IPhone 2G touch sensitivity offset

Hey folks,
I have an old iPhone 2G running iOS 3.1.3, wich I am using for developements and
tests.
It suddently started to lose touch sensitivity on an horizontal strip at the bottom, but then it started to gain touch sensitivity on a horizontal strip at the top above the screen border. Both strips are abouth the same height, so I am suspecting that my iphone touch sensitivity is kind of offset off its normal position.
Has anyone experienced this problem?
I already tried to restore, hard reset, jailbreak, shake, heat, etc.
Can it be solved using a path / bootloader / downdgrade or another software workaround? I cant take my iphone to the app store, genius bar or whatever, because I am hundreds of kilometer far away from one :-)
Any help will be apretieted.

Error 26 is a hardware failure. Apple does not "fix" iphones(except for screen replacement & battery replacement). If your phone is under warranty & Apple determines the failure is covered by said warranty, it will be replaced. If your phone is not under warranty, you will have to find a third party repair facility. Note: warranty & service for iphones is only provided in the country the phone was originally purchased in from an official supplier.

  • Only bottom half of iphone is touch sensitive...

I dont know what just happened but only the bottom portion of the touchscreen on my iphone is now touch sensitive.. I'm hoping turning it off and then on will somehow magically solve the problem..Is there anyway I can turn off the phone without sliding it off?

Yes you can reset the iPhone
    follow the below video

if this doesnt help do a full restore from within iTunes
_+Note: A full Restore will delete all media and data. All settings will be reset as well. If possible, sync iPhone with iTunes before restoring to back up your most recent settings.+_

  • IPhone 6 touch sensitivity problem near edges of screen

I'm wondering if others are experiencing the problem I'm having with the sensitivity of the touch screen near the edges of the screen.
Often times I have the press harder or multiple times on buttons near the edges of the screen. When typing on the keyboard, it will often miss my first attempts at pressing the letters "A", "Z", "123", "L", etc. When using the calculator, I often have to press the "+" or "1" two or more times before it recognizes the press. All of these letters are near the edges of the screen. I tried typing on my wife's iPhone 6 Plus and do not have the same problem.
Do I have a faulty touchscreen, or is this a common problem?

After much troubleshooting and a phone replacement (for an issue with the home button too), the problem appears to be software related. On my replacement phone the problem continued when I restored from an iTunes or iCloud backup. But when I set up the phone as a new device then manually entered my 10 email accounts, re-downloaded my 100+ apps, set all my customizations, etc. - the touch screen works fine. I've even backed up and restored the new setup and old setup several times to confirm this.
All I can think of is there's likely screen size setting that's carried over from the iPhone 5 backup, that's mis-matched on the larger screen on the iPhone 6.
I wish Apple would involve me in beta testing their new software/devices and I could help them figure this stuff out, and save myself and other from countless hours of setting up their phone again. A selective restore would be nice (accounts and apps, but not settings).

  • Re: after update 4.3.5 i am facing touch sensitivity problem the iphone 4 is acting funnily... corner of the screen is not responding at all  i cant use any apps, letters, numbers at the corner of the screen

Recently i have updated my iphone 4 to latest 4.3.5 update using itunes... from the time i have updated... i am facing problems... like touch sensitivity... like cant attend the call at one swipe... cant use any applications at the corner of the screen... some times i touch message icon... it moves to next page... some times in the applications without touching the screen in the app the features get activated...    is it the problem with the software update or my iphone is having any problem with screen...
please let me know what should i do...

Do the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide, Appendix B:
    Restart phone
    Reset phone
Restore in iTunes using a backup
Restore as a new iPhone, without using a backup.
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iPhone_iOS4_User_Guide.pdf
    Also, remove any screen protector.
If none of the above works, there is a hardware problem that needs evaluation by Apple or whoever provides iPhone warranty service in your country.

  • Touch sensitivity on iPhone 5. #someone please help me

Do you guys have any problem with your iPhone 5 touch calibration/sensitivity when it reached between 90%-100% while charging?? Because my iPhone has that such problem. When I'm using my iPhone 5 while it is in charging state between 90%-100%, the touch callibration seems to have some problems. For example, when I am typing message or email, most of the times it will go back or return to home folder by itself although I do not touch the back button.
**Can someone helps me to solve this problem? Or do I need to contact Apple Customer Service?**
    ###Thank you guys! ###

  • Can the touch sensitivity on iPhone 3GS be reduced?

Does anyone, apart from Apple, know if the touch sensitivity on the iPhone 3GS can be reduced?   If so, how?

    No

  • IPhone screen touch sensors cancelled out over gallery when accordion w/ menu embedded extends over

iPhone 4s screen touch sensors are cancelled out over a gallery when an accordion w/ a menu embedded in it extends over the area.  Upon FTP uploading the site, when I load each page from my iPhone the menu extends and then retracts.  The area over which the accordian panel with the menu in it extends loses the touch sensitivity.  I learned this when I had a gallery at the top of the page.  Swiping left or right only continues to work bellow where the accordian extended to before retracting.  And although activating the "Light box" works, the light box itself becomes an empty spot on the screen because it's invisible from my phone.  Either I can place the Light box at the top of the screen under the banner and menu or at the bottom.  Either way, it looks like a blank spot from my phone.
    Please fix these features.
    Thank you.

