IPG 2 Process Chain Conversion... Urgent!!!

Please give me idea about conversion of IPG's to Process Chains.
1). What are all points I should take care while converting Infopackage Group (IPG) to Process Chain?
2). And How this conversion be optimised?
And also provide with useful links for the same.

Infopackage Group to Process Chain Conversion

Dear Gurus,
We are going to do BI upgradation,prrequisite for that we have to convert all Infopackage groups in to Process Chain.In our system totally we 600 Infopackage groups.Let me know the optimized and oraganized way to make a process chain conversion.Before the conversion process, what are the basic measurement (Like sequence,Grouping under process chain,Scheduling .Etc...) Hello Sivakumar,
Try this Function Module RSPC_MIGRATE_INFOPACKAGE_GROUP , this should help you.
You can also goto Process Chain Maintanance in the InfoPackage Group and create the Process Chain.
If that doesn't then as a manual process, you have to note down all the InfoPackage sequence and include them in the Process Chain in the same order.

Infopackage groups to process chain conversion

HI Gurus,
I am doing Infopackage Groups to Process chain conversion by using procss chain maintanence icon in scheduler place of Info package group.If I am doing conversion I am getting all infopackages as parallel manner. I need to make it as serial manner.Eagerly expecting your reply.

Can you please clear about ur question:
r u doing infopackage group for ur PC. How many groups u have created.
Generaly if you prepare a batch for infopackages all will run in series( u have to give in proper manner while grouping).

Process chain error - urgent

Hi
we have a process chain based on Funda management.
we have the chain like start > load data(0PU_IS_PS_44 delta 0PU_IS_PS_42 delta>active data store data active data store data>AND>further processing further processing
Here on 10th 0PU_IS_PS_42 delta is displaying yellow.
and on 11th and 12th it is clear(i.e. every thing is greeen)
we are loading data from dso to cube.
when we check the data in cube on 10th it is not displaying data though the data mart symbol in dso mangae is displaying.
my doubt is how to make the request from yellow to green,and how to get the data of 10th date in to the cube.
I made the request red and repeat the process
but it is not done
please help me in this regard

Hi,
If you want to load the 10th data then you can do a selective load for that date. You have to go to your Infopackage/DTP in the Calday or any Date characteristic put a filter for 10th as date and load the data

Process chain problem - urgent

Hi
my process chain is got error at update from psa,it is showing yellow.
the data has loaded into the dsos but it is not activated
how can i activate it from process chain itself because if i do manually i have to do delete index,create index and compression all.
in more chain the process is strucked at AND process,it is not displaying any message only it is displaying variant.
in both of the above cases job was cancelled
kindly suggest me how to rectify this issues

hi,
what is QM status of the the request in the dso? is the settings in dso is made such that automatic qm status green?
force the qm status to green, and this might trigger the successive process in the chain.
is the successive process is activation of DSO? if no activation process is present, you include it for the next days chain in the planning view of the chain and activate it.
if any process is failed and AND procedd is not success and does not trigger the next process then force the AND process status to green using the function module RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH.

Hi - Process Chain Issue - Urgent - pls help

When iam executing the Process chain, its coming out of the loop without finishing the processes.
Its showing the overall status as green.
But, if we dig in to log and see the message.. its showing "Communication buffer deleted from previous run".
But, if i schedule the each processes manually, its successful.

I have a work to convert Infopackage groups to process chain. Let me know the tables which has maintained both infopackage groups and infopackages. Or any other way how to find inpackages are available in which Infopackage groups apart from manual finding in Inpackage scedule tab.Because I have to convert 600 infopackages to process chains.Eagerly anticipated your response

Hello Sivakumar,
You can convert the InfoPackage group to Process Chain from the InfoPackage Group maintanance, by clicking the Process Chain Maintanance.
You can check these tables
RSLGRPAK - InfoPackage assignment to group in hierarchy Scheduler
RSLGRPAKSH - InfoPackage assignment to group in hierarchy Scheduler
RSPAKPOS - Process position of the InfoPackages in InfoPackage groups

Process chain problem...., its urgent

Hi all
in my process chain we are loading 4 loads into ODS. After 3 loads, 4th load didn't take place. its not yet started even 3rd one successfully ran. its not showing error also. what can i do. after 4th one ODS activation process is there.
Please advice me. will i go for manual loading. if i do manual, what abt activation after 4th load. will i do activation also manual or else it will trigger automatically as part of process chain........../

Hi Swetha,
Sometimes, it doesn't help to just set a request to green status in order to run the process chain from that step on to the end.
You need to set the failed request/step to green in the database as well as you need to raise the event that will force the process chain to run to the end from the next request/step on.
Therefore you need to open the messages of a failed step by right clicking on it and selecting 'display messages'.
In the opened popup click on the tab 'Chain'.
In a parallel session goto transaction se16 for table rspcprocesslog and display the entries with the following selections:
1. copy the variant from the popup to the variante of table rspcprocesslog
2. copy the instance from the popup to the instance of table rspcprocesslog
3. copy the start date from the popup to the batchdate of table rspcprocesslog
Press F8 to display the entries of table rspcprocesslog.
Now open another session and goto transaction se37. Enter RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH as the name of the function module and run the fm in test mode.
Now copy the entries of table rspcprocesslog to the input parameters of the function module like described as follows:
1. rspcprocesslog-log_id -> i_logid
2. rspcprocesslog-type -> i_type
3. rspcprocesslog-variante -> i_variant
4. rspcprocesslog-instance -> i_instance
5. enter 'G' for parameter i_state (sets the status to green).
Now press F8 to run the fm.
Now the actual process will be set to green and the following process in the chain will be started and the chain can run to the end.
Of course you can also set the state of a specific step in the chain to any other possible value like 'R' = ended with errors, 'F' = finished, 'X' = cancelled ....
Check out the value help on field rspcprocesslog-state in transaction se16 for the possible values.
Try this solution with your 3rd ODS..hope this will solve your problem for this instance. This is just a workaround.
Before next scheduel of the process chain..remove the link between 3rd ODS and 4th ODS and then reconnect once again and activate the process chain and schedule it as per your schedule cycle. From next upload onwards everything works fine.

