Iphone 2g stuck at slide to unlock
My iphone 2G is stuck at the initial "slide to unlock" screen. The screen looks normal, but is dim and shows that it is in airplane mode. I have used itunes to restore the phone, and done a few hard resets, but still cannot get to the passcode screen. When I swipe my finger on the slide to unlock, nothing happens. The slide to turn off does work.
Did you restart the phone like this?
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If you tried that and the problem continues and is repeatable have an Apple technician take a look at your phone. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

Restore the phone from backup. If this does not work, restore the Phone as a new device not using backup at all.

iPhone 4 won't slide to unlock . I tried everything possible and even got my phone replaced fora new one costing me 10,282 Rupees . The new phone is again having the same problem even without adding any apps or taking data backup
Yeah, first my thought was also that... that's why I've gone to Apple and they already switched the phone twice!!!
Last time was yesterday... I posted this here because I came from Apple and with a new iPhone 5, although I didn't restore anything from iCloud, I hadn't even logged in to iCloud / AppStore, and without any event on the lockscreen my iPhone 5 was already "locked" on the unlock screen... after a mere 45m after I used it without a single App!! Just a couple of SMS / 1 or 2 calls... I'm going to Apple again on monday, but tried to post here to see if this has happened before to anyone with 3 new iPhones!!! -
Iphone 3gs stucked on slide to emergency lock screen
i updated my iphone 3gs 4.1 to 5.1.1 but it stucked on recovery mode then i restored it from itunes(itunes said that it will update iphone to latest version but it updated it to ios 4.3.5)however to when it completed the restore my iphone starts and stuck on lockscreen and instead of "slide to unlock""slide to emergency" is written and itunes logo and usb cord is also on lockscreen and in tunes it was written that "the sim card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be suppoted"please tell me what can i do
Same problem is occuring here.
When powered on and slid to unlock phone will work fine (if the phone is not unlocked immediately and the screen is allowed to turn off before unlocking, step 2 happens immediately).
If the phone is allowed to lock itself and I try to unlock it will "freeze" with the slider all the way to the right.
It remains at this screen for around 2 minutes until the screen goes black and the loader image displays in the middle of the screen (the same display as if you switch the phone entirely off by holding down the power button)
The phone remains here for around 30 - 60 seconds and then will reboot.
Go back to number 1.
Any help on this would be appreciated. -
IPhone 16GB stucks and does not unlock...
I have got an iPhone 16GB for four months now. At the first time the phone worked fine but suddenly after 2 months of use this problem started to appear. My iPhone's slider stucks (does not move) when you want to unlock it regardless if you push the home button or the power button on top. When you push each of them the screen turns on but the slider does not move to unlock the phone.Even worse the same happens when someone calls in, so you cannot answer any call!Afterwards,when I try to unlock it 2-3 times, unlocks but its late then and I have to call back the person who called me. I have upgraded to the latest 2.0.1 firmware edition using iTunes upgrade option but the same thing happens and the phone now seems to work slower than before and also, when you scroll the screen (eg. in Contacts) does not scroll smoothly. In all other respects the phone works flawlessly but this problem makes it almost unuseable and its very irritating. I am forced at the moment to use it with its included cable hands-free to accept calls.Is there any solution to this problem or I have to bring it to Apple service in case is faulty?
Probably that is what I will do. However, how can you explain that the screen works normally when you unlock the phone and gets stucked when it is locked? Moreover, do you know if there is any way to downgrade the firmware to 1.1.4?this may help solve the problem

My new Iphone 4 will not SLIDE TO UNLOCK. Worked when i left the store yesterday not this morning.
I can't get in to the phone. Bought it yesterday at the ATT store, worked, went home loaded apps and what not, worked, played a game, worked. Slept alarm worked in the morning, used Stitcher app on the way to work. at work at about 8 am would not unlock.

When i try to power off the slide to turn off does not work either.Try restarting your iPhone by holding down the on/off and the home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo.

My iPhone 5c will not slide to unlock.
I have tried a hard reset and still nothing. I have it connected to my iMac to try to restore it but it won't let me do that until I turn off "find my iPhone" which I can't do because I can't unlock it!
Start with a reset. Hold down the Wake/Sleep and Home buttons until you see the Apple Logo.
If that doesn't help you might need to do a Restore from your backup. -
IPhone 6 stuck in landscape after unlock
Most of the time when I unlock my phone, the open app is in landscape mode. It will not switch to portrait unless I rotate the phone 90 degrees to landscape and then back to portrait. This is extremely annoying on apps that have very discrepant functions in portrait vs landscape, such as Music. The problem was there when I first got the phone in October. It persisted until December, when there was an update that addressed this and similar issues. However, the issue has come back over the past couple weeks.
It is really annoying, especially with one handed use. The weird thing is, I can go to the home screen and switch to another app, and that app will be in portrait mode! It's only if there is an active app when the phone locks, so that unlocking would unlock into an app, not the home screen. So that makes me thing it is a software issue and not hardware. It only seems to happen if the phone is rotated or laid flat while locked. It doesn't happen if the phone was held in portrait between unlocks.
Thank youthat worked until today, so 5 days of success. I think ill just try portrait lock until I need landscape. I guess that's kinda what it's there for
appreciate the help though
if anyone thinks of a more permanent solution, would appreciate that as well

Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

Have you tried a reset to see if it works after the phone has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

my iphone 3g will not slide to unlock, i can slide to power off? its updated to latest software but still the same, i cant answer calls or any functions at all other than slide to power off, any ideas? thanks in advance.
Just had this happen today, was working last night, this morning the touch screen is not responding at all. Tried to do an apple logo reset and it just started clicking like a camera taking a picture. Done a full factory restore and still no touch screen functionality. Going crazy without my ipod, somebody please help me !!

Iphone 4 is stuck. I have tried a master reset and it didn't work. it won't slide to unlock or power off. I did somehow get to the passcode screen but it didn't let me enter anything. I have also tried on a pc through itunes but since I can't unlock it, it won't let me do that either.

IPhone 4 stuck, can't slide to unlock!
I'm having a problem several times a day now, where when I get a call in from a sleeping phone and I try to slide to unlock/pick up the call, it won't do it. All I can do is wait for the call to go to voicemail and then I can unlock it and everything from there seems to work fine. Once I couldn't end a call, i had to wait for the other person to hang up to disconnect.
Is it a proximity sensor problem? Or is it just a bad phone. I'm still within my 30 days, not sure if I should return it for a new one.Having the same problem, here is what i have done chronologically to no avail-
1. Restored the phone to factory condition, reinstalled from backup.
2. Restored the phone to factory condition, started over as a new phone.
3. Genius bar- found nothing wrong with phone but replaced with a brand new phone.
4. New phone- restored from backup.
5. New phone- restored to factory then start over as a new phone.
Problem STILL occuring!!!!!
PS- No screen protector being used -
