Iphone 3g asking for Passcode over and over, dropping calls, slow response
My Iphone is just not happy. It asks for the passcode very often, drops calls and just is slow to respond. I took it into apple service and they said that an internal app was crashing within the phone. This is now the 2nd Iphone (got a replacement) that is now doing this. I dont have a lot of apps loaded, mostly email (exchange server) with calendar. If I restore the phone, it stops, but what a pain in the ars - lose contacts, email setups, etc... Can anyone shed some light on this?
My iphone was also extremely slow. I downloaded an app: System Activity Monitor. Now the speed is back to what it was when I first got it.

No. If you failed to turn off Find my iPhone BEFORE you upgraded to iOS 7, you will need the original Apple ID and password. If you upgraded to iOS 7 you will need this info; there is no way around this. If it is the device passcode you will need to restore your iPhone in order to reset that, which in the end will require your Apple ID and password in order to activate the phone once it is restored.
Why don't you have the original Apple ID? Where did you get the phone? -
hi, I bought a second hand iphone 4s and seller has blocked it and reset it know the iphone is asking for a email and password that the seller was using, I can't contact him know and i'm left with an Iphone that is useless, can you help ma please?
Sorry, there is nothing you can do until the device is removed from the sellers Apple ID.

I figured out that I could use the message selection it gives and just type in my email address and it worked. I dont know why the email selection never worked, it just kept asking me to enter id and password and then telling me I have an account? I will be getting the newest phone so I can be rid of this ancient one: )

Apple ID is a random person's ID. I hit cancel and a new ID pops up. This happens 5 times in a row.
Later the same thing happens with the same 5 apple ID's.
I have erased the Apple ID and entered my ID and Password but I still get the pop ups.
I have entered my Apple ID and password everywhere I can think of.

The phone's software may need to be updated. Is there a cost to have Apple reset the software?
Where did you hear that? Genius Bar visits at an Apple store are free, and any software repairs they do are free, unless the phone is jailbroken; then they won't touch it. But they still won't charge you.
I think it more likely the "update" is actually a phishing attack against you. Unless your phone is jailbroken; then your phone and your security is in big trouble. -
IPhone defaulting back to home screen, freezing and in a loop of rebooting/asking for passcode
iPhone 4, just over a month old, about 2 weeks into use has been playing up since.... I'm certain the problem is the same, but it manifests in different ways, usually daily. If unused for a period (as in an hour or two), the iPhone (when pressing the home button) goes to the black reboot screen, then asks for passcode, back to reboot, passcode and into an interminable loop.
Attempting to launch applications, or the internet, will just revert back to the home screen (as if the home button is pressed), or often, the home button will not work at all.
The onyl way of rectifying this is to shut off or - as this is sometimes not possible - screen and all buttons unresponsive - rebooting (holding home button & one of button)
I'm hoping it's a simple case of reinstalling something, or perhaps reverting to factory settings, but wonder if anyone else has experienced anything similar.Hello Simmo1997,

Been using an ipad 2 without passcode for quite some time. While upgrading to ios 7, I enabled Find Iphone on the Ipad. It asked for passcode and I gave one. Now I forgot it. Connected it iTunes (on my windows 8 system) with which I sync and that too required an update as old version of itunes cannot read ios7. Problem is itunes does not want to get updated. Some vague error on not having right to write a file in ProgramData folder wheras as an admin i have full rights. Next I downloaded the install file from itunes site - no luck it would not install. Then I tried to remove itunes - it does not want to go. Am at wits end... Is the option only to restore it as a new Ipad?
Place the iPhone into recovery mode and restore the iPhone with iTunes on your computer.

Reset iPhone asks for Apple-AD and then asks for password for other Apple-ID (my old, before I changed the email adress). Never had this problems before and I have reseted it once or twice since changing emailadress on the Apple-ID.

If you're trying to back up your device to iCloud, that doesn't have anything to do with your computer. You back up to iCloud over wifi. All you do is go to Settings>iCloud, sign in with your Apple ID to create your account, scroll down and tap Storage & Backup, then turn on iCloud Backup. You can then tap Back Up Now at the bottom to start the back up manually, or lock the screen and connect it to your charger and it will back up automatically every day.
Enabling the iCloud control panel on your PC only allows you to sync your iCloud data with your PC, not to back up your device to iCloud. -

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.
