I used to update my iPhone 4S applications whenever a new update is available, but at this time, "unknown error" displays after entering my apple id password. Anyone who could help, whom they might have experienced? Thanks
Hi Christianjr,
When you say you reset your network settings, what do you mean, exactly?
I saw another post on this issue, and the poster indicated that they resolved the problem by turning off their cellular date option and wifi options in Settings, and then turned them back on.
Also, resetting your phone may help - press the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold both down until the Silver Apple appears. Once it is back up, click on the update option and see if it fixes the problem.
If none of those things work, then need to have details on what you did to reset your network settings....

Hi, I updated to 10.5 iTunes. I have a PC running Win 7. I have an iPhone 4.
After updating to the new iOS5, and the attendant iTunes update, now iTunes crashes - a lot - and then won't exit when I click the X. I have to force quit it. Then, it restarts itself a couple minutes later! WITHOUT me plugging in my iPhone! Plus it states it "could not connect to the iPhone because an unknown error has occurred."
This is a brand new fresh install of Win 7 - literally 4 days old; nothing fancy on it.
Anybody else having this problem? I've googled this for a while and can't seem to find any answers. It's getting really annoying!!
Thanks,

Itunes wont let my iphone restore, an unknown error occured (2003). I only pressed restore button.
Hey there Palmer
How are you?
Well, I have an iPod Classic, it gave me the error -1436 error and would not restore on iTunes.
I did the following:
My Boss (@work) has a fairly old iBook but it has OS-X, so I decided to give it a try and connected my iPod to it.
The system showed a window telling me that the disk is not MAC formated and needs to be validated prior further action. Snce it is a Mac product, I thought "yeah, go ahead".
It then opens the disk manager utility for the Mac and showed the disk. It's window has some tabs, one is to verify the disk, so I verified it. Guess what, it had some invalid clusters.
Then I formatted the iPod to OS-X Plus file system (next tab to the right). After formating the iPod, I "ejected" the iPod and reconnected to my PC. The Windows iTunes found an iPod with Mac file system and asked me to restore it. As I clicked on the "restore" button, I crossed my fingers as this was the last resource I have.
Finally, after the file extraction was done, it began to restore the iPod!!
I'm so happy about being able to restore the iPod that I decided to share with all you guys this solution as it is the most usefull, in my opinion.
Hope you can find someone with an iBook or a desktop Mac, so you can fix yours.
If it works for you, make sure to share the tip!!
Kind regards

ITunes could not copy "Song Name" to the iPhone because an unknown error occurred (-50)
Recently when I tried syching one of my playlists into my iPhone 4 (Running on 5.1) using iTunes 11.2.0.26 for Windows (Windows XP SP3), I have been having a problem with some songs I acquired recently. It will sync all the other songs, but when it reaches the song in question, the following error message pops up:
"iTunes could not copy "Name of Song" to the iPhone because an unknown error occurred (-50)"
After which, it stops synching songs altogether.
I tried TWO different USB connectors (BOTH from Apple), and the error still occurs. When I remove the song in question, ALL songs sync normally.
I used the 'Get Info' option to see if there was something in the way the song was coded. This info is from one of the songs that gets synched normally:
Kind: MPEG Audio file
Size: 11 MB
Bit Rate: 256 kbps
Sample Rate: 44.100 kHz
Date Modified: 12/20/2009 4:33 PM
Plays: 1
Last Played: 1/22/2010 8:40 PM
Format: MPEG-1, Layer 3
Channels: Stereo
ID3 Tag: v2.3
Encoded with: LAME
THIS is the info on the problematic song:
Kind: MPEG Audio file
Size: 8.2 MB
Bit Rate: 256 kbps
Sample Rate: 44.100 kHz
Date Modified: 5/1/2013 6:12 PM
Plays: 1
Last Played: 5/3/2013 8:40 PM
Format: MPEG-1, Layer 3
Channels: Joint Stereo
ID3 Tag: v2.3
Encoded with: LAME3.96
By the way, BOTH song (The ones synching normally, and this unsynching song), where purchased and downloaded from Amazon.com.
ANY information that will help me solved this problem will be VERY appreciated. Likewise, if you need any additional information, please let me know...

ITunes could not connect to the iPhone because an unknown error occurred (OxE8000001)
Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere but I don't have the nerves to read through thousands of "I've got the same problem too" replies. I do not care whether anyone has the same problem. So if you don't have any solution do not post! I'm not being rude, I'd just keep this discussion as accessible for other readers as possible. Besides, shouting "me too" doesn't really help anyone. Thank you.
Here's my problem, I sync my iPhone via iTunes 10.5.2, which works fine but after a while it prompts with an error message "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because an unknown error occurred (OxE8000001)". This error message will not disappear and I have to force shut-down iTunes. It works OK for a while after re-start but the error comes back after a while. It is a very annoying little problem because I was waiting for WIFI syncing for so long and now it doesn't work properly
Any ideas how to remedy this?Did you try the solutions mentioned in this article? iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Unknown error containing '0xE' when connecting

Iphone wont restore (unknown error 6)
whenever i try to restore my iphone it say unknown error . What is this?
Hey,
I've had this two or three times now and always seems to stem from a software update for the iPhone that doesn't work properly. This may then coincide with a loss of all my music etc from the ipod function. To be honest I've tried all the forum restore suggestions and nothings worked. I am now on my second iPhone and am going back to the apple store next week as my second phone has now died from the same problem. Sorry I can't give you a magic fix but I really don't think there is one. Sure talk to the apple helpline but all the diagnostics don't seem to be able to help with this problem. -

Help needed! I cannot restore my iPhone 5, An unknown error occupied (1)..
That is either going to be a hardware failure or your phone is jailbroken and something has gone awry with the baseband.

I am trying to update my Iphone 3GS to the 4.01 update, but I keep getting this error: "Itunes could not back up the iPhone because an unknown error occurred" Then Itunes tells me to reconnect my Iphone and try again, I do so...and I retry the update and I get the same error over and over again. I have an Iphone 4s 32gb and i'm trying to update it to ios 5.1. i've downloaded the software from itunes but when i click on it to install it to my actual phone it says: "There was a problem downloading the software for Iphone 'Donnbjj1's Iphone' . An unknown error occurred (1480)."
iOS: Resolving update and restore alert messages
For error -50: See error 13 and 14:
Error 13 and 14: These errors are typically resolved by performing one or more of the steps listed below:
Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting.
Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network. -
