Ipcu error: Runtime Error on Visual C++ runtime library

Hi, I'm new to iPhone Configuration Utility on Windows. I just downloaded the latest version and installed after installing the latest version of iTunes and rebooting. I'm on Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit.
When starting ipcu, I get a dialog titled: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library and text of
Program: C...
R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I click OK and get ...
an iPhone Configuration Utility dialog that says:
iPhone Configuration Utility failed to locate 'Apple Mobile Device Support'. Please reinstall iPhone Configuration Utility. You can download iPhone Configuration Utility from ....
I click OK and get the same Visual C++ dialog again.
I click OK and then it shuts down.
Everything appears to be installed. There is no ipcu.log created in C:\Program Files (x86)\iPhone Configuration Utility
Ideas?

when itry run form give me error
Visual c++ runtime library assertion failed
xperssion result ==utjer_success
frm_10039 : unable to startup the from builder.
why? I don't know if this is the same issue, but we receive the same error if trying to "run" a form on a client machine that has an unpatched version of the Forms Runtime, but the Form was created with a Patched version and uses certain functionality such as a Treeview. The solution for us was to Patch the client version, and everything worked fine.
Hope this helps.

  • I tried to update iTunes to 11.4.1 and received error code R6034 Microsoft Visual C   Runtime Library attempt to access incorrectly.  How do I fix?

    I received a request from iTunes concerning updating my iTunes with 11.4.1.  The update was on my Vista Home Basic Computer.  During the process of updating I received this message which stopped me from completing the update.
    Micosoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Program C:\Program Files (x86)...
    R6034
    An application has made an attempt to load the C Runtime Library incorrectly.  Please contact the applications support team for more information.
    This referred to the iTunes 11.4.1 update.  I have tried everything under the sun to get it to update correctly to no avail.
    In ideas on how to get the update to finalize???

    Hello George54701,
    The following article provides steps that can help get iTunes successfully updated.

  • The latest update has resulted in a runtime error (R6034) and I keep being told Microsoft Visual C   Runtime Library is being accessed incorrectly.  Anyone know how to overcome the problem?  I am using a Dell Inspiron  9400 running Vista.

    The latest update to itunes has resulted in a whole series of runtime errors (R6034).  Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library states it is being accessed incorrectly.  I am also told that Apple Mobile Device Failed to Start.  Additional messages suggest the error is in itunes.exe and ituneshelper.exe.  I also get Error 7 (Windows error 1114).  Anyone got any ideas how to overcome this (these) problems?

    Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • M/S Visual C++ runtime error message when trying to start iTunes

    I deleted the Yahoo toolbar from Internet Explorer via the add/remove programs function. Now whenever I try to start iTunes, I get a Windows error message stating
    "Microsoft Visual C++ runtime library Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\Program Files\iTunes/iTunes.exe
    This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information."
    I tried restarting the computer- then reinstalled the latest version of iTunes, all to no avail. Still unable to start iTunes, same Windows error message. Help!
    Thanks in advance-

    Do you have any iTunes plug-ins installed in
    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application
    Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes Plug-ins
    Take them out of the folder and try iTunes again.
    Hi, MacMuse-
    Thanks for replying. I checked, that folder is
    blank/there are no plugins. Another thing- I
    mentioned I had removed the Yahoo Toolbar- what I
    didn't mention was that I installed the Google
    toolbar in its place. I removed that and restarted
    the computer once again, still no joy.
    Wes
    I'm getting the same issue; no plugins installed.
    I started having this problem about two weeks ago with iTunes 7.2, and tried each of:
    * Updating to 7.3: worked for several days, then back to same thing
    * Changing Quicktime settings to "safe mode" as described in the "unknown error" article
    * Uninstalling Google toolbar
    * Uninstalling Google desktop
    Still no luck.

  • Apple pls fix this - MS Visual C++ Runtime error after installing itune 9.1

    Ever since I upgraded itune to the latest version 9.1, I kept getting the error messasge below when I start up the computer. Tried restoring system to a previous date, and uninstalling & installing itune a couple times to no avail. Any idea what's going on and how to fix this? I had to remove itune to be able to use my computer (ugh). The irony is that the itune upgrade was mainly to enable ipad. Now that I have my ipad I can't use itune.
    The error message reads:
    'MS Visual C++ Runtime Error' - 'Runtime Error'
    This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the support team for further assistnace.

