IPhone 2G Bubbles under the screen

I have a 2G iPhone I purchused in January and I have three small spherical bubbles under the screen. I had a screen protector on and recently took it off and I noticed the bubbles. I have heard of people getting replacements but my real question is can I still get a 2G iPhone replacement from an apple store even though they only sell 3G iPhones now?

was this done in store? I am going to the Charlotte Apple store tonight or tomorrow night for this very purpose. thanks.

  • Bubble under the screen(original iPhone

I just noticed today that a bubble under the screen has appeared. At first I thought that it was on top of the screen so I try to clean it. My question is I bought it back in Feb 2008, checked the website and it is still under the limited warranty, does the warranty cover this? If so how do I get in contact with Apple to get this fixed?

Should still be covered under warranty. If you're near an Apple Store you can bring it in for repair/exchange. If you're not near one, you can call Apple Care and they'll send you a prepaid container in which to send it.

  • Iphone is broken under the screen

I dropped my iphone on a hard wood floor, and the screen was not shattered, but beneath the screen i saw cracks and the all of the colors became distorted. Can this be fixed, or do I have to buy a new iphone?

Sounds like your iPhone's LCD is damaged.
Apple offers an out of warranty or not covered under the warranty "repair" price, which pays for an exchange at a significantly reduced price from the full retail sales price for the iPhone, which is much more expensive than AT&T's fully subsidized price for the iPhone. This exchange price does not require signing a new two year contract. The cost is $199 plus tax.

  • Weird bubbles under the screen.

There are weird bubbles inside the glass of the screen,  it looks almost like a fingerprint on the glue holding the screen onto the glass... would this be somethig that I could get my Macbook Pro Display replaced for?

This seems to be an ongoing issue that we're trying to get Apple to resolve, it seems that some production batches have a bad AR coating that gradually comes off (and it'll get worse), have a look at this thread.  We're trying to get Apple to take notice of this issue

I finally took my device to the Apple Store today. Due to having dust beneath the screen, as well as the crack, it meant they replaced the whole unit, rather than just the screen, which they would have done in the event of just dust.
If anyone else has any issues, I'd highly recommend taking it to a Genius Bar. The staff were so helpful, and no questions were asked really.
    Well done Apple

I spilled milk on my IPhone - can see it running under the screen - what to do

There's nothing you can do about this other than live with it and hope that it doesn't damage the iPhone (likely that it will). If it does eventually fail, you'll need to take or send your iPhone to Apple and pay for a replacement.
    Regards.

MTS and Beeline provide all service for the iPhone in Russia. Take your phone to them and see. They will have to evaluate it.

  • IPhone - Dust under the screen; Anyone else?

After just a few hours in my pocket, I have my first speck of dust under the screen. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?
After some inspection, I noticed there is a very small gap between the metal case and the headphone jack which is especially visible when the backlight is on (I can see light from the backlight).

    Hey Luc Lux,
Do you have a screen protector on the iPhone? If you do try removing it and cleaning the screen.
If there isn't anything covering the screen, make a reservation to have a Genius at a local Apple retail store take a look at it or call AppleCare.

  • IPhone 6 dust behind the screen even with protection

    Good evening,
Only 10 days after I bought my new iPhone 6 - Gray space - 16 GB, with a tempered glass protection (perfectly set, no bubbles, no dust between the tempered glass protection and the iPhone screen), plus a plastic cover around the phone, I realised, this afternoon that a particle of dust appeared all of a sudden on the middle of the screen, about 5mm long... impossible to remove....
As it can not appear between the tempered protection and the screen after 10 days (in my opinion), I can imagine that it is below the iPhone 6 screen, and it seems like it already happen to other iPhone 6 users...
Any tips to remove this dust ?
    Thanks a lot!

