IPC-D-356A Export

Hi
I am exporting my netlist from Ultiboard 10.1 PowerPro, in the IPC-D-356A format, for use in a Polar Instruments GRS500 flying probe tester. In Ultiboard, there is no export setting dialog. From the generated file, I see that the generated coordinates are in millimeters/degrees. However, the tester requires a file with coordinates in inches. Question: Is there a way to export an IPC356 file from Ultiboard with inches? If not, does anybody know of a conversion program/script to convert an existing IPC356 file from metric to imperial units?. Thanky

as you have recognized there are unfortunately no export settings for the IPC-D-356A format.
For a script you should take a look at the format

Send all line items of a sales order to IPC along with condition lines data

We wrote some pricing routines in R/3, where while doing he calculations for condition line item, we needed to pull in the material information for previous line items. So we exported vbap and imported it inside the routine to be able to have access to all the line items in the sales order. Now, we need to put in the same kind of logic in CRM/IPC. My question is what would be the equivalent of SAP's(import/export) commands for internal tables in case of IPC. I looked at the BADI CRM_COND_COM_BADI but still do not see how I can send all the line items data to IPC. So I guess, the question comes down to, how do I send all the line items of the sales order (whole VBAP in R/3 terms) to IPC along with the condition line data? Can someone please help?

Hi Vaibhav,
If you can get the list of Sales orders which has deleted line items and force completion status. You can manage them in BI via lookup or navigation attribute.

How can I define the parameters in IPC formula?

Hi IPC experts,I'm fresh on IPC.
Now,I have a requirement,and need to alter an IPC formula.
I need to post a parameter to IPC,and I have below two proposals,but both of them are denied.
1.add a field catalog,and the system will add a new field in structure CRMT_ACS_I_COM.To finish the MTP,we need to process/remove all the pending BDOCs in middleware.We have global business,and there are always some BDOCs being processed,so it's almost impossible to clear it,so the risk is too high.
2.Export the data to database in ABAP and then access them by calling a function in the JAVA codings in the formula.
   To achieve this goal,we'll have to use JCO to access ABAP function module,but it seems forbidden according to SAP.
Now,I have a proposal,whethe we can add a new parameter in the formula class??

Hi jerry,
I think you need to pass some custom paramater to ipc which is required in pricing.
Then you can add a new parameter in the field catalog attribute and to pass the value to the IPC you have to implement the badi CRM_COM_COND_BADI.

Help needed for IPC configuration error

hi all,
I have installed IPC according to installation guide, RFC's are working perfectly. IPC_COM_SESSION_BEGIN gives a value. Still i get the following error while checking the ipc monitor n runnin the test.

Exported Interdemia Text Inedxed data from 8.1.7 to 8.1.6

Hi all
I get something interesting problem....I setup Intermedia Text on my DB1 running Oracle 8.1.6, index setup well and query works well. For some reason, I exported some Intermedia Text indexed data from aonther DB2 (8.1.7) and import to the one running 8.1.6. Then I try to index some column in several tables on DB1 , it tell me "DRG-50704: Net8 listener is not running or cannot start external procedures..... " but I am pretty sure all my network configurations are ok...since my intermedia text works well before data importing...To confirm that....I setup lsnrctl status which show me "PLSExtProc has 1 service handler(s)" which is good..I also tnsping extproc_connection_data.xxx , it shows me 'Attempting to contact (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=ipc)(KEY=extproc)) OK (10 msec) " which is nice...I even type "sqlplus username/passwd@extproc_connection_data.xxx " , I get the"ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel ". so I am pretty sure my Net8 or other stuff is right. But I still fail in creating index...and the error message seems similiar to "DRG-50704: Net8 listener is not running or cannot start external procedures..... "
Any one get the same problem as mine?
And idea for that?

When you have to export from a DB version and import into a lower DB version, then the export has to be done using the lowest export utility. In your case you have to export using the 8.1.6 export utility.
If you have access to Metalink have a look at Note:132904.1.

