IPhone 3g and aux port

Hi Everyone,
I bought an 3.5mm cable to connect my iPhone to the Aux port on my car's radio. The playback works but only seems to play from one speaker. Is there a setting on the iPhone that I'm missing or do I need to play around with the settings on my car stereo?

It was a cable issue. The cable I had was mono not stereo. Got the correct cable and it's working fine

I have a 4th gen shuffle and male on both ends cable to plug into shuffle and aux port in car. I cannot, however, seem to get it to play any songs. I was able to play a first gen. nano through same aux port, but not the shuffle. Are shuffle's even able to play through car's aux.?

Thanks for the feedback JfromPtbo. I finally figured it out, and the solution was pretty simple. You have to turn the volume ALL the way up on the shuffle (not just a few clicks, but really hold down that volume-up bottom), while it's plugged into the aux port. Then, once you hear the songs, you can adjust the volume through the normal stereo volume controls. Sounds good for a $50 ipod and $5 cable.

Perhaps someone can respond to my issue with not being able to get my iphone to work through my vehicle's Auxilary Jack.
I bought a Monster Cable kit for Ipods. It is used to plug into your ipod then into your vehicle's Aux. port. Well it works perfect on my regular Ipod.
However it does nothing when I try it with my Iphone.
Any suggestions?

and have no problems. Maybe Monster doesn't work with the iPhone.

You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup. If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup. You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone. However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

Try leaving it plugged in and then restart the computer.

In most cable systems, the router you have will plug into your modem and just work automatically. A NAT (Network Address Translation) router takes your external IP and hands out LAN (Local Area Network) based IPs. All of the devices you are working with right now should handle the change automatically unless you've changed from the default automatic configuration.
The problem with your wireless end of this is that the iPhone is not yet 802.11n, only 802.11g. Because that router is not dual band, all of your wifi devices will be forced to slow down to 802.11g speeds. This won't matter much for each device that's connecting to the internet, as your bottleneck is still going to be there. Where you will see slowdowns is device to device connections, like transferring data between the devices.

No sound comes out of the stereo dock or car stereo. In Best Buy today, Sales Associate tried his iPhone 5 running iOS 8 on a stereo dock. It worked, but my iPhone 6 didn't. When will Apple fix this problem? Or is Apple pushing everyone to Bluetooth?

The iPod feature that plays through USB in my car does not work with my iPhone 6 either. I called AppleCare and they said that the car audio system will need a firmware update. It needs to be restored by someone. You can do it, and set it up as a new phone, or the buyer can do it.

Yes. You will get issued a number to use, then once you have your pac this will take a few days to update your phone to your old number.
I intend to use the initial number to verify how good the O2 signal is in my area before porting, because if the signal is poor then you have 14 days to return the phone for a full refund.

IPhone 4s will not play through AUX port in car after iOS 6 upgrade

I have a friend who can no longer play music from her iphone through the Auxiliary port in her car. She had been able to do this before the iOS 6 upgrade. In fact, when I checked using a portable speaker, the music did not play.
I researched this and found lots of cases, but no solution. I was surprised to find that there were some users who had experienced no problem.
Is there any wisdom out there on this curious issue. Unfortunately, I do not have the iPhone available for immediate testing of any suggestions. I can relay information to my friend.

this is not uncommon and the fact that it happened around the time of an ios update

I cannot charge my iPhone 4 and cannot get my computer to register when I plug it into a USB port so cannot sync it either. I suspect the problem is with the 30 pin port on the base of my phone. Can this port be cleaned just in case there is 'fluff' or some other foreign material in there?

Try disabling all security software and firewalls, then try again.
Or try from a different computer.
This error is a pain in the butt and a new issue, too. I'm sorry.
