IPCC Resiliency issue - Dummy PG Setup

Hi All,
We have IPCC 7.0 (SR4) geographically distributed setup for resiliency. The Rogger, Agent PG, IP IVR, CCM are distributed across 2 different sites.
Currently there are 2 PG's (PG1 - CCM & IP IVR PIM's, PG2 - MRPG) installed in the Agent PG Servers at both sites. The MR PG is currently out of Service and we are not in a position to start the service currently, but we do not want to remove it either.
Since PG2 is not in service, we are facing problem that the Router failover (to Router B) does not work. We understand from previous postings that installing Dummy PG is the solution to resolve the IPCC resiliency issue.
The question is ...is there a limitation from Cisco that the maximum number of PG's which can installed per server is 2..?.Can we install the 3rd PG on the same physical server (Agent PG), since we have the MR PG out of Service, we can install and start the 3rd PG ( Dummy PG) which we believe will resolve the resiliency issue. Will Cisco come back saying that this is an un-supported configuration..?.
We have busy call routers and other servers in the setup and hence any other systems in the current setup cannot be considered for Dummy PG installation.
Appreciate your suggestions in this regard.

Have you considered disabling the PIM on PG2 and starting it so that it connects to the router so you have 2 PG's connected? Then when you are ready just enable the PIM on PG2. This would save installing a 3rd dummy PG.
Whether you can have 3 PG's or not on a server will depend on the specification of the hardware. A dummy PG would not take up much processor or memory as it would not have a PIM enabled.

We have a requirement of creating an AME setup for Cost center and category approval.
The requirement is that, for a PO Requisition header, the approval must be routed dynamically on the basis of requisition total at header level. A header may have multiple lines, each line will have a particular category, and the approval must be routed for each line on the basis of category at line level .Now for each line there might be multiple cost centers, for each cost center the approval must be routed separately at distribution level.
E.G. Let say we Requisition 123456, with lines A and B.
Line A have cost centers 0000 and 0001.B has cost center 0000 and 0002
So approvals must be routed in the following way
Header Level:
Requisition total amount of A and B => approval routed to Smith
Line Level:
A category (software) must route to head of software person
B category (hardware)  must route to head of hardware person
Distribution Level
For A, Cost center
0000 Must be routed to supervisor of department
0001  Must be routed to supervisor of department
For B, Cost center
0000  Must be routed to supervisor of department
0002  Must be routed to supervisor of department
Please suggest if this business requirement is possible in Ame and suggest a proper approach to proceed with the requirement.

I set up the the sync add on and had no errors.When I sync now I get"Sync encountered an error while syncing:Firefox sync server maintenance is underway..."I have gotten this mesaage for the last 10 hours.Should I wait or is there an issue with my setup?

I just loaded Firefox onto my laptop. I set up the the sync add on and had no errors. When I hit sync now I get "Sync encountered an error while syncing: Firefox sync server maintenance is underway, syncing will resume automatically." I have gotten this message for the last 10 hours. Should I wait or is there an issue with my setup? I checked the Mozilla sync server status and it listed no issues.

Hard Issue: How to setup this uncommon Depreciation Method??

Hello All, thanks very much for reading my thread.
We faced an hard issue on FA.
Scenarios:
according to client's company policy, assets should can be depreciated after useful life! For example:
Asset "A", life year is 4 years. During 4 years, each year depreciation is "Cost * (1 / (Life + 1))" , after 4 years, each year depreciation is "Previous year depreciation * 1/2" until asset "A" is retired.
Year Depreciation
1 cost * 1/5
2 cost * 1/5
3 cost * 1/5
4 cost * 1/5
5 cost * 1/5 * 1/2
6 cost * 1/10 * 1/2
7 cost * 1/20 * 1/2
Do R12 can meet above requirement ? We try to use "Formula Depreciation Method" to setup, but finally we found Oracle Ebs NOT allow depreciate after useful year. In addition, does ebs R12 can set asset continuing depreciation after useful year????
If you are setting the Depreciation Method Formula, what is the formula you will give??

For uncommon depreciation methods, i usually do an "Unplanned Depreciation" on the asset. That is, I calculate it manually and adjust the depreciation.
Well this might be a workaround if ever no one come up with a standard solution.

Is this problem for all areas in LO?If yes then follow as below or if not check log.
Check with PP team whether they have created the data in the system.I hope there is wrong in the procedure.Might be you are checking in the development system of r/3.I hope your client is also mainataining separate cient for Data and that client will be cross-client.
Ex : 100 is dvelop client where you will activate DS. AND 200 WILL be test client. Here you have to setup.