Pricing condition formula on IPC

Here's the issue -
The freight for items is calculated using scale based rates for gross weight of the items.
For example, if the gross wt. for an item is 38 pounds, the rate is determined as $18 from the scale. However, if the quantity is increased to 2, a rate of say, $30 is taken from the scale corresponding to the gross wt. which is now 76 pounds.
However, the requirement is that the rate of $18 should be chosen and multiplied by the quantity for all quantities greater than 1. So the freight should have been $36 (18 x 2) instead.
The freight is calculated using a pricing formula in R/3 where the gross wt. is first divided by the quantity to get the base condition. Scale based rates are taken to calculate the freight condition value and multiplied by the quantity again.

The problem arises while implementing this formula in IPC. Unlike on the R/3 side, it is not possible to change the gross wt. of an item in IPC. Also, I couldn't find a way to explicitly specify the gross wt. to calculate the condition.
The other option was to implement a BADI to change the gross wt. of the items before calculating the conditions. I tried using the CRM_PRODUCT_I_BADI where it is possible to change the gross wt. when an item is entered, however, the quantity for the line item is not available in this BADI so as to divide it to get the appropriate gross wt. for an item.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If this badi is executed inside order creation you can try call function CRM_ORDER_READ to get the item quantity.
It might work if the item data is updated before this badi is called.
Instead of pass the header like in the example below, pass the item guid to the function.

Export of database not working

Hi,
I have Oracle 8.1.7 server/client on same machine (standalone)...i have created 2 database...db1(dbname - xxx) & db2 (dbname-yyy)
I wanted to take a database dump using "exp.exe"...
for my db1 i was able to take with the following commands..
d:\oracle\ora81\bin\exp.exe sys/change_on_instal@xxx file=d:\db1.dmp buffer=1000000 Full=y log=db1_exp.log compress=y
But when i tried for db2 with the dabname changed...
d:\oracle\ora81\bin\exp.exe sys/change_on_instal@yyy file=d:\db2.dmp buffer=1000000 Full=y log=db2_exp.log compress=y
But the problem is that it again takes the dump of db1 ...even with the dbname change to yyy...but the database db1 & db2 are working fine...
does anyone faced such a problem? anybody can help me?

Experts please tell why it is taking too much time using @sid?

Is this database on the same server as you are doing the export? Exporting using a TNS entry is very slow, even if it is on the same server. Can you export directly from the database server? If it's on the same server, set your ORACLE_SID first and then leave the TNS entry off.when i do export with @xe its taking 35 minutes
But if I ran same export without @xe it takes 1 minutes

What matters is you are using the TCP protocol, a routable protocol, when you use tnsnames.ora
When you set Oracle_sid, you use the IPC/BEQ protocol, a non-routable protocol, communicating using Interprocess communication between your session and the dedicated server process.
A difference of a factor 5 is quite normal.

Java application to connect to AP 7.00 (IPC)

Hi,
I have to develop standalone java application that connects to IPC and does configurations via the IPC Server (via the RFCs the IPC Server exports).
I have JCo connection to the SAP ECC system (only one server. I assume the IPC server is running on the same host)
I then tried to call the "CREATE_SESSION" command. Repository returned null.
Do I need to set a special SystemNr in JCODestination? (To connect to the IPC Server)
Or is it possible to make a connection to SAP ECC system and then call the IPC RFCs?
Does SAP provide a function/transaction to retrieve a list of functions that a RFC destination supports?
Is there a Howto document on how to call the IPC server from a standalone (Java) application?
I hope somebody can help me!

CIFS Exports spontaneously disappear

Hi,
On our new OES11sp1 box we have one volume and it is exported as a CIFS share. Sadly the volume will not stay exported. If I restart cifsd (rcnovell-cifs restart) the export will show up and then a few seconds later it will be gone - only IPC$ will be present. Can't see any error messages in the /var/log/messages or cifs.log files. The service shows as running. Weird. Any ideas on causes or further trouble shooting steps? (I have not actually rebooted the server yet....).