    Some people have reported that Apple Software Update can cause this error, so you might try removing that and see if it helps. Removing that utility should not affect iTunes, though you won't get automatic updates (you can just download any new version of iTunes or QuickTime manually and install it). It would, however, be wise to make a backup of any purchased content or items that would otherwise be difficult to replace, just in case something goes wrong during the removal.

  • Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error in iTunes

    The last few days I've tried to open iTunes and about 3-5 seconds after it opens I get an error report saying:
    "Software Application has encountered a problem and needs to close."
    I click "Don't Send."
    Immediatley afterward I get a error message saying:
    "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error!"
    I click "OK" and iTunes closes automatically.
    So I checked out my QuickTime and I get a error saying:
    "We're unable to find iTunes on your computer."
    a few seconds later I get the C++ error message again.
    hmm...any thoughts?

    Its seems to be working now.
    I reinstalled Quicktime and updated iTunes.

  • ITunes won't open - 'Runtime Error'

    Hi. Hopefully someone can help me with this problem as I really have no idea what to do.
    I use my iTunes everyday and there has never been a problem until today, when all of a sudden, my iTunes refused to work.
    On opening it, the iTunes window comes up, followed very quickly by an error window titled 'Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library'. In the box it says 'Runtime error! This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information'.
    And then it closes iTunes down again immediately.
    On coming to the Apple support web site to try and 'contact the applications support team' I was directed here.
    So I'm hoping someone can help me.
    I assumed at first it was a virus, but ran my virus software and got rid if anything dodgy on my system, and it's still doing it.
    I don't want to uninstall my itunes, then re-install as I'll lose a lot of the stuff on there. Given that I bought a bunch of new songs at the iTunes store yesterday, that I haven't yet backed up, I really don't want to have to uninstall.
    Can anyone shed any light on the matter? I can't live without my iTunes. This is VERY important.
    Thanks

    OK, I downloaded the new version (with downloads of over 70MB, you'd expect Apple to come up with 'Patches' instead).
    Installing iTunes 7.3.1 allowed me to listen to my music once again.
    My question is: Since the error comes from the updater, which AFAIK was not 'fixed' by this release. Does it mean it will show up again, when Apple decides to release another version?
    <rant>
    I'm more than happy to see a company releasing bug fixes frequently, but having to spend at least one hour everytime they do, while I research why did my music stopped playing is not good. Specially after reading what is included in the new version: iPhone goodies... while iPhone is not even available outside USA.

    Hey Peronthious,
    What version of iTunes is installed on your computer? If its not 7.1.1 download it here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
    If you are already using iTunes 7.1.1 lets use this article: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976 to completely remove iTunes and reinstall it. The article also has a link to a MSCONFIG article: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302538 which may help resolve the issue.

  • Runtime Error on Win. Vista

    I had to download Windows Vista for school because the college of business I am attending upgraded when windows did so I got screwed. I am immediately kicking myself for uploading Vista because it is the worst product ever made. Bill Gates convinced me to buy a iBook as my next computer. My iTunes will now not open and I have tried EVERYTHING that this site has told me. I even tried calling Windows themselves but they were going to charge me $59.00 to call them. I keep getting the same error message reading:
    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
    Please I am begging someone to help. I have more than 7,000 songs that I really don't want to lose!
    Thank You

    Hi all,
    I came here to research the same issue. Running tvsukernel directly works for me. I did not try the compatibility mode method. (Why having a 646KB binary to launch a 193KB binary is beyond me, but I am glad the direct run method works.)

  • Rode podcaster and runtime error.

    hello, i hope someone can help me with this problem. i purchased adobe auditon 3.0 because i do podcasting and i needed a program that would support 2 usb microphones. well i have no problem getting one of my microphones to record (an MXL usb .006) but when i plug in my rode podcaster and try to use it (and this is with the MXL unplugged, so i havent even tried to use multiple usb mics yet) it gives me a error that reads "microsoft visual C++ runtime library" as the header, then it reads "runtime error! program:...rogram files (x86)\adobe\adobe audition3.0\audition.exe
    this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. please contact the application 's support team for more information."
    the laptop is running windows vista, the 64 bit version.
    so can anyone give me an idea what to do next?

