IPhone 3G - Applications Exit to Home Screen

I've got a brand new 3G iPhone. In the course of using many different apps (from Apple and others from the app store) the apps will often exit after a few seconds of use, returning to the home screen. The system software is up to date.
Any idea what might be causing this? Has anyone else experienced this?

Try a reboot (described below).
Think of it this way, the iPhone is more of a computer than a phone. It suffers from being a new OS and nobody can deny there are not bugs and memory leaks. The longer left running, the more things start to fail or slow down (I have had the iPhone since day one of original phone and I am just speaking from my experience). Thus I equate it to like when Windows95 came out...not sure of your age or if you remember those days...but back then it was a running joke of how many days you can keep Windows 95 running before you had to reboot. I am sorry to say but the iPhone is the same way right now (but getting better with a few hiccups back during the 2.0 release). So for me, I reboot daily when I leave in the morning and take it off the charger. By doing so I rarely see any lag or problems.
A reset/reboot is:
Go to Home Screen
Press and Hold Home Button
Keep holding and press and hold Lock Button
Keep holding Both
You will see Slide to Turn Off (Don't let go to slide, just keep holding)
The phone will turn off (in time, but screen will look like it has some white lines)
Keep Holding
When you see the Apple Logo, you can let go.
Turning off via the Slide to Turn off while good and fine to turn off, is more like the Sleep Mode on a computer. Thus any locked up issues in memory remain when you turn back on. A reboot as described is like doing a real Turn off and Turn On on a computer.

Yes. Just select and hold until the app starts to jiggle and then you can move it.

E72 Application shortcuts and home screen applicat...

Hey guys,
I`ve got a weird issue on my E72.
Whichever theme I use,the application shortcuts and home screen shortcuts(wifi search,calendar,chatsetup...etc) are keep highlighted
on homescreen.
I installed ovi store update and polar lotus screensaver from ovi store yesterday.
Since then my theme has changed and the two type of the shortcuts on my homescreen
remain highlighted,whatever I do with them.
I uninstalled the polar lotus scrsv.
I tried all of my themes and default ones,but same everywhere.
I use a black and blue(neon) blue theme.
It used to look like full black screen and blue icons,the name of the apps,and shortcuts also written by blue.
Now the apps shortcuts on the top and also the home screen apps are highlighted with light brown.
I guess the polar lotus scrsv has left some files or configurations after itself,and keeps effecting
the display or themes.
I tried to uninstall and install again all of the themes,but still no luck.
Has anyone experienced something like this before?
Any idea to get back the normal lookout of the themes wtihout highlighting anything(unless the theme contains highlighting functions)?

Could you guys try this blue and black theme by Mr Jorik, to check you also got light brown highlighted app.shortcuts on homescreen,or yours full black screen nothing highlighted?!

The applications icons on home screen are smaller now

Please help after updating.. the home screen icons .. I mean all applications are smaller now than before ,, I have Q10 so please I need help in making them bigger

It sounds to me like you restored from an iCloud backup and now the applications are waiting to download. There was a great discussion on apps that are waiting to download that I’m sure will help you out too. It also includes links for resetting and restoring if necessary.
App updates won't download on my iPhone, they just say waiting.

In settings, the FaceTime icon is not clickable and in home screen the FaceTime icon (application) responds with: "Account Restriction This iPhone is restricted from making FaceTime accounts". I have had a FaceTime account in good order for 2 years now and have not abused or excessively used it. Apple doesn't respond multiple messages, ISP is of no use.

I have tried this and can see that FaceTime is ALLOWED in RESTRICTIONS
I have tried also, in restrictions, other items regarding applications, iTunes App Store without results.

IPhone won't go to home-screen!

My iPhone refuses to go to the home-screen! I have to literally turn off and turn on the entire phone to get to another application on the phone. It's very annoying having to turn the phone on and off, and I know that can't be good for the phone. Is there anyway to fix this? Or will I just have to buy an entire new phone. I've tried resetting it, plugging it into iTunes, charging it etc. I don't know.

You can try the basic restart, reset, and restore found in the manual page 34, 132-133 and 142.
The iphone has a one year warranty. If it is within the warranty you can call Apple or make an appointment at the Genius Bar.

IPhone 5, webpages added to home screen don't open correctly

When I open pages stored to the home screen they appear to open using the old screen size. There are black bars at top and bottom and no navigation bars. Even the time, battery indicator, etc are moved down on the screen.

The error that you are seeing has to do with your Internet connection. Try disabling your anti-virus software and connect the iPhone again and try to restore. See this support document for help. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

When was the last time you powered your iPhone off and on?
Try a reset instead which is similar to a computer restart. Press and hold the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release.

Cover Flow Crashes and Exits to Home Screen

Hey, guys! I'll want to report this to Apple as well. When I flip through album art using Cover Flow slowly, I don't get any problems. But when I try to go long distances, Cover Flow lags then eventually exists back to the Home Screen. Does anyone else get this problem?

The built in apps can't be deleted. If you want them reset back to their original arrangement on your screen, go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. If your purchased apps are missing, either sync them back to your phone with iTunes or redownload them for free (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519).

Iphone 5 ios 6.1.4 edit home screen keep prompting.

My iphone 5 started prompting edit home screen ocassionally. I have to keep pressing the dismiss button. I will like to know why is this message keep appearing and what can i do to stop it.
My iphone encountered missing battery percentage indicator recently without touching any setting on the phone. i went into the setting to activate it. Once i activated it, this is the first time the edit home screen message appear. Now and then, the edit home screen message will appear ocassionally when i unlock my iphone from the lock screen. Sometime i cant even press the answer call when the phone is in lock screen mode.
