So my dad bought a new USB cable for his iPhone 3GS wen he connected the iPhone to charge he said it turned off n turned on after but then it kept on restarting every 1min.. But it goes to main screen then it restarts over n over I manage to get it into recovery mode n I connected to itune were it asks me to upgrade n restore wen I click ok it starts normal to download n get up to restoring iPhone wen it's about to finish a msg pops up on iTunes saying "iTunes could not restored because an error was detected on iPhone (error 01) .
I tried a whole bunch of times trying to restore but I won't get through at all
Any other ideas would be glad to know I also tried getting out of dfu mode but it just won't .Is your software up to date? You also should be able to leave DFU mode easier then you get in it. DFU mode means nothing is on your iPhone's screen when restoring.

I have tried to update my Iphone 4S today to IOS 7.0.6 and now my iphone wont connect to itunes as it says that it is detected that it is in recovery mode and needs restoring. How do I restore it? I cannot get my phone on at all?

I am trying, unsuccessfully, to restore my iPhone 4 from recovery mode. When I attempt to restore through iTunes I get a message telling me the process cannot be completed because of an error 3194. There is no documentation or information on what this error means - and how to restore the phone when this message appears. Can anyone help?
This usually means you previosly used an iPhone hacking utility such as tinyumbrella, altering the hosts file on your computer, and blocking access to the apple server, gs.apple.com.
"Error 1004, 1013, 1638, 3194: These errors may be the result of the connection to gs.apple.com being redirected or blocked. Follow these steps to resolve these errors:
Install the latest version of iTunes.
Check security software. Ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow this article for assistance with security software. iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. FollowiTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See section "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information".
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service."

My iphone out the blue. suddenly went into recovery mode this evening. Tried all the tricks and didnt work so plugged into computer. It said something like i had to restore to factory settings. If i do this will i loose my photos?? Im pretty sure 98% is backed up on itunes on this computer when i update my iphone a few months ago.
Thanks.just plug it in to your computer and do the factory restore, then when it is done you go thru the prompts and then it will ask if you want to restore as new phone or from backup. Choose backup and restore from itunes.

Iphone in recovery mode and wont restore

I tried updating my iphone 5s to iOS8 yesterday and it was stuck updating for a couple of hours without moving an inch despite me having a good internet connection. so i unplugged it and it went into recovery mode, i knew i would have to restore it but now when u plug it into itunes it says u
it needs to be restored and updated and when i click yes it downloads the iphone software update but when thats finished it just comes up again saying it needs to be restored and updated and when i click yes it just downloads the software update again. its done this about 5-10 times and is getting very frustrating. i have the latest version of itunes so i know it cant be that.
can anyone help?
Many thanksI had a similar issue. Turns out it was my internet connection at home and its inability to download large files without corrupting them (apparently a known issue with my Motorola modem). Usually it's not an issue but I tried it 30 or 40 times before I finally took my device to work and updated it there and it worked on the first try. Do you have the option of trying it somewhere else? Worth a shot anyway.

Okay so I'm based in Australia & own a iPhone 5s
So sometime this faternoon my pohone was perfectly fine. Had my usual signal per suaul when all of a sudden for 8hours my phone started searching for a signal. I asked friends and they had no problem with there phone. So I went to my phone provider for helo (Telstra) & basically all they told me was to do what I told them I was doing. I tried updating my phone to see if that was the cause of the probelm but what happened? iTunes said that it was unable to update & you guessed it & put it in bloody recovery mode! I go to restore it & yes you guessed it again iTunes had an error with that. Was the link it sent me to help? Nope, I had done all of it., My phone is un-accessilbe & iTunes is doing nothing at allThere is nothing to backup.
If the device is showing the Connect to iTunes screen, there is nothing on the device to backup.
The first step in the update process is a backup... restore the device using that backup and try again. -
Hi.
I have just tried to update Ipad to IOS6.1, but it failed during install. The pad now seems to be stuck in recovery mode.
I have tried to restore to factory settings but I get a error code 3194
During attempted restore the restore screen does not show the Ipad name, serial number or software version number.

ive tryed to update my iphone 5s today to ios 7.1.1
i kicked my extention lead and shut down my computer now im stuck whit an iphone that has connect to itunes screen turning it off and on stays the same
ive been looking at Divice manager on my pc it says Apple mobile device (Recovery Mode)
if i connect my phone to my pc itunes wont start up or even connect my phone to itunes