IPCC Failover issue

I have 2 IPCC 7.x server configured for failover. The issue is when I am logged into my agent and my primary server failsover to backup server, my agent looses connection/goes offline and reconnects in not ready after 15 seconds. The same applies if I failback from my secondary to primary server.
Is this a normal behaviour ? Is there a document on cisco that describes the same issue. Please let me know.

Not sure with IPCC Enterprise, but IPCC Express (or UCCX nowadays) the behavior you are reporting is expected. From the design guide:
Automatic Failover. Upon failure of the active Cisco Unified CCX server, CAD will automatically re-login agents on the standby server, and the agent will be placed into a Not Ready state. Upon failure of the active Cisco Unified CCX server, active calls on agents phones will survive. However, the call duration and other information that is associated with the call in the historical reporting database may be affected. Historical reports generated for time periods in which a failover occurred will have missing or incorrect data. It will be called out in the report that a failover occurred.

It should also be noted that with UCCX, failback to the primary node (when it comes back on line) isn't automatic. Mainly because the failback will exhibit the same behavior (along with an approximate 5 second hit on ACD/IVR functionality). So, the failback should be manual - in my experience anyway.

License issue with ISE setup

Good Day All,
For a setup of 2 ISE on 2 site, connected via a WAN Link. A 1000 users license is used.
My question is that if the WAN link is down, how will the license distribution be?
Will the secondary policy cease to accept new connection? or will be allow up to 500? or 1000?

This would depend on the ISE structure. If you only have one admin node then the connection to that admin node drops...the other ISE will stop funtioning, but if you have some sort of redundancy builtin to the structure it is possible to continue using both assuming you can use the same license base, but if you have 500 device license on one, and 500 on the other, then that will be the limit for each location.
For instance we have a single admin node, but 2 locations using ISE for VPN users....if the link goes down here, then no one can connect at the remote site. But people that connect to the VPN here will continue to function.

Load Balancing issue on RAC setup

1. We have a Oracle RAC cluster having two node say node1-vip and node2-vip
2. We have two client software (both uses weblogic as app server) say ANP and HDM
3. We configure connect string for HDM by giving node1-vip as primary and node2-vip as secondary. Here is the connect string we provide

We are observing that connection for HDM is only going to node1-vip however connection for ANP sometime goes to only node2-vip however sometime it is getting distributed between node1-vip and node2-vip. Whenever there is more connection on node1-vip than node2-vip then connection for ANP is only going to node2-vip however whenever number of connection at node2-vip is equal or greater than node-1 vip, connection for ANP gets distributed between node1-vip and node2-vip

Why have you put *(LOAD_BALANCE=off)* ?
And from your post, you are not trying to use actual load balancing.
You are trying to give connectivity like this HDM->node 1 and ANM->node 2
In that case you need tp specify only one server vip address.
When you configure the connection entries like above, when a new user session connection is requested, listener will connect the user to whichever address is reachable at that time.

Dummy account setup question

My employers have set up an email address for me ([email protected]) that simply filters through their server to my existing gmail address. Mail retrieves this mail when it checks my gmail. In order to be able to send from the employers address, I added it to my gmail as a "send from" address and that works fine if I am logged in on my browser, but I want to be able to send from that address on Mail as well.
I set up a new account, using my gmail settings for the incoming and outgoing settings - works fine to send but it tries to check for email and hangs. Is there a way to do this - I don't need it to check for mail, I just need the ability to send from that [email protected] address.

Apache2 + mod_perl2 + dbxml issue

we are experiencing an annoying issue with the setup mentioned in the subject, and since we haven't been able to find a solution for a while now, we're seeking for help in this forum.
We have a web application built as a couple of perl modules, based on apache2 and mod_perl2 as our "framework". The application is spread across multiple virtual hosts, the virtual hosts load different perl modules. Upon apache's startup, each of the virtual hosts loads our app modules, and our perl modules in turn load Sleepycat::DbXml. The result is that within each virtual host, the dbxml env is opened once.
For those less familiar with modperl, mod_perl2 allows for a quite detailed configuration, regarding how the (potentially multiple) perl interpreters should be used per virtual host. The purpose of the different available conf. directives is to have an automatic and dynamic utilization of system resources, depending on the server load.
If configured appropriately, apache/mod_perl will spawn (clone) new perl interpreters
when there are more concurrent requests, and also automatically unload (destroy) perl interpreters when too many become idle.
Now, everything is fine if the mod_perl virtual host settings are set to a constant number of perl interpreters during the whole apache lifetime.
But the issue begins as soon as we allow for dynamic spawning/unloading of perl interpreters. We noticed that as soon as one perl interpreter is destroyed, we get a crash of the httpd child process with the message "illegal instruction", caused by a berkeley db / dbxml module.
Moreover, after such a crash the rest of the virtual hosts (perl interpreters) cannot perform any read or write operation on the dbxml. :(

