    Hello,
Could you please tell me which version of IPC is compatible for ECC 5.0 system?. Is there a choice from AP7.0, IPC5.0 or IPC4.0?.
I appreciate your help, I would reward points for helpful answers.
    Thanks,

    Eswar,
I am sorry to mention IPC5.0. Can I use IPC4.0 for ECC5.0?. I dont have any CRM5.0 in landscape, and not planning to use one.
I read in the documentation somewhere that AP7.0 is only available from ECC6.0.
Kindly tell me which is the correct one to use for ECC5.0?.
    Thanks,

  • Question about IPC for CRM 5.0

    Hi ,
I have a question about CRM 5.0 with relation to the IPC .
As we know the IPC  will be available internally from  CRM 5.0 , but we would like to know if the internal IPC  will be distributed with different applications or will it be one IPC  for all the different applications .
    Thanks in advance

  • TU&UC for ECC5 MDMP system

    Hello ,
We are planning to do Upgrade and Unicode conversion of ECC5 MDMP system to ECC6 Unicode system . We are analysing what method to adopt for unicode conversion.
Whether to adopt Combined upgrade and Unicode conversion or Twin upgrade and Unicode conversion,
Client preferring to adopt Twin upgrade and Unicode conversion . Is Twin upgrade and Unicode conversion is preferred method for ECC5 MDMP(SAP BASIS 640) System? and is it possible with these version?
    Regards
    Vinay

    Hi Vinay,
TU&UC is a must for MDMP customers with source release < 4.6C.
However it is an option for customers with source release >= 4.6c.
The advantage (compared to CU&UC) is that you do not have to schedule the SPUMG scans on the PRD system.
This is especially recommended in case of a very large system or if customers already encounter performance problems on their PRD system.

  • Using IPC for VC in ECC 6.0

    Hi ,
We can switch the VC into IPC in ECC6.0 . What is the program to use in order to do the switch ? ( I did read that somewhere , but do not recall where was that )
    Thank you .

    Hello Cristophe,
You can maintain the called up Configurator(Only IPC) in a customizing table CUCFGSW on material level in ECC .Where used can tell you utilities for mass update(with objkey OR type).
PLease share if you've also something else.

  • Combined upgrade and Unicode conversion for ECC5 MDMP system

    Hello,
We are planning to do Upgrade and Unicode conversion of ECC5 MDMP system to ECC6 EHP4 Unicode. We are adopting Combined upgrade and Unicode conversion strategy to minimise the downtime.
In source version ECC5 we are in support pack level 6. Should we need to update the support pack to any target version to start with CU&UC or we can start with ECC5 with SP 6 itself.
Since we cant afford more downtime for support pack update also, is it ok to start with upgrade and unicode conversion with current version.
    please advice.
    Regards
    Vinay

    Hello Vinay,
please note that as a prerequisite the Basis SP should be accurate for an MDMP conversion.
There is no MUST to have the latest Basis SP, but without you could have severe issues in SPUMG.
On the application side, there are in most cases no hard requirements on the SP level.

  • Ipc for SRM self service procurement

we are setting up our SRM server for self-service procurement, when I try to configure IPC server, the administrator tool ask me which system for IPC to connect to: DATABASE, CRM system or R/3 system. there is not an option for SRM system. which one should I choose? I picked CRM system and IPC seem to work fine, is SRM considered CRM system in this case?
    Thanks
    Jane

    Dear Jane
At many places specially for middleware settings Srm uses CRM middleware settings as SRM in not fully concise with middleware settings.
Like where we define the sites in transcation SMOEAC we use R/3 and CRM sites to define the SRM and r/3 sites.
Many at places SRM uses CRM infrastuture for middleware settings.

  • Ipcs for semaphores empty?!?!

    Hi all,
I'm trying to do up an Operating Systems class assignment which involves the use of semaphores (the Sys V type) using semget(). My code is definitely correct for the creation of a semaphore (in fact I get the -1 error if I try to create the same semaphore number twice).
issuing ipcs in Terminal gives me no info about the SEMAPHORES.
Yes, I read the thread about using sudo ipcs -a. It still doesn't show me the semaphores in existence. Shared memory stuff, yes, semaphores, no.
I'm really hoping to use Xcode/OS X for this... I don't want to have to do this project in Linux.

FWIW, I run ipcs -ma and ipcs -sa regularly as part of a little check script that I wrote, and I've never seen any semaphores listed.

  • SAPGUI Requirements for ECC5.0 Backend

    Sir or Madam,
I'm just starting the planning phase for an upgrade to ECC5.0 and was curious what SAPGUI version is required for use with ECC5.0.  All of my users are currently using the 6.2 front-end.
    Many Thanks,
    Shane

    We use already ECC5.0
Our SAPGUI is 6.20 patch-level 60 without any problems.

Also increased the abap/buffer size to 400000.

  • IPC for xbacklight - xfce4-brightness-plugin

I've modified the brightness plugin via ABS so that it displays the current brightness in its tooltip.
This works fine while the plugin itself is used to modify brightness.
However, when xbacklight is used, then the plugin will not know to update its tooltip, because it doesn't get notified about the brightness change.
What is an elegant way to contact brightness-plugin when xbacklight manipulates the backlight brightness?
My simple idea so far is:
xbacklight must be called by a script which will also write to a file in a specific location, and brightness-plugin will continuously poll that location, and then notice the brightness change when it sees that temporary file. That sounds pretty crude though, doesn't it?
    Thanks

KMS is explained here http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/KMS intel specific here http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Intel In short, AFAIK, graphic card/adapter initialization and configuration are done in kernel, without the need for user interaction. That way, user should get all graphic related stuff setup as soon as kernel loaded (this includes native display resolution both in console and X, backlight control, power-saving, etc). Follow the instruction mentioned in wiki above, and let's see the result.
