Iphone 3g 8GB ios 4.2.1 baseband 6.15.00

Hello I bought my sister an iphone 3g it was working good until we pluged it to the computer so we could put it back to factory settings.
Now the iphone is stuck in  in the itunes logo with a white arrow and USB cable. I have tried everything but nothing works. Also the iphone said it was running 4.2.1 and baseband 6.15.00 I believe it was.
Thanks

They are either referring to newer iPhones which can officially be updated past 4.2.1 or describe unsupported hacks which shouldn't be attempted.

I have iPhone 3G 8Gb with iOs 4.2.1 how can i download  skype, viber, temple run of old version??? where do i get these apps for my iPhone

You don't. The only place to obtain apps for any iPhone is the app store. However, most, if not all of those apps won't run/install on an iPhone 3G. iOS 4.2.1 is the end of the line for your phone & most developers no longer support it.

  • Hi, I have Iphone 3g, 8gb on ios 3.1.3 nai i want to update my Ios to 4.2.1..

Hi, I have Iphone 3g, 8gb on ios 3.1.3 nai i want to update my Ios to 4.2.1.. i try many ways but iTunes always shows an error in last step.. i really need to update my phone to enjoy new apps and also my iphone i unlock but not jailbroken need help please

If you did not unlock it by having the carrier unlock it you hacked the phone. It may not technically be a "jailbreak" but it is essentially the same thing. And if you hacked the phone that is why it is failing to update. Also, it will no longer be unlocked after updating if you can get it to update.
There's probably nothing we can do to help in an Apple-hosted forum, but there are resources on the Internet that may be able to help.

  • I've updated my iPhone 3gs with IOS 6 but being only 8GB it now has no space for data. Can I go back to IOS 5.1?

I've updated my iPhone 3gs with IOS 6 but being only 8GB it now has no space for data!
Can I restore back to IOS 5.1?

It sounds like you have a hacked/unofficially unlocked iphone.  When you update, it will indeed lock it back, as it should.
The ONLY place that can legitimately unlock an iphone is the carrier to which they are locked and no U.S. carrier does this.

  • IPhone 3G 8GB - cant download IOS 4.0.2 from iTunes

Hi there. I have an iPhone 3G 8GB.
I have been unable to download IOS4.0.0/4.0.1/4.0.2 in iTunes. It comes up with download error 9006.
I have Windows XP with SP2 and use iTunes 9.2.1.5 and use the Safari 5.0.1 (7533.17.8) and Firefox 3.6.8 browsers.
I have no firewall running and have tried to use iTunes over a WiFi and wired Ethernet connection.
The problems started in June 2010 when my WiFi stopped working. The iPhone says:
No WiFi. Not sure if these are related.
    Has anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks

  • Unable to disable cellular data for podcast app Iphone 4S on IOS 8.0.2

Disabling podcast cellular data from Podcasts settings does not work.

    1. I do not know if this will help you or not. In researching this issue with my wife's iPhone 5c 8GB, the most common answer you will get is to adjust this or that setting, and disable this or that App. These at best are only a band-aide solution at all. The best reply I got was from a Verizon Rep that stated "By design, iPhones do turn off WiFi when they go dormant. So if a download is in progress, or information is being back-up wirelessly and the phone goes dormant, it will switch to use cellular data if it is left on". Afterwards, I discovered the exact same information here on the Apple Support Forum to support this statement.
    2. Later onward, I read that if you keep your iPhone connected to a power source, it will prevent it from going dormant. In which case, this will prevent the iPhone from turning off the WiFi, and keep it connected to the WiFi. So far, this has help the most in controlling the amount of data usage being used, by my wife's iPhone.
    3. Now about looking at the detailed usage summary online, you can not go by it to see the exalt date/time stamp of the data usage. Because, by design the cell towers will collect and store certain data usage for up to a six-hours period. After the six-hour period, then the cell towers will release the stored data usage to the company's servers. And at that time, the collected data usage will be recorded on your detailed usage summary online. For a long time, I brainwork that I had caught Verizon with their hand in the cookie jar for say. Because I knew that we were not using data usage at these odd-ball hours of the night or day. Yet, now I have learn that this is just not the case.

