ipc/command.do
When starting simulation of product model for configurable product in TX: COMMPR01 I get following error message: "HTTP500: ISA Framework: The [XCM application configuration]='ZCRMproductssimulation' does not exist. Check XCM configuration.
Details: No details available". This application is maintained in XCM so I assume something else is missing.
To sum up my questions:
1.) Is it necessary to set up IPC product configuration as described above when we only want to maintain FERT products which are product variants and determine corresponding variant prices (VA00). No interactive product configuration is necessary.
2.) If it is necessary to set up IPC product configuration to active product configuration (to see product variants in product master data maintenance and opportunity processing and corresponding variant condition data), what did I do wrong?
Thank you very much for your help.
KInd regards,
MarkHi Arup,
thank you very much for your reply.
Concerning XCM / CRM customizing I have done the steps you recommended:
1. XCM: I created customer applications for crmordermaintain and crmproductsimulation and maintained customer component JCO for both of them (Assigned JCO User has SAPALL / SAPNEW, test run was successful) Active and default are ticked. Are there any further steps missing.May be in General Application Settings > Customer > ipcwebappconfig - I changed nothing there (SSLenabled: true)
2. In CRM customizing I maintained tables as follows:
COMM_IPC_PROP:
caller crmordermaintain scenario.xcm Zcrmordermaintain (name of customer xcm app -case sensitive)
caller crmproductsimulation scenario.xcm Zcrmproductsimulation (name of customer xcm app -case sensitive)
COMM_IPC_URL:
Destination: UI_CFG ;Appl. <blank>; URL: http://<host>:<J2EEport/ipc/ipc/command.do
Calling the IPC product configuration e.g. from the CRM product master (simulate model), I get the already mentioned HTTP error:"ISA Framework: The [XCM application configuration]='Zcrmproductsimulation' does not exist. Check XCM configuration.".
That's why I am thinking that something is missing concerning the communication between CRM application and IPC,because XCM applications do definitely exist.
Is the URL correct .../ipc/ipc/commando.do which I maintained in table COMM_IPC_URL?
Is it possible to check if communication between CRM Online and Java does work respectively what do you exactly mean by "IPC URL must be available for UI_CFG"? UI_CFG ist a RFC-connection which has to be maintained additionaly and if so what has to be maintained exactly?
You mentioned a RFC_USER (This is the JCO-User I suppose?)and J2ee user. Is the J2ee user just the admin user of the J2EE engine or do you mean something different?
Thanks in advance for your further help.
Best regards,
Mark

Just one further thing: After changing XCM config I restarted J2EE by TX SMICM (Administration - J2EE Instance local - Send soft shutdown - with restart). Is this enough to restart J2EE and activate changed XCM settings or has the restart to be handled different? -
Is it IPC mandatory for CRM Sales Order standalone (no webchannel)
Hi Consultants,
Do we still require IPC for SAP CRM sales order (standalone) though we don't have in scope Web-channel and ECC integration ..?Hello David,
Yes, you will still need IPC to execute pricing on your sales order. This is true for any sales scenario in CRM.
The only scenario where you won't need IPC is working with ECC order in CRM via the LORD interface. However since you are running standalone this is not applicable probably.
What you may not need is the IPC configuration UI (which is a Java web app), in case you are not working with configurable products.
However, for pricing your orders you need the pricing engine = IPC.

Using CRMXIF_ORDER_SAVE to update configurations
Dear All,
We are using the function module CRMXIF_ORDER_SAVE from the XIF interface of CRM in order to update configurations in several Order Contracts in CRM. After run we see the configuration correctly in the IPC configuration screen when displaying the contract (Transaction CRMD_ORDER). However, when using the function module crm_config_read_ow to reread the configuration, it is missing most of the characteristics. This is corrected as soon as we open and just save the configuration from the crmd_order. This leads to the conclusion that the FM CRMXIF_ORDER_SAVE produces some instability in the database (CBASE, IPC etc?). Also, it was observed, but not always that some characteristics might disappear (lost) when we use FM CRMXIF_ORDER_SAVE even though we explicitly set values during the FM call. Does anybody had a similar situation or have try to update configuration using this FM? Please HelpHi Socrates,
Can you please tell how you solved this ? Can you please post me a sample code showing the fields which need to be populated for updating the order?
Thank you

IPC is required for extended classic scenario. Reach out to your basis practitioner, he should be able to perform this.

Thank you.Hi,
QOS implementation has radically changed since the advent of
sup-7 & later
You no longer set mls qos as qos is on the engine by default.
Please see the following links
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-4500-series-switches/white_paper_c11-539588.html
"Ingress QoS: Default Actions
First and foremost, QoS does not need to be enabled on the Supervisor Engine, it is on by default in compliance with the MQC construct.
When a packet arrives at an interface, there are two options to take into consideration: is there a policy attached or not? If the packet arrives with or without a marking and there is not a policy attached to the interface, packets will flow through the switch untouched. There are no questions as to where the packet came from or if it has a valid marking. If the packet arrives with or without a marking, and a policy is attached to the interface, the packet will only then be subject to the policy classification."
And the config guide

SAP R/3 4.7 EE on Solaris 10
Hi All,
I need your valuable suggestion/solution with respect to the query i have. To be informed, as a requirement in SAP Upgrade project following are some queries we have -->
1. We need to install SAP R/3 4.7 ext 2.00 EE on Solaris 10 with oracle 9i, we are currently on SAP R/3 4.7 ext 2.00 EE on Solaris 9 with oracle 9i. Is there is any difference in behavior of SAP due to OS versions ??
2. After performing Step 1, we need to restore the backup of existing data to new version of OS, will it give any problem while performing restoration ??
Please suggest appropriate solution ASAP.
Many Thanks,
Kshitiz Goyal,
BASIS AdministratorIf you are installing a new system then I would go for Oracle 10 instead of 9.2 - the official support for 9.2 will end tomorrow (end of July)!
Solaris 10 doesn´t use /etc/system for IPC configurations any more, you have to create a project and assign the users - see note 724713 - parameter settings for Solaris 10
Apart from that everything should be the same.

Organization structure in extended classic scenario
Hi All
I am trying to configure extended classic scenario on SAP SRM 7.0. I have made the following settings for the same:
1. In SPRO->SRM Server-> Technical Basic Settings -> Define backend system from product category, I have specified target system as SRM system and not ECD system
2. In SPRO->SRM Server->Cross Application Basic Settings-> Activate Extended Classic Scenario, I have selected all the options including "Back end purchasing group responsible"
I have a few doubts.
1. In organization Structure (PPOMA_BBP) Comapny code is corresponding to company code in back end but do I have to create local purchasing organization and local purchasing group i.e. in Functions-> Corresponds I'll have to leave blank. plz suggest
2. Also is IPC configuration mandatory for extended classic scenario
Plz give your suggestion on above mentioned issue
Regards
Pawan Keshwani
Edited by: pawankeshwani on Mar 18, 2011 8:33 AMHi Pawan,
No you should mention Purch Org & Purch Grp also wrt your backend (ECC).
IPC need not be configured separately from SRM 5.0 onwards. To ascertain if IPC is working fine just run the report : RSVMCRT_HEALTH_CHECK. You should see 4 success messages. Else get in touch with Basis to enable Virtual Machine Container (VMC)