    Thanks for the help...
How to properly remove the protection without making any damages to the phone? Cause this is a new protection and the glue must be very sticky to the screen...
How to know the area of warranty ?  As I am travelling a lot, it is very difficult for me to return to the store where I bought my iPhone 6... But the phone seller told me that the warranty was by zone (here is south east asia), and it depends on a number behind the phone... Is that true? Will they change the phone directly if the dust is under the screen, or will I have to wait few days before picking up my new phone?
    Thank you

  • Will I get a replacement for dust under the screen?...

    Hey everyone!
I've had an iPhone since the 3G came out and I've never had any problems with dust. My 3G got replaced by 02 insurance about 5 months ago and I got a new 3GS 16GB. Since then I noticed the odd little bit of dust appearing under the screen. Most of the time I couldn't see it so I didn't really care but now I've noticed a few larger pieces and they're really annoying.
I understand that I should get a 12 month warranty with this and surely it's not meant to happen so I'd expect a replacement. I've searched around and I seem to get mixed answers. The problem is that I'm currently working in Cologne and there are only 3 Apple Stores in Germany (I can't believe it!) and the nearest one is still over 100 miles away.
What do you recommend? Would Apple do anything like post one (I doubt it?) or am I going to just have to wait until I'm near Frankfurt (or even back in London) and book an appointment there. Even then... what are my chances of getting a replacement?
Thanks in advance everyone! Much appreciated

I doubt they will give you a replacement. I know here in the States you can take your iphone to an Apple store and they can replace the screen and charge you $200 for that. But I find it hard to believe they would replace the screen for free just because there are dust particles under the glass. That's just my opinion.

  • Dust under the screen....

Does anyone know if you can have apple remove the dust under the screen if you are under warranty? Like will they service the iphone for that? And if they do, do you know if they will completely replace the iphone, or will they just remove the screen and fix it?
    Thanks

Roaminggnome is right, it's a case by case basis, but as long as you have not abused the phone, it's more than likely you can get a replacement, but don't quote me on that. They will replace the phone if they decide to--they don't do cosmetic work. So, what I'm saying simply is--maybe, maybe not--make an appointment with a Genius at an Apple Store to see. If they will, they'll give you another iPhone.

  • Dust Under the Screen and Case Cracks

    Hey guys,
I am the proud owner of an iPhone 3G S, and love the thing to pieces. I've had it for 8 months now, however over the past few weeks, I have become slightly disappointed with it.
Firstly, a small crack appeared above the 'Silent On/Off' switch, which I don't understand how it appeared as the phone has never been dropped or bumped. It's only very tiny, but I'm a perfectionist and not particularly happy about the fact it has appeared by itself. I treat my phone like royalty.
Then today, I realised a tiny white fleck on the screen when running an app. At first, I thought it might have been a dead pixel, but it turns out that it's a fleck of dust under the screen. How did it get there?! And it's not the only fleck either. When I turned the screen off, there appears to be at least 3 or 4 tiny flecks. They aren't obtrusive to the screen, but annoy me as, like I said before, I'm a perfectionist.
Am I still within warranty at 8 months? And if I am, would Apple replace my iPhone if I was to return it? It was purchased from O2, so would I return it to them, or Apple directly?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I finally took my device to the Apple Store today. Due to having dust beneath the screen, as well as the crack, it meant they replaced the whole unit, rather than just the screen, which they would have done in the event of just dust.

  • Newton ring under the screen

Hi, I notice that under the LCD screen of my iphone, there are a few newton rings circling around each other. at first I thought this is from the screen protector (between the protector and the screen), but i took off the protector and realized it is under the screen. The surface of the screen looks fine to me, since it has been protected since I bought it....
Have anyone had the same problem? Do you guys think Apple will take care of this?? Thanks.

My iphone gets backed up every time I dock it to my mac. (At least that is what iTunes says anyway).
When I got the replacement phone, the genius at the Apple store swapped out my sim card from my old phone over to the replacement one and it automatically activated itself.
When I got home and connected it, I was prompted with a question if this was a "new" iphone or a "replacement". I chose replacement and it automatically did a resync and all my data was put back.
    Good Luck.