  • Installing ios8 on iphone 5c 8gb

    Hi,
I have just bought iphone 5C, 8GB. Its very shocking that I can not able to install iOS 8, because it required atleast 5GB space & in my phone hardly 1 GB space is free. If I install iOS 8, then I only have left 1 or 0.5 GB of free space.
Apple software geeks I wanted to know how I can use iOS 8. If We can't then you are cheating with us & making your customers disappointing.
Hoping to get your reply at the earliest.
    Thanks,
    Vinod

Update it from iTunes on a computer; it'll require much less of the device's space if done that way.

  • Apple iPhone 3GS 8GB Blank Screen While Updating to IOS4.3.3

Hi have iPhone 3GS 8GB. This phone I got as replacement from Apple for my Previous iPhone which got stuck in recovery. This replacement phone was working on IOS 4.2.1.
A few days back Apple has released IOS 4.3.3 and while updating my iPhone via iTunes, there was some error message.
I tried it again and different different errors keep on coming. Now my Phone is totally blank. When I plug the Phone in Computer I can listen to USB Plugin sound coming from computer but nothing is coming on screen. It seems iPhone is stuck in DFU Mode.
Also when I plug the phone in computer iTunes POPs up and says phone is in recovery mode and when I restore the phone error 1600 keeps on coming.
I am 100% sure there is some software issues with the phone as computer responds when I plug in and Plug out the phone (USB Sound). Can any wise person on this Group help me out with the same.
    Regards,
    Anshuman

are you able to see the apps on the home screen? If so, it's most likely an issue with your carrier
This is also an issue that can appear on devices that have been modified in an unauthorized manner (not judging, just saying)

  • Iphone 4 and IOS 7

Not sure if I'm alone on this but ever since updating to ios 7 on my Iphone 4 (8GB), it's been brutally slow.  The slowest experience being facebook but really even going into somthing like general settings or calendar lags.  I've also rebooted phone numerous times and force background apps closed regularly.  I realize IOS 7 was not designed for the 4 and in hindsight I should have opted not to make the leap just because IOS 7 was compatible.  That being said, any tips on how to get some quickness back in my iphone 4 would be appreciated.  I'm still 6 months from an upgrade so I'm stuck with it until then.  Thanks in advance.

Yes, I've done that multiple times as well.  Still slow as molasses.  I've also deleted and re-downloaded facebook, instagram and many other apps that just require a user name and password to access.  Still takes facebook nearly 30 seconds to load.

  • Unable to restore iPhone 3Gs with iOS 4 (error 1013)

I recently updated my 16GB iPhone 3Gs with iOS 4 (iPhone2,14.0_8A293Restore.ipsw) using iTunes 9.2 - it worked fine for a few days then all of a sudden I got a pop up message saying "you are unable to make or receive calls, please connect to iTunes". I did so and restored the firmware, it went through the whole cycle, unpacked, installed, verified and when it was about to be completed I got the following error from iTunes:
"The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1013)"
The phone remained in restore mode (iTunes icon and USB cable). I tried restoring again with the same result. I then deleted the firmware file, rebooted and reinstalled (same error). I then deleted a reinstalled iTunes (no dice). I tried alternative USB ports and cables and also tried on 2 other computers and tried all this in DFU mode too yet nothing has worked.
I would also like to point out that it is an original O2 phone with O2 chi[p that has *never been jailbroken*. Any ideas as to whats wrong? Or what I can do? Thanks in advance for you help!

OK, so nothing else was working so I took my phone into the Genius bar and explained what had happened. The Genius said He was unsure what error 1013 was so he looked it up and explained "It's an error related to the baseband and that more than likely the phone was unable to communicate with Apple servers as Apple had the phone marked as non existent"
He continued to explain that there was a fix he could do but would be quicker and easier to replace my phone. He did so and I left happy.
I recomend you just take your phones in if you are having this same issue!