    >and i have no clue what you mean when you say use the wdm usb driver rather then the asio ones, so any advice there would be appreciated.
    Well, this is the simplest explanation I can manage that explains the important principles:
    WDM drivers are the ones that Microsoft intend to work with the OS (Windows Driver Model), and they allow for the use of multiple spund devices - wherever and however they are attached. But, these drivers have inevitably got a higher latency (delay introduced in processing signals), because they sit nearer to the top of the processing heirarchy in the OS. ASIO gets around the latency problem by short-cutting most of the OS, and allows software using its engine to talk more or less directly to your sound device - singular. To use any more than a singular device would require the arbitration that the OS would have to provide, thus destroying the point of doing this in the first place.
    What ASIO4ALL does is to take the ASIO-based stream from Audition, or any other software using the same engine, and convert that back to a WDM-based internal protocol. It is bi-directional, so signals coming in (like from your USB mics) can be converted from their WDM format into ASIO for Audition, as well. As a consequence, ASIO4ALL can redirect a multi-channel stream to different devices, and can also take multiple input streams from them as well, combining them into a concurrent ASIO stream. There are several penalties to be paid though - the increased latency is one, and also you could
    potentially run into sync problems, but not with the application you have in mind, I think.
    There is one important bit in the ASIO4ALL FAQ that you should note, but a comment on it is needed:
    >After some initial troubles with earlier revisions, the driver now appears to work just fine with numerous USB devices. one thing to not do, I mean: not ever! is to check the DMA box with USB devices. If you do not need all the additional software gizmos like EAX, EQ, Fake3D-Whatever... it is recommended that you _not_ install the drivers shipped with your USB audio interface. Windows has a built-in generic USB audio driver that works with most devices. Thus, if you want to have honest, no-nonsense, low-latency audio playback/recording with your USB audio interface - by all means: stick with the Windows driver! This is especially true for consumer grade stuff, where you can be assured that the drivers shipped with it are most likely 'consumer grade' as well.
    One of the problems with USB mics is that you may well need to install at least the control applet for it, otherwise it
    may not be usable sensibly at all. But, USB mics vary - so what you would need to do in any given situation, I can't comment on. In the past though, it's been pretty apparent that without the control applet, at least some of them have no sensible gain control or routing. But I would emphasise that this is very much a YMMV situation.
    >i freely admit i need to do more research and reading on the software, but i have been told by people using multiple usb mics that this is what they used, or at least earlier versions of adobe audition.
    That would be true. The earlier version referred to would probably be 1.5, which was the last version to use the built-in WDM system for recording, although all earlier versions could do this too, at least in principle. I believe, though, that there were other difficulties recording from USB sources with earlier versions, so all bets are off unless you've actually tried what you want to do with a specific hardware/software combination and actually
    know it works.

  • Media Manager - Runtime Error

    When attempting to access the pictures on my 8130 through desktop manager v. 4.3, Media Manager, as I always do, I am getting a new error and it isn't allowing me to access the contents of my device. I am using XP. This is what the error window says:
    "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    X Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\program Files\Roxio\Media Manager 9\Mediamanager9.exe
    This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
    Please contact the applications support team for more information.
    OK BUTTON"
    When you close that window another pops up that says:
    "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    X Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\program Files\Roxio\Media Manager 9\Mediamanager9.exe
    R6025
    - pure virtual function call.

    Roxi Media Manager is integrated with Desktop Manager and I don't know how exactly to proceed. Anyone that may be able to point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate.

    I found a solution that has worked for me. I ran the install (450_b016_english.exe) and followed the prompts to modify the installation (I planned on removing Roxio/MM9 component). But before I did that, I ticked to install the 'certificate synchronisation' (copyright/private keys stuff I think) feature just to see what would happen. It went through the install, restarted the PC, and hey presto! all working. It did ask for a password to be set presumably for the synch certs thing to work.
    I didn't like that so then I decided to rerun the install and untick/remove the certifictae thing (being curious to see if I would be back to MM9 errors), followed the prompts, restarted the PC and hey presto! still working.
    This suggests that in my case MM9 couldn't work because of an essential but missing setting, component, registry change, or such like that is not reversed when Certs are uninstalled.
    BTW - I had to use the full OEM installation file because the option from within installed programs in the control panel required the temporary .msi file that is created during installation and is cleaned out once completed.
