IPhone 3.0 backup just hangs
I have successfully installed the new iPhone 3.0 software on my original iPhone 2G. But when I go to put my iPhone in its cradle, it tries to do a backup of the iPhone, but the backup just hangs. I have to cancel the backup, and then it syncs everything else it needs to with no problems. I have a late model Power Mac G5 with USB 2.0, so it shouldn't take this long to backup, and it took no time at all before the 3.0 update. Any help/suggestions? Anyone else experiencing this trouble?
This EXACT thing happend to me, I tried up to 5 times and the "backing up" process is just a little over 50% done and it just hangs for hours at a time.
SOLUTION:
I read a suggestion to erase the ESPN ScoreCenter app and Facebook app first, for some reason these two apps are causing problems, I tried that, unsuccessful.
In a last ditch attempt I erased ALL my apps except the Tiger Woods golf game, (I was scared that I had to buy it again $9.99!!!!) THIS WORKED!!!!!!! The backup process literally took 5 minutes!!!! Please try this!!! ERASE ALL YOUR APPS FIRST!!!!

IPhone 4 won't connect when trying to dial out, just hangs and hangs at "connecting"
iPhone 4 running 4.3.3 on AT&T network.
For some reason, I can only make one outgoing call at a time on my phone without having to power it off and reboot it. When I go to make a call, it will just hang at "connecting" -- I don't even get a "Call failed" or "can't connect". If I power off and reboot, and I can make a call, but just ONE. The next one I try is the same thing. Really annoying!
Has anyone had this problem? Is it a software or carrier issue? I've resent the network settings and that didn't help.

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

You can find the backup files and then copy them to a safe place if you are worrying about this.
iTunes places the backup files in these places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your Home folder, hold Option and click the Go menu.
Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata%, then press Return.
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

I want to restore my iPhone to the backup that I did just before upgrading to iOS6. When I try to pull up old backups, I only see one from this morning and an old one from May 2012 when I still had my iPhone 3GS. I have not been using iCloud since it was set up improperly when I first switched to the 4S, the contacts weren't being synced AT ALL. visited the genius bar, they said I need a whole other appointment to visit them and solve that, I haven't had a chance to do that yet. Thus, I am backing up to iTunes.
This morning's sync/backup resulted in me losing most of my contacts, and for the contacts that remain, 99% of the phone numbers are gone. I can recover my calendar entries from this past week, but I don't know how I can recover all of them from my May 2012 backup.
Since I had a backup just last week, I'd like to just go back to it. But how? Or, is there another way to get my contacts restored? And why did they disappear? When I go to Settings iCloud on my iPhone 5s I am prompted to agree to the latest terms and conditions. When I press agree the phone just hangs and I cannot agree to the latest terms and conditions. I just restored my iPhone from a backup, and 17 apps couldn't be restored because "the app could not be found." But they're sitting right there in iTunes under Apps. What's up with that?

I'm going through the exact same problem. I plugged in last night. Updated and when it came down to restoring it gave me the same message. Corrupt or not compatible.

Did you ever figure this out? I followed these instructions and it worked! May have had something to do with the old MobileMe program becoming obsolete. After you click "Finder", then "Go", then hold down "option" button, then click "library" folder, then follow folders as listed. I also deleted the MobileMeSyncClient folder (found in the same location) since it is no longer in use either.

You need to delete the MobilSync backup folder. I have a Mac. Went to /Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup and deleted the Backup folder.
to find your "library" folder you need to open "finder" then go to the top tool bar menu and open "go" then hold down the "option" button and "library will appear in the "finder " menu on the left hand side... cheers -
My iPad can see my network but just hangs when trying to connect? I've reset the settings and all sorts? My iPhone can connect fine? Any advise would be great!
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Just after updating Draw with Friends, my iPhone got the "Panic, just haning here" message. I tried to reset it and it got stuck on the screen with the usb connect to iTunes. When I connected to iTunes on my Mac, it kept giving an error message that the phone connected could not be restored because it was in recovery mode, recover then connect. The phone wouldn't recover... I finally got it to connect to iTunes by holding down the home and power buttons, connecting to computer and then let the power button off as soon as the apple appeared. It took all night to download the restore for the phone, then when I hit the restore iPhone button, it gets half way done and gives the message" The iPhone could not be restored. I cannot Sync or backup my iPhone in any PC at all.
Itunes will forver stuck in Backing up....... or Waiting to sync....... if I manage to enter iPhone on itunes.

I have tried Uninstall everything. Including bonjour, apple mobile device support .. .etc.. everything that links with itunes I uninstall (Did a reboot and reinstall).
Photos can be transfer and open from the iphone though My Computer.
Any of you guys encounter such problem before?

Oh btw I dont have any songs or video under MUSIC/Video app only Custom ringtones i made myself.
Because I read lots of threads saying that *UPDATING FILES* is due to music. But I don't have songs in MUSIC folder. Never once download since I use Iphone 3GS only using other App store app to download music.same situation since updating to IOS 7

The problem is that all services are bundled with your Apple ID ([email protected]):
Your iCloud account (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, Backups, etc.),
also iTunes & App Store purchases (Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.),
and the iTunes Match services.
(I guess that all your devices - yours and your wife's are connected to one iTunes library, right?)
If you want that your wife gets her own iCloud account for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc. but gets also access to your media then you have two set up two things on her device:
iCloud (Settings > iCloud) with her account (e.g. [email protected])
and
iTunes & App Stores (Settings > iTunes & App Stores) with your account (e.g. [email protected]).
In this case she gets access to your library and could use the same iTunes Match account.
