IPhone 1.1.3 Crashing Camera, Photos and About screen in Preferences

Hi guys:
I've just returned from vacation and the first thing I did when I got in was update my iPhone to firmware 1.1.3. Sweet! So I now have the jiggling icons on my home screen which is awesome, however I can't open Photos or Camera and I can't get to the About screen in Preferences as they appear to crash and I get taken back to the home screen.
I updated from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 using iTunes 7.6 on Leopard 10.5.1 if this helps
Any advice would be appreciated!

I would say try restoring your phone w/ iTunes and see if that clears it up. There might just be a glitch in the software after the update.

At 1.3GB available, your storage space is getting very thin no matter what you do further. As long as you have the photo's in the camera roll saved on your computer you can delete them. Just make sure first that they are in your photo software. If updating in iTunes, just backup/sync first, then update, and that will save the camera roll in the backup as well.
At only 1.3GB you eventually are going to find yourself unable to install or update some app, or unable to take any new pictures, or some other limitation that will force you to free up space anyway. So now, before updating, sounds like a good time to make sure everything is backed up or stored somewhere else, and clean house a bit, then update.

OK, I understand. Try this ... it's much safer. It will simply restore your backup, but not do anything to your iOS:
While your iPhone is plugged in to iTunes, right click on the iPhone icon on the left side of the iTunes display.
Choose "Restore from backup ..." from the pop-up menu that appears.
Again, what this will do is place that backup back on your iPhone without changing iOS. So you should be very confident in the backup contents before doing this.

I never used icloud before so there is no data to back up from. I just spoke to the apple store and they said that if I do plug it in, all the data will be swiped....is there a program I can use to transfer my data from my phone to computer without loosing it all ???

With the new update for iphone, how do I delete a photo and how do I close open apps. There used to be a delete button to delete a photo and I used to double click on the main phone button and then click on the x to close an app.

Wipe the drive using DiskUtility and download and reinstall Yosemite and set it up as a new Mac. Then purchase the Apps you require with your own Apple ID which you will enter when setting up the new Mac.

I email the photo to my gmail account and then I download it to my computer and then resend it using another email account.
Unfortunately, I did not disable my location details before I took the phone. My mistakes.

When you take a phote these days, there is a lot of information imbedded in the photo file.
There are apps around for view & scrubbing photo files.

Then the bottom of the support document states that if you do not have access to the device (which unfortunately because of the screen issue you do not) to contact Apple Care. That is what you need to do.

Assuming you have something newer than a 3G:
Many users have lost photos while preforming a restore from backup or upgrading the iOS. Recall, only photos in the camera roll are backed up to iCloud. There is a way to turn backups for camera roll on/off, perhaps these users had camera roll turned off.

Settings>icloud>Storage & Backups>Manage Storage, tap the device's name and on the next screen, be sure Camera Roll is turned on.
You can turn on Notes on the mac to get to notes, or use a browser an log into icloud.com and go to the notes page.
IMPORTANT...
Photos should be regularly synced to a computer (like you store photos from a digital camera) using either USB via iTunes (on a mac use iPhoto or Aperture to move them to an album) or using photo stream. If you have been doing that, then you can sync those photos back to your device.
If you haven't been saving photos except relying on iCloud to store them in a backup, then that is risky, as many users have discovered. I'm afraid I have no advice in this case - there is no "cure".

Well i wouldn't see why your photo's, videos and music would trasnfer. As that is a android device, there is no way to have them transfer over the air to the iphone.
Contacts probably came from google. Your videos and such you would have to move them to PC then to the iphone. Same with your music.

Iphone 4 software update - wont sync photos and videos

i have recently updated my software on my iphone 3gs to the ios 4 version, and when i plugged in my phone, everything like music and apps synced, but my photos and videos did not transfer from my phone to my computer,
i tried taking the passcode off my phone, but it didnt help,
also when i go inot my pictures folder through my computer they used to be in seperate folders, split up as one folder got full another would appear, now they are all in one single folder called '800AAAAA'
is this normal? and how can i get my videos and photos onto my computer?

The photo's that were in the "camera roll" album on the iphone are not sync'ed. They are to be imported to your PC with whatever program you import photos from any camera. On my Dell, I use the built-in camera wizard on windows XP.
I am not sure if the camera roll is backed up with the official itunes "Backup" but I assume it is. So short of recovering an old backup, I do not know how to get the old camera roll photos back.
For the other albums, these photos are on your PC in the designated sync folder as per the itunes photo tab.

iTunes is not a photo management application so no photo are saved to iTunes.
By videos, do you mean videos from iTunes or videos created with the iPhone?
If from iTunes, they can be downloaded and played on any iOS device.
If videos created with the iPhone, they are not synced to PhotoStream.
Pictures taken with an iOS device are uploaded to and viewable in PhotoStream on any iOS device, Mac, or Apple TV using the same Apple ID.
It is not currently possible to view a PhotoStream for a different Apple ID, but this will be changing with iOS7.

Ive tried everything, followed steps, uninstalled itunes then reinstall. There is a yellow "! " on the apple mobile usb device driver in device manager and ive re installed that, start and stoped it... Nothing works. And i really need to get the IOS5 update for my phone.

im not sure this is related but on my mac my various iPhones would show up in a similar way if i had photos on the phone that needed to be imported to the mac - i dont know what application is used on a PC to import photos (and there may be a setting in iTunes to automatically import them when the iPhone is connected to the PC)
I know Dropbox offers to import photos every time i connect my Iphone to my mac - but if dismiss the offer iTunes comes up with the iPhone listed properly
but if you do have photos on the Iphone that have not yet been imported to the PC you might try importing them and see if that helps

Can I use a USB camera with the 3rd party USB camera software and share screens?

I want to do more than just use a USB camera w/iChat (or ichatusb). I also need to be able to initiate screen sharing between two computers. Specifically, I will use iChat with an insight built in camera on my end, and the other person will be using an iMac G5 PPC using a USB camera and the 3rd party USB software for USB ichat support.
My question then is am I able to request screen sharing (taking over their screen) from my ichat/fw combo to their ichatusb/usb combo?

Hi,
The Cameras don't come into this at all. (But iChat and OS versions do)
Each end needs iChat 4 or higher.
Go to the Video menu and Enable Screen Sharing (Selecting toggles a tick On and Off (Tick Present is ON) )
Highlight Buddy in list and use the Screen Sharing icon at the bottom of the list (interlinked rectangles).
The G5 could be on Leopard (iChat 4) and be using a USB 1.1 camera that would need iUSBCam (formerly iChatUSBCam) as well as the Camera manufacturers Software.
iChat 3 (In Tiger OS 10.4.x) on the G5 with a USB 1.1 camera, Software and iUSBCam may well offer a Screen Sharing option (Or rather Desktop as Video Feed) in the iChat > Video Menu and that will not work
However if the G5 has USB 2.0 ports (not the Keyboard additional ports) then if it is up to OS 10.4.9 it can use a UVC Camera for Video Chats (UVC = USB Video Class No need for Additional Drivers) but Screen Sharing will still be an issue due to the iChat version.
IF the G5 is still on OS 10.4.x then you will have to use a third Party VNC app at both ends (And run a iChat Audio Chat along side)
