IPhone 3G 2.1 connection error with iTunes 8 on Windows Vista Enterprise

I was previously able to connect my iphone with my work computer (Windows Vista Enterprise) and it would recognize my phone. However, since I updated my iphone to version 2.1, it will not recognize the phone and gives me the following error message:
"iTunes could not connect to the iphone because an unknown error occured (0xE8000024)."
I am able to connect my phone with version 2.1 to my home computer running Windows XP SP2.
Any idea what may be causing the connection error in Windows Vista?

Hey TranceCadet,
This could be caused by a USB connection issue.
Make sure the iPhone is directly connected to a high speed USB port on the PC and not plugged into a hub, monitor, or keyboard. Disconnect any other USB devices, other than the keyboard and mouse.

You may also want to disable or reconfigure any security software. This article will walk you through putting the PC in a selective startup mode, which will bypass most application conflicts.

  • Updating to iOS beta5 + Connecting errors with iTunes

    Hi guys,
I have a really bad problem:
I didn't want to update the software of my iPod touch (5. gen) to the 5th beta version, but when I turned my iPod on a few hours ago, it shows me a screen like when you have to set up a new one. It was a little bit confusing... I linked the Pod with my MacBook and wanted to restore the iPod in the Xcode Organizer. He extracted the software image and opened it, everything was fine. But suddenly, during he was going to finish the process, he showed me a warning window and told me that he cannot open the software image. I can't remember the exact warning but he sayed something like that.
After this, I tried to restore the iPod through iTunes. He loaded the iOS 6.0.1 image and tried to put it on my iPod a couple of times but finished the process always by poping up a warning which told me that the process failed or that the image has a damage. After propably 5 or 6 times, the process successeded, but then I tried to restore the iPod again through the Xcode Organizer to put on the iOS 6.1 Beta5 again. Same procedure as before restoring through iTunes. It failed and I tried to put back on iOS 6.0.1 but since the process failed a second time in Xcode, he's telling my in iTunes when I try to put the 6.0.1 image on that such a file is already existing.
What can I do or what should I do that it will working fine? I'm not so happy with beta versions on my new iPod so please tell me how iOS 6.0.1 will work on my Pod.
    thanks
    PS:
I've also an other problem with iTunes... every time I connect a device to iTunes it pops up and says that "Datenklasseninformationen konnten nicht erstellt werden. etc" ("Data class information (??) couldn't be made"). That's a problem I've got since.... yeah I think I have those problems since I've updated to the 2nd Beta Version of iOS and/or Xcode46-DP2.

Use the private developer forums. These are public forums where we cannot discuss beta software.

  • Can't Burn CD's with iTunes in Windows Vista x64

Last night I attempted to create an MP3 CD as well as an Audio CD but every time I tried to iTunes popped up a messaging saying that I didn't have a disc or burning software to complete that action. I know there was a disc in there, and iTunes even recognized a blank disc when it was inserted. Is there a problem with burning cds with iTunes in the 64 bit version of Vista??

Does sfc repair any files? If so, does your iTunes start launching properly again afterwards?

  • Burning issues with itunes and Windows Vista Ultimate

I recently purchased a new computer with Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit version. Since loading itunes on my new computer I can not burn a CD. The message that I receive says that there is no burner available. I know the burner works because I have burned music out of different software programs. I have loaded and reloaded Nero 7 but I am finding that is not the problem. Itunes does not recognize any type of CD burner on my computer. Any thoughts?
    Thanks

    paul's onto it.
if you run your DVD/CD diagnostics (in itunes "help > DVD/CD diagnostics", select DVD/CD diagnostics) and you see a 2380 error showing up down near the bottom of the diagnostics (you may need to scroll down a bit), try reinstalling the 64-bit version of the GEAR drivers iTunes uses for importing and burning.
here's a link through to the GEAR drivers. note that there are two different versions of the 64-bit drivers. be sure to get the one that matches your hardware:

