Iphone 2g that will not be recognized or charged by my PC or iTunes
THIS IS A 2G PHONE, the original iPhone . I have a Dell XPS just a few months old operating on Windows 7. When I first bought the computer and installed iTunes my phone would connect just fine. Now when I plug in my phone via the USB cable the phone is not recognized by Windows or iTunes at all. I am still using the same cable. There is no sound when the cord is plugged in, nothing is recognized in device manager, and it will not charge. I have spend the last 5 hours searching fixes for this and have reinstalled iTunes twice after following all the proper steps for full removal (the only step I could never complete was uninstalling QuickTime, because it did not populate in the program list). The USB ports work fine with other devices and I have no photographs from sources other than screenshots or actual photos taken by the phone. I have made sure phone was fully charged and have looked pretty deeply into this problem with no solutions. I have noticed in Device Manager that I do not see any Apple items under the Universal Serial Bus Controllers tab (but this may be because the phone is not recognized). I'm at a loss and want to smash my phone right now. Any ideas?
You need to either Update it on a PC or use disk utility to erase it (use HFS+ format) and then Restore it on your Powerbook.

Are you restoring your phone from a previous back up? If so there could be a problem within the back up. Try restoring your phone as a new device and then manualy reinstall all apps.

I also got a response from Apple who said that there was a problem related to fonts and the encryption.xml file
Once we'd removed this we were able to upload the epub no problem.
It's odd that the system seems to say that all is okay when it isn't. We have to rely on guesswork rather a lot using iBook Producer.
Anyway, all sorted now and thank you again for your contribution.

I have an iPad mini that will not respond and is non functional. It continues to intermittently try to automatically restart, access home page without success. It will not accept normal charge. I have tried to manually restart, reset and have been unsuccessful. It will not allow a Recover attempt via iTunes as well. Do you have any suggestions before I consider a replacement? Thanks.

How to fix my iPhone keys that will not work
When I am using my iphone keyboard, the upper row Q thru P will not work. That is in verticle mode, when laid horizontally, the R will not work.
On the number keys, the 4 will not work. The comma key also does not work.
I was told that a software restore could cure this. Also, I tried to load the new version 7 software, hoping this might help. But the Accept option would not work when accepting the TERMS from Apple. It seems that only works in verticle so that whole row/area does not work.RESET DEVICE
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost). -

My ipod touch 4th generation randomly turned off and will not turn back on or charge. I have tried restarting it, resetting it, and letting it "charge" for weeks but nothing has worked. It is not registered by itunes when plugged into the computer either and there hasn't been anything dramatically done to it. I also cannot do anything to update its software since it isn't being recognized by itunes or turning on.

I have a white iPhone 4s and since a few days ago, I have not been able to access anything on my phone via my laptop. I have tired everything it says on the support pages but still nothing. I cannot get my ipod touch or iphone to be recognized by Itunes on my mac mini. Only when i download itunes each time afresh, will it show up the first time. Then these devices will not be recognized subsequently. Is it because i am not uninstalling itunes before I download it? Surely this is a basic thing, ie that my devices need to recognize each other?

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

The unlocked IPhone 4S models will not be available until November, Why is that? Why would Apple do that? I should be able to buy a factory unlocked Apple iPhone 4S when it comes out! I travel all over the world, and so that is why I need one like that. It is unfair to the consumer, and frankly turning away customers like myself willing to pay high dollar to Apple for their product, who can I speak with to complain about this, because I know their are factory unlocked iPhone 4S' sitting in a warehouse somewhere just waiting to be shipped, and I want one. I know why, cause Apple signed contracts with each carrier so the carrier could increase their sales making customers sign 2 year contracts, I get it, I own my own business, but the delay of releasing factory unlocked ones is just not right and I should be able to buy one without having to buy it over in the UK where it is unlocked when it comes out right away, I should be able to buy it in my own country! These business practices we practice in the US need to stop, their is a demand that needs to be met with consumers like myself who don't need subsidized iPhone's with 2 year contracts with carriers and don't mine paying full price for an unlocked one, it is unethical in a sense, forcing the customer to buy it with a carrier contract and NOT giving the customer the option to buy it full price and own it themselves, OR, making the consumer wait a month for that option to be available. THEY SHOULD BE RELEASED AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!! THAT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO!!!!!!

But making me wait a month for an unlocked one, puts AT&T, Sprint & Verizon's interests before mine, and that is not right, for it is MY money that keeps you guys in business, so my best interests should come first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I understand your frustration, but when any form of rationing is required you have to prioritise. The number of unlocked vs packaged phones will be quite small and the number of unlocked buyers wishing to upgrade immediately will be smaller still. Against this you have the corporations sharing $billions between them.

You should be able to copy it from your iPhone to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, and if it's compatible with your iPad you can then sync it to it

I'd start off your troubleshooting process by deleting and redownloading the songs:
If iTunes in the Cloud is available in your country, try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Delete the purchased song that is exhibiting the problem from your iTunes library.
Click on the Purchased link in the iTunes Store to view your previously purchased music.
Download your previously purchased song from this list.

To update iTunes and sync an iPhone you need to be running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on an Intel Mac.
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
