IPhone 1/V1/1st generation locked with iTunes icon displayed
Hi everybody,I have a big problem,my father has a iPhone 1/V1/1st generation,he has never updated it or tried jailbreaking it,but this night I think that he tried to update with the latest version of iTunes (updated today),but he doesn't want to tell me what happened with his phone.
His iPhone 1/V1/1st generation is locked,I connected it to my desktop computer and opened iTunes,I turned off it,I hold for at least 10 seconds the home button and turn on button in order to restore it,the restauration was successful but it still display the iTunes button;I did it with and without SIM card but there is no change.
Could you help me to resolve this problem?
I live in France so I use french SIM card.

How do I completely remove this last piece of the 1.0 Updater for Windows, since re-installing does not work? I even cleaned the registry...
Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility:
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Now launch Windows Installer CleanUp ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"), find any entries called "ipod for windows \[date]" or "ipod updater \[date]" or just "ipod for windows" in the list of programs in CleanUp, select those entries, and click “remove”.
Quit out of CleanUp, and restart the PC.
Does an itunes install go through properly after that?

Can't sync 1st generation nano with iTunes 11
The upgrade to iTunes 11 happened today without my consent, and now I'm finding that when I plug in my 1st gen nano to be synced, I can't find the device anywhere in iTunes and the iPod never stops syncing. Is there a fix?
I love my 1st generation iPod nanos, and Apple doesn't offer anything with its form factor anymore (small, light, controls you can use without looking). Also 3rd gen and later nanos don't work with accessories that I depend on for my car and home (they won't charge). I recently bought my second 1st gen from Amazon (used). If my iPods stop working, I'll probably ditch iTunes and iPods altogether and switch to some other device/library/purchase ecosystem.Honestly, I probably would, except Apple doesn't make an iPod like the one I have anymore. The new nanos have touch screens, and when I asked at the Apple Store whether it's possible to work them without looking (like in the car), they told me that I should go on-line and buy an older, refurbished iPod nano. Which I did, just a couple months ago. And now it doesn't seem to work with iTunes anymore. (And then there's also the fact that I won't be able to play a new nano in my car, but that's a longer story.)
This is the price of buying into a closed ecosystem with few device choices, and this may be the last straw for me. Apple may think it's being smart by making money off unnecessary upgrades, or maybe in the cost/benefit analysis they decide it's not worth making their new software backward-compatible with their own devices. But I was a good Apple and iTunes customer, and if I manage to find an alternative to iTunes/iPod, they won't get me back.
Heck, if I can't find an alternative, maybe I'll do a start-up and build one. -

iTunes could not connect to the iPhone “Rasmus's iPhone” because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes. - Why is that?
iTunes is asking you to provide the passcode that was created when the device was activated.
You are able to get around the passcode if you know the apple id login and password and are able to restore the device back to default settings.

i forgot my password for my iphone 4s and i cant plus it into itunes it says "itunes could not connect to the Natalie's iPhone because it is locked with a passcode you msut enter your passcode on the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes"

Forget iPhone password, when connect to computer "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because it is locked with a pass code. You must enter pass code on the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."
You have to restore it using a computer with iTunes per the knowledge base article above.
With iOS 7, if you have Find My Phone turned on you can login to iCloud from a computer and send an erase signal to the iPhone to clear it...that will erase all content and settings. -
1st Generation Shuffle and iTunes
I have a 1st generation shuffle with the original itunes software loaded up on a windows PC. My roomate has a second generation shuffle with itunes 7.6.
Will my 1st generation shuffle operate using itunes 7.6 or should we have two separate versions of itunes on our computer?
Also, my 1st generation shuffle uses some USB-based headphones. At what point in the software saga will they stop working? Does anyone know?The original shuffle will work fine with any version of iTunes that came after it was introduced, including the current version 8.1.1.

What product is that? iTunes is always being updated, but the software on the 1st gen shuffle will probably not get updated anymore at this point. Each new version of iTunes will just install the same internal iPod software if you do a Restore. Therefore, any peripheral that works now will probably keep working. -
Am trying to sync my 3gs to itunes,keeps coming up with a notice saying! iphone in recovery mode. Must restore the iphone before it can be used with itunes.
Am really worried about doing this as the phone came with a note enclosed saying "Do NOT restore or update iphone software on itunes when asked to otherwise unlock will be lost"

Where, exactly did you get this phone? If it's already in a state where it says it must be restored, you don't have a choice. If the phone was hacked, it will be re-locked to the network it was originally locked to. ONLY the carrier it is locked to can legitimately authorize unlocking the phone. -
I have a Iphone 4, upgraded to ios 5 with itunes 10.5 Since doing upgarde to both Itunes and Iphone I am not able to add individual songs from my itunes library to my Iphone. I get a grey listing of the song and the sync symbo but it is not moving. Nothing appears on my phone screen. So not able to add music to my phone and its driving me nuts.....

During recovery on iPhone 4 I got : The iPhone could not be restored. Un unknown error occurred ( 3004 ). Then - iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes.Then I get error 3004 again. Latest iTunes and OS updates. I cant use the phone now. I did restart the destop,unplug the usb,...etc. Same iTune logo ,arrow and USB on the screen.THANK YOU SO MUCH,...!

when I power on it shows go itune logo starts. Then I tried to download restore and update it shows Tunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes. iphone could not be restored. Then an unknown error occuired(1604) shows.an unknown error occuired(1604). It also happened to me. What I did was to put my USB connector at the back of my PC (the main USB port) then I open my iTunes again and Viola, it solves my problem.
