Iphone 3g AT&T Activation in Sweden?
I have got a AT&T iphone 3g. I restored my phone and now i have to activate it in itunes. The problem is that at&t card doesnt get a connection in sweden so i cant activate the phone in itunes. How can i activate it? Is it possible to give my phone to a apple service store in sweden or do i have to ship it and activate in us?
if you bought the iphone 3G in U.S then it's carrier locked to AT&T, assuming that Sweden has no AT&T and hence does not work in Sweden (unless you have international roaming). Now if you want to use iphone 3G in Sweden with the Sweden sim card, it will not work due to the fact that you bought it from U.S and is carrier locked.

Yes the phone belongs to me. It was purchased from United Kingdom Vodafone to West Africa, i had to factory unlock to use any sim in it. so it belongs to me. I am trying to update my Iphone 3 and when i get to the activation step after a few minutes it shows a message that says " Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try conenecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes.

I updated my Iphone 3gs to 6.1.3, after that m having this message:

Generally, that means the phone has been jailbroken (hacked). You can try restoring it as new using iTunes. Beyond that, there's really nothing we can advise as jailbroken phones can't be supported on these forums.

I previosly had some issues with my iphone because i got it second hand from my auntie in america and when i restored it, it got locked to my mum took it to get unlocked and im pretty sure they did it unoficialy. So a few days ago i tried to upgrade it and now my iPhone says 'your iPhone could not be activated because the server is currently unavailible...' and when i go on itunes it says i have no sim card in it but i do (an o2 but then i got an AT&T one and it still says that) what should i do? (and please dont say buy a new one or there's nothing you can do)
Your phone is locked to a carrier (most likely to AT&T). Updating the iOS usually removes the unlock (hacked one) and the phone gets locked to the carrier it was originally locked to. Contact your carrier (AT&T) who is solely authorized to unlock the phone.

Where exactly did you get this phone?
Do you have a SIM in the phone?
There are 2 primary causes for this.
Either you don't have a SIM in the phone, which is REQUIRED to activate it, or the phone was hacked to unlock it. -

i live in iran. this 3gs was a gift from america .. it contains NOTHING. i can do nothing with it. it cannot be updated cuz the version is low. i dunno what t do please help.Possible causes:
1. Your antivirus is blocking access to gs.apple.com.
2. Your phone is jailbroken.
3. Your computer has been used at some time in the past to jaibreak some iOS device (not necessarily the phone with the problem), and its network database was corrupted by the hacking software that was used.
4. Apple's activation servers are down (very rare, and never for more than an hour or so).
5. The phone was reported stolen. If it was it can never be activated again.
For 1. try disabling your antivirus.
For 2. & 3. you need to go somewhere other than an apple forum for help. Although you can try deleting lines containing gs.apple.com from your "hosts" file on your computer. -

Sounds like your phone was hacked to unlock it from the original carrier and when you update your IOS it locked back up to that carrier.