Hoist with my own petard. Early on I wanted to test something... like removing default automatic exports of all volumes including the _ADMIN volume. Netware of course only exports what you want it to. So I put a couple of entries in the file /etc/init.d/after.local : novcifs -srn _ADMIN and novcifs -srn HOME. Apparently (I did not know this) the after.local stuff is executed when restarting the novell-cifs service without actually restarting the server.

1 single bit has changed in RAM that has been marked with a pattern 0xdeadbeefdeadbeef that is intended to detect when it is modified after having been released by some kernel code (including 3rd party extensions).
While some kernel code could have told the OS it was done using a bit of RAM, but then continued to use it after the OS wrote 0xdeadbeefdeadbeef into the RAM, it is also possible that the RAM is failing and switched the value of one bit from 1 to 0
0xd is 1101 in binary bits
0x5 is 0101 in binary bits
You may want to download and run Rember over and over again (as it set the repeat loops to a very high number or click Maximum). You want to run lots of passes as RAM failures can be intermittent.

You should do a clean boot, quit all apps, including anything that runs in your Menu Bar. Maybe even consider booting into Safe Mode (see next paragraph for safe mode info). This is so that as much RAM as possible is available for Rember to test.
If Rember does not find anything, you can try booting into Safe Mode to see if it is some 3rd party addition that is causing problems

You need to check Basis patch level by SPAM. Update to latest.
Second, Check Kernel patch level by SM51. Update to latest.

FCPX Export Compressor Settings QT Error -2045 and more...

I have a 56 minute FCPX project that won't export. I've tried standard h264 and using Compressor settings for HD 720 for YouTube / Video.
Most recent error is QuickTime Error -2045 - can't find this error documented anywhere.
My console log last recorded for FCP this error:

Now prior to this last (4th attempt) at exporting I was getting this error:

I found a decoder online but perhaps it's 32bit... however, this is just the last time; prior I was getting the no decoder error
1) What is -2045 error
2) What is the proper decoder to use for XVID
3) I do get a warning that there is missing media, effects, titles or generators - and I can see the inspector tell me that these are related to motionVFX Project 543 (see error above) but I can't find any instance of these effects not implemented. So, how can you quickly find any missing media (redzone) or other in a FCPX project without scrolling or playing through it. If something is missing I would expect that I should be able to quickly have my playhead jump to the missing media segment within my project. But I can't figure out how.
4) I need to deliver this project and can't get a suitable export and I'm on deadline, so any thoughts are appreciated. My ideal output is a file to load to Vimeo; secondly a good quality Quicktime movie would be nice. The file is about 50GB (my guess) I need less than 5GB and 720p HD

2 database EE and XE..import export

i have 2 DB installed on my PC..
1) Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production and
2) Oracle Database 10g Express Edition
i am trying to IMPort a schema (002n) from EE into XE by the name (002)
i have created the schema "002" in XE.
but when issue IMP command from the command. i think it is running the IMP
utility of the EE file location...
in the Environment variable of XP,,the path is ;

Problem in Oracle export

Hi,
I have Oracle 8.1.7 server/client on same machine (standalone)...i have created 2 database...db1(dbname - xxx) & db2 (dbname-yyy)
I wanted to take a database dump using "exp.exe"...
for my db1 i was able to take with the following commands..
d:\oracle\ora81\bin\exp.exe sys/change_on_instal@xxx file=d:\db1.dmp buffer=1000000 Full=y log=db1_exp.log compress=y
But when i tried for db2 with the dabname changed...
d:\oracle\ora81\bin\exp.exe sys/change_on_instal@yyy file=d:\db2.dmp buffer=1000000 Full=y log=db2_exp.log compress=y
But the problem is that it again takes the dump of db1 ...even with the dbname change to yyy...but the database db1 & db2 are working fine...
does anyone faced such a problem? anybody can help me?

I am pasting teh entries for the tnsnames.ora,listener.ora& snmp_ro.ora here...