  • IPod doesn't sync with iTunes on Windows Vista

    Hi there!
    I'm experiencing the following problem:
the iPod charges when connected to my pc, but doesn't display within iTunes (and Windows Explorer). The 'round load' icon displays for 2 seconds in my iPod when I connect it via my USB 2.0, then disappears.
A few times it has appeared, but then I got a message that the iPod isn't functioning properly anymore (with iTunes) and that the iPod needs to be reset.
When I'm chosing the option to restore, I see a window with a downloading bar but it seems to keep hanging. I tried to restore my iPod several times via this procedure, but even if I waited some hours it is still loading, so it seems to keep hanging within this process.
In order to see wheter this problem has already been known and solved, I've read through the knowledgebase.
I have read the following article:
iPod missing in "My Computer" or in iTunes for Windows
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61711
Unfortunately, proceeding through these steps didn't help me further. Also, I read through the following threads:
My iPOD is not being recognized by my computer.....
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=856777&tstart=30
iPod, when plugged in charges, but doesn't show up on windows, or itunes.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=736748&tstart=0
The action steps provided within these threads also didn't help me further.
Could you please help me to resolve this issue?
Thank you for your time reading this post, any help is appreciated.

I wonder wheter there is a possibility to add files like screenshots and process dumps in order to give the ability for further analysis.

  • Burning cds with itunes and Windows Vista

It seems like my problems with itunes are never ending on my HP laptop with Windows Vista. Originally, itunes screwed up my disc drive, but then I downloaded the 64 bit version of it and that turned out ok. However, whenever I started itunes it says it wasn't downloaded properly and I won't be able to import or burn cds. I've downloaded it before multiple times to see if that message would go away when I started it up, but it didn't. That was fine for a while because I never burn cds but today I wanted to and it wouldn't work. It would say Disc Recording not found. So, I thought I should upgrade to the new itunes 8.1 but I was afraid to because it might screw up the disc drive again. And of course, it did. I even downloaded the 64 bit version. So I guess my question is, how can I install the 64 bit version without that error message and be able to burn cds?

    paul's onto it.

  • Problems with iTunes and Windows Vista

I just got a new dell computer that came with Windows Vista. I'm new to Vista, and just downloaded iTunes. I was able to add my music and it will play, but I can't edit track information. I downloaded iTunes from the administrator account, so I don't know what the problem is or how to fix it. Please help!!

For windows vista, like someone suggested, it may change your permission for editing a file and appear grey screen. As such, the following step might solve this problem.
Go to "Computer", go to your portable hard drive, right click and go to "Properties". Select "Security" Under the "group and user names" choose your user name. To change the permission, choose "Edit" Under permission column, choose "Full Control". After this you may able to edit song information in your itunes.

  • Syncing iPod with iTunes using Windows Vista

I bought my iPod last December and had an Hp Laptop using Windows Xp. Recently I bought a new computer that has Windows Vista on it and since then I can't sync my iPod. iTunes won't recognise that it's even connected. I have transfered all my music and have the latest version of itunes available. Is there something else I have to download to make my iPod syc up? Please help!

It should be working fine. Perhaps your cable has gone bad or the USB port has waffled. Hard to say without trying a few different things.

  • How to troubleshoot iphone 5s connectivity issue with iTunes on Windows 7

When I connect my new iPhone 5s to my Windows 7 home edition PC with the latest version of iTunes, the PC recognizes it. From My Computer I can see a new item "iPhone", which can be opened to show internal storage (photos). However iTunes never sees my phone. If I run diagnostics from iTunes it reports that no devices are found. In the meanwhile, my iPad can connect and get recognized by iTunes without any problem.
    What is missing?
    Thanks.

Okay I found the solution - I'm still surprised this actually worked - which is to connect the phone through a powered USB hub. That's it! iTunes finally wakes up and syncs my phone!
I hope this helps those who might stumble over the same issue.
    Cheers.