After almost 2 days of ICS, here's another update:
    CONS:
No notification on lockscreen. The heck important is that.
Calendar widget not even showing the next event.
Lag on Facebook, or even other social media apps while typing something.
SYSTEM UI IS NOT RESPONDING. I almost gone in that moment, where I did a quick Settings Reset after reboot. This is a major con, Sony.
Swiping up and down with many items is now unresponsive, sometimes stopping quickly at a certain point.
    PROS:
Bloatwares can now be disabled, or even uninstalled in Apps Settings. I tried to remove What's App, appXtra, and UEFA.com bloatwares, and now it's gone. Let's Golf HD can now be disabled.

My iphone 2G fell down & after that the bottom portion of the screeen is NOT touch sensitive. While in dile pad, i can make call, dial nos, etc but cannot goto contacts & all list on the one last row.
I gave the phone for repair to an apple reseller at first they asked me to replace the screen which costs $200. Later they told its a hardware error (26) something related to motherboard.
Home button, call, safari, ipod etc is working. In ipod everything is perfect. In call & safari, the bottom portion (last 1 row) is not responding to touch.
For the past one week its with the reseller and couldnt fix it. Could you guys plz help!!!

  • Loss of touch sensitivity ?

My 3GS screen has lost much of it's touch sensitivity (it just doesn't respond) and I miss 50% of my calls because I can't swipe it on. Texting is just about impossible. Inconstantly clean the screen. Has anyone seen this and if so have a solution?

I think they make pills for that?
But seriously, the basic troubleshooting articles say make sure you're not wearing gloves, make sure you don't have a cover. Cleaning the screen shouldn't make the glass iphone screen not sense.  Do you have poor circulation? I have heard of that having an effect, strangely.  Other than that, you still in your HW warranty?

  • Apple Unveils All-New iTunes U App for iPad, iPhone & iPod touch

A colleague just told me about this announcement from Apple -
Apple Unveils All-New iTunes U App for iPad, iPhone & iPod touch -
    http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2012/01/19Apple-Unveils-All-New-iTunes-U-App-for -iPad-iPhone-iPod-touch.html
Do any fellow iTunes U administrators know anything about this? How is existing content presented in the new app? Would we need to change anything? How do we access / make available the new features?
The new features sound fantastic but it would have been nice to have some warning. I appreciate that Apple has to keep specific details about developments confidential but it's slightly disconcerting that iTunes U administrators were not forewarned about this new development and that there has been no mention of it on this forum. Also - and at the risk of sounding like a broken record - it really would be helpful for iTunes U administrators to have a private forum (perhaps an add-on to Public Site Manager) where we could discuss issues and share ideas and best practice etc.

    Greetings Tom;
I watched the Apple's Keynote presentation and I'm amazed!  I'm really excited about the possibilities this opens up for educators.  I, like you am still processing all of the information and sorting out the possibilities.
Did you get the email about the Webcast on Wednesday the 25th at 10:00 AM PT that's going to cover the new iTunes U Corse Manager and how to publish through iTunes U Site Manager?  Hopefully this is available to you in the UK.  We'll keep in touch.  All the best...

  • My iphone 5 touch screen seems to have a mind of its own. Please help

My iphone 5 touch screen seems to have a mind of it's own. Whilst I am trying to type a text message it will quite often whilst i'm tapping on letters, typr different letters, or open up the edit messages to select and delete messages.
The screen can quite often take up to 5 attempts to use the home button when the phone it locked to bring up the swipe to unlock, and even then sometimes it will take 4 or more attempts to swpie to unlock.
Most recently I was on FB chatting and whilst typing, the letters were all coming out completely wrong, and then it was taking me into completely different screens, screens that whilst i'm tapping letters at the bottom on the screen, i'd have to ne touching a button at the top of the screem to actualy get into - yet my phone is doing it on it's own.
It has even whilst sittig next to me on the bed, scrolled from my "home page" to the next page over ???
i have spoken to Telstra who suggested a network restore, this did nothing. They suggested doing a back up, the a complete restore, which I am hesistant in doing as I have a fear of losing everything on my phone esxpecially my contacts, despite having done a back up.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Restart your iPhone...
Hold down the sleep / wake button until you see the red slider then swipe to power off. Then hold down the sleep / wake button until you see the Apple logo.
Try the keyboard. If that doesn't help, try force quitting the app you are using when the keyboard becomes unusable.
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until a red slider appears, then press and hold the Home button until the app quits.

    Yes.
You can authorize up to 5 computers to play itunes music ( pre-itunes plus).  There is no limit on itunes plus ( all itunes music for the past several years) and imported music.
You can sync as many ipods/ipads/iphones as you like to each of your computers.

  • How many Multi-Touch points can an iPhone/iPod touch have at the same time?

How many Multi-Touch points can an iPhone/iPod touch/iPad have at the same time?
I am curious as IIRC (but forgot where the article is on the Internet),
if a touch surface is wanted to be able to detect more than 1 touch point at the same time,
then that touch surface needs adding 1 more conductive(?) layer.
    (e.g. 2 points -> 2 layers, and so on)
So I wonder how many these layers are on the iPhone / iPod touch / iPad or even the trackpad on every MacBook (Pro).
    (correct me if I'm wrong)
    Just curious, thanks in advance!

I believe it can only support 2. This article explains how the touch screen works but doesn't explicitly say how many points is supports.
