Iphone 3.0 reminder feature?

does anyone know if the iphone 3.0 software will include a reminder feature for missed calls or text messages. i recently purchased an iphone and am missing a ton of calls and text messages. due to my work environment i must have my phone set to vibrate most of the time.
if i miss a call or text message i'd love to have a reminder set for a fixed time interval. my old phone had one and i find it hard to believe that apple hasn't incorporated this into the iphone's software.

I've already suggested this to apple.. I guess they haven't included it thus far because of they seem to frown on background tasks.
The current iPhone software will alert once 5 minutes after a missed call/text, and then again 15 minutes later. I'd rather have a periodic alert every 10 minutes..

No, not even your phone will give you a missed call sound. It just shows a red number in the top right corner of the phone app if you have a missed call/voicemail. If you open the phone app and see who called, that number will disappear. So if you want to be reminded to call that person later, then you need to create a reminder in your reminder app to remind you at a specific day/time to call them back. Hopefully that all makes sense.

The SDk doesn't deal with BlueTooth or USB. Your only option is wireless data. (WiFi, 3G, etc)

Although it isn't normally possible to sync an iPod/iPad/iPhone with two computers (or manually manage an iPhone from more than one) it can be achieved if all computers have copies of the self same library. See Re: how do i sync on a second laptop without the data on my iPhone 5 being erased?

Apart from the "text tone" that you can select from SETTINGS - SOUNDS, you can also customize the reminder/notification in SETTINGS - NOTIFICATIONS - MESSAGES
You can choose the alert style; number of times it would alert you (Max 10 times) and select to view the message in locked screen.

When did it break? What did you change?
The reminder is sent as a notification email for some user,
let say i sent reminder to user : [email protected],[email protected]
Have you verified that Calendar Server is pointing to a valid MTA and that the alarm emails aren't being rejected?
The MTA should no reminder email also, but notfication invite accept cancel notification is showing

i hear something about 1.1.4 coming out next couple weeks that true ???

The release of the SDK is scheduled sometime this month. That will allow developers to design software for the phones. After approval from Apple, they would be made available, probably through iTunes.
No one here would know about a release of 1.1.4, or if the next update will even be called 1.1.4. That is up to Apple and they don't release that information early.

My IPhone 4's mailing feature does not display the toolbar at the bottom for deleting, moving, or writing emails. What is wrong with it?

My work recently decided to buy every full time employee an IPhone 4 to be used for work purposes. (I do suspect these are refurbished, but I don't think that matters) I have had no trouble with it, except for on occasion the mailing feature does not display the toolbar at the bottom for deleting, moving, or writing emails. You know what I'm talking about...that bar at the bottom of the mailbox when you open an email that you use to delete, respond, forward, move, etc. It just goes away for no reason, and then reappears for a day or two, and goes away again. It is quite annoying since I can't respond to any of my emails without getting on my work computer. If you have any suggestions, please help!

You may need to force close the Mail application when this happens. The next time this happens, use the steps in the article below to coles out of the mail application.

Problem - Alerts on iPhone when event/reminder is created in iCal

Preamble:
MBP 2011 (early) on latest update of Lion
Subscription to iCloud (recently updated from MobileMe)
iPhone4 iOS5
Here's the scenario:
I create an event or reminder in iCal (on MBP) and set the alert settings to 'message' or 'message with sound' and select an appropriate date and time. The 'calendar' is set to iCloud>Home (in order to ensure it syncs with iPhone). Date and time come along and, so long as the MBP is turned on, the alert pops up on the screen - no problem.
Go over to iPhone - no alert pops up at the appropriate time. Open Cal and/or Reminders and there the event is, event also appears in the Notification Centre.
Problem:
Why does the iPhone not alert me of events that are generated in this way? If I create the event on the iPhone itself then it does alert me with no problem.
Workaround:
Set the original event alert to email and you get an email on the iPhone alerting you - however this is a little clunky and not the slick workflow that one might expect from apple.
Question:
Is there a solution to this?
P.S. Apologies if this is a double post, I have hunted round for an answer and there are a few threads of this nature but none of them were quite on the money.

i also should've mentioned that my calendars don't show in Mobile Me either. The headings do but for some reason there are no entries visible.

Just upgraded to FIOS Quantum. My previous Fios STB had a feature in the Event Info screen that allowed for setting "Reminders" for upcoming shows. The reminders would pop-up on screen to remind you of a show about to start, and eventually switch you over to it. Quantum does not show this feature. The Event Info screen is the feature where Recording shows and series, is supported.

Reminders are not available at this time on Quantum TV. Verizon is well aware of this issue, it is my understanding that Verizon does plan to add the reminder function in, but there is no public committed date. I hope we will see it fairly soon, within the next 2-4 months, maybe even less, but Verizon generally does not announce availability of updates in advance. So all we can do is wait.....

Can the iphone set a reminder based on things said in a phone conversation?

Today my wife was on a phone call with her mother and had to cut the call short so she said, "I'll call you back in a few minutes." About 15 minutes after hanging up a reminder went off on her phone (that she had not set) that said "Call back [mom's name]." She was totally surprised by it, but had forgotten to call her back, so it actually came in handy.
Are we imagining things, or can the iPhone actually create reminders without you knowing just based off of things said in a phone conversation? I know that neither of us had set that reminder manually, and we're the only ones in the house.

Right, but in this case, she never activated Siri to set a reminder. She never set the reminder at all. She just said that she'd call her back in the phone conversation and then hung up. Then the reminder came.

Why iPhone don't have feature to download PDF ?

I wonder that many other smartphone including blackberry is able to *download and save PDF files (or mp3 audios) directly from the website.*. Why is iPhone unable to save any PDF whiles which comes as email attachment or download from the web ?
I know that some 3rd party appls are available (which arent much stable) but why didnt Apple include this feature?

It doesn't - it lets you put then in a separate folder area which can do not harm and cannot be touched by anything else except their viewer. Thus if the document has any malware in it, it cannot escape.

Difficult? No. But it's never been a feature of the iPhone. Probably in an attempt to reduce or at least contain music piracy.

4 - Assigning any sound file to a contact
Once you convert the audio file you want to assign to a contact to a ringtone, this is simple. It should take no more than about 2 minutes to do this once you know how. There are a number of free apps that can do this directly on the phone, or you can do it on your computer and sync the ringtones back to the phone with ease.

No, the camera doesn't have a zoom. However, once the photo is taken, you can zoom in on it by dragging outward from the center with your fingers.