okay - we have finally understood the problem, and so I want to share the results here... maybe it helps someone who wants to use Apache/mod_perl together with dbxml.
The key to understand the issue is to understand how mod_perl works with the perl interpreters. Important to know: there is a "parent" perl interpreter, that is spawned first.
(either one per httpd process, or - like in our case - one parent per virtual host).
Then additional interpreters are "cloned" from the "parent" perl, until the configured total number of perl interpreters is reached. As mentioned in the first posting below, the total number of perl interpreters can be either configured constant, or can be configured dynamic. The "parent" perl interpreter is created already during Apache's startup phase;
in case of the "dynamic configuration", the additional perl interpreters can be "cloned" or destroyed during http request time.
Now, the big mistake that we made, was to have the perl code handling the opening of dbxml env/manager/container already on the "top" level of our perl module. Thereby the code was of course executed as soon as the first perl interpreter was loaded, i.e. when the parent interpreter was loaded. Then this "parent" perl was "cloned" and so the dbxml object handles were cloned too. Later, when mod_perl decided to destroy one of the "cloned" interpreters, as it was not needed anymore, all the object destructors were called implicitly, this way also the dbxml objects. We had not expected a problem here. We assumed the "cloning" process would have properly taken care of duplicating the dbxml "object handles" (whatever that means :) but obviously that's not the case. As soon as one of the "cloned" perl interpreters is destroyed, the dbxml env/mgr/container variables are destroyed and that takes to death the other perl interpreters and the whole httpd process.
So... once understood, the solution for our problem was quite simple: To move the dbxml env/mgr/container opening away from the module top, and move it into a subroutine, that is called only if demanded. I.e. the dbxml read/write code first checks if the dbxml env. is already opened, and if not it is opened. That's a little bit of overhead, but it needs to happen only once per perl interpreter lifetime. Then the opened env. is reused all the time.
So in other words, the dbxml env/mgr/container handles are no more created in the "parent" interpreter, but only within the "cloned" interpreter. Whenever the "cloned" interpreter needs to be killed, all its objects can be happily killed too, including dbxml, but that's no problem anymore, because it does not affect the "parent" perl or the sister "clones" at all.
That's the whole story...

Jabber for iPad video issue

How can I troubleshoot video issues?
I setup the iPad device (G711) and then placed a call to a Jabber for Windows (G729) phone. Audio worked fine but no video. I changed the Jabber for Windows to G711 and video started working?
Is Jabber for iPad going to support G729 and if so when?

Jabber for Windows - Outlook Meeting integration issue/questions

Hi,
A couple of questions if anyone else has experienced or can answer:
1. When you turn on Jabber it appears in the trace file to create a transitionlist of meetings in your calendar for the next four hours. Eg if meeting 8-9 it will show 8:00 BUSY
9:00 FREE
and this works ok. This transitionlist also seems to update each time a status change occurs from what I have observed.
The problem we seem to have is if I open Jabber at 7.45am and have a meeting 8 - 9 then it shows "In a meeting", then if I create a meeting at 9.15am for 10am-10.30am, the meeting status does not change as it seems to operate of the four hour transitionlist. I have the setting in the CUPS server for exchange sync to happen every twenty minutes, but this does not seem to update.
I'm be focussing on the wrong area but basically not all calendar appt's update status in Jabber, especially the one's created within the four hour pperiod.
2. To have the presence status of a person in an Outlook email address field, do you need 2010 or does it work with prior versions, we currently operate 2003. I have configured the SIP component in AD, but no status or click to call facility from Outlook.

Known issues for OBIEE Office Add in with Excel 2007?

Does anybody know if there are issues for the office add-in with Office 2007?
i'm playing around a little bit to see how it works, but it seems that Excel interferes with the layout.
I do get different grafs and also i tried the tutorial with the excel template and my changes come only partly through.