Source System Conversion in Remote Process Chain

Hi all!
I' working with BI7 SP12 and facing the following problem:
There is no source system conversion for Remote Process Chains, when transporting Process Chains with Remote Process Chains from DEV to QA.
First the following warning appears:
DEV-Destination of Remote Process Chain does not exist on QA-System.
==> The is correct because the DEV-Destination should have been converted to QA-Destination.
Then the following error appears:
Process Chain with the Remote Process Chain was not succesfully checked.
All source system conversion tables are maintained correctly!
The source system conversion works for example for InfoPackages correctly.
But for Remote Process Chain there is neither source system conversion for the Destination nor for Callback Destination. Both should be converted.
Do I have to do it manually??
Or do I have to create the DEV-Destination in SM59 on the QA-System??
==> We want to avoid this...

Please note:
When I create the DEV-Destination in SM59 on the QA-System,
the transport gets no warnings and no errors...
But there is still no conversion of the source systems for the Destination and the Callback Destination of the Remote Process Chain to QA-Destinations...
So, i think:
There is no automatic source system conversion of Remote Process Chains and I have to adjust it manually in the QA-System...

URGENT:Process Chains And events Related

Hi All,
I have created a new process chain which is a normal ODS Process Chain.For that I started with the start Process and then created event in sm62 to trigger the start of process chain.Similarly,I have at the end of the process chain ,I have added 2 ABAP Programs ,one to mark the successful completion of process chain and another to mark the Error or Unsuccessful completion.For these programs,I maintaines Processvariants and here, we have utility Programs.So used the relevant utility program and created a program variant and Events ,One for successful completion of process chain and another to mark the Error or Unsuccessful completion.
But ,Now ,I find that when I trigger the eventin sm64,I find that the process chain is not being run.Is that any problem with the events I created.This is the first i am involved with creation of events in SM62.Can anyone help me in this regard.
Can anyone,tell me thatdo we need to do anything else apart from Creating events .Imean like assigning jobs and then Programs in the Step of that Job.
Please Kindly help me in this regard.It is very very urgent for me.Thank you.Points will be assigned.

I have tried in the same way you have said .I have maintained as after event and activated and scheduled.after that i triggered the event insm64.But still,I am not able to see the Load in RSMO.
I have just checked out in sm37.And found that some jobs have failed.I think this might be the reason for the Process chain to not run.
I am just pasting the error msg and solution.

Diagnosis

hi Narendra,
try RSPC->choose your process chain, go to menu process chain-attributes-display component (shift+F11)-> a small screen 'assign display grouping will come out', choose the 'directory' you want. save the process chain and 'refresh'.

Urgent : Download file from Application Server via Process Chain.

Hi Experts,
My requirement is to download the file from Application Server to local work station using an ABAP Program .
I want including the above ABAP program in a process chain to execute the program daily,
I tried to use ARCHIVFILE_SERVER_TO_CLIENT and GUI_DOWNLOAD but unfortunately both the above FM doesn't support to run through Process chain.
Can any one of you help me to send the code which selects a file from application server, downloads to local system and deletes it.

Regarding your case ..
I suggest you to create the program where it run this function: WS_DOWNLOAD.
After it, the program is run by your process chain.

Issue in process chain (urgent)

Hi guru's,
i used customized abap program process type which was already created by somebody.
i linked this process type to 2 process types based on the success and failure.
on success of this process type it connects to another program process type , here there is no problem.
if it is success.
on failure i connected to attribute change run,
but it is not continuing , it is stucking there.
when i check in log view it is giving a msg " status of program xxxx is changed , do you want save the changes ?"
if i press "yes" chain is continuing.
but we dont want this , as this chain is scheduled in mid night
user cannot interact to this msg.
we want process chain run even if it is failed to next step without any user interaction. please help

It seems to be there is problem with links.
Remove the links and relink the process steps.
Now activate and schedule the process chain.
I have experienced the similar problem in past.

error in Process chains:
My Process Chain errors out in the step to activate the ODS after loading data inot it.
The loading is correct and green. The Activation step errors out .
Can u please explaing me the error messgae what it means & how to overcome the error & correct it ?
I get message like this :
Req. REQU_0WBTMPS7KTKP9BWTZ173XWX3Y, data package 000001 with status 2 in rsodsactreq missing in return
Message no. RSMPC129
Diagnosis
Request REQU_0WBTMPS7KTKP9BWTZ173XWX3Y, data package 000001 with status &3 in table 'RSODSACTREQ' is passed to the return structure as correct.
System response
The return structure is corrected and the data package is marked as incorrect.

Chris,
Looks like a request has not got deleted properly from the table :
Options that you could look at :
1. Delete all the data from the ODS and load again ( if that is an option )
2. There are some entries you need to delete from the RSODSACTREQ table- but for this the suggestion would be to raise an OSS note for SAP to look into the same - we had a similar issue and raised an OSS note for the same and then got some notes from sap.
Also please mention your BI version and patch level.
