Does these (cracks, dust under screen, leaking backlight) problems occur in countries that it has been released?

We bought two white 3G iPhones on launch night.
Neither of them has exhibited any cracks, dust, or dead pixels yet (knock on wood). In terms of construction, they are good, except I don't really like the SIM card insert-it doesn't look well aligned compared to the almost seamless aluminum insert of the first gen iPhone.
I've heard of the cracking issue (never seen it), but never the dust under screen one or leaking backlight one.
My first gen iPhone has one dead pixel now, after over a year. (its amazing how on even a small screen that can get annoying) That would be one issue I would check first.
For all the hassles of getting your phone activated in store (compared to last time), the one advantage is, if you have the time, you can completely examine your phone before you leave, with a Genius standing right there.

If you have a backup, restore the ENTIRE iTunes folder to the computer. This restores the library and device association files. If for some reason you chose to only back up the media and not the entire iTunes folder, then the only option is to let iTunes wipe the drive and re-sync.

Caution - Leopard does not support classic mode. So, if you currently open OS 9 apps in classic mode, you won't be able to do this if you upgrade to Leopard.

We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
Why weren't you able to download each day's gift ? Whilst the 12 Days app required iOS 7 to be able to install it on a device, each day's gift was available to download direct in the iTunes or App Store apps, or via iTunes on your computer.

IPhone internet defect

Hello, this is my second iPhone defect, I returned my last one and got a brand new one. Now, I'm getting an internet defect. On safari, I try to load google, yahoo, anything and it doesn't work. It just stays at the loading screen, I went to three peoples houses, including my own plus 3g and it still does that. When I try to close a tab, I go to tab, and press X it does nothing. I don't know what's happening. Please help, and let me know if I can return it and get a brand new one.
P.S. it's been more than 30 days since I got it.

Replacing iPhones when there is not a hardware issue can actually hurt more than help.
For example you get your second iPhone and your carrier has not even updated your new IMEI in the system yet but you are having problems so your just want to new one. Now third iPhone same issues but more potential issues like now SMS/MMS, 3G not working because of your IMEI is not up to date.
Highly unlikely that after a restore you would have data connectivity issue on both 3G and wifi.
Other have already posted great troubleshooting steps for resolution.
If after you have actually performed those steps and still connectivity issue next call is to your carrier (AT&T, etc). Make sure they have your new iPhone IMEI number on both the front and backend systems. They can completely scrub your account and re-provision it and push that down to the iPhone. It will require power off of iPhone and then power back on.

It's a really nice program that converts not only your HOME MOVIE DVD VOB files, but AVI, MPEG, and others. You can set the CPU usage from high to low with five settings, it has a queue which you can add multiple files to, and it will minimize to the taskbar for compact convenience. There are other Windows programs that do much the same, but I prefer Videora. Oh ... and it's freeware!!

Aperture not syncing with iPhone, iLife, iTunes, etc

The problem: Aperture isn't syncing. I thought this was an iPhone problem, but apparently, it's a system wide thing. Let me explain:
I'm running Aperture 3.2, but I've had this problem for a while now - probably since upgrading to Lion.
In Aperture, I have a smart album that contains any photo I've rated five stars. Currently, there are 180 photos in it. In iTunes, I've selected to sync certain things from Aperture to my iPhone. If I click on that 5 Star smart album, it only shows that there are 21 photos. Huh? So, as a test, I opened iPhoto (which I never use). In the File menu, I clicked "Show Aperture Library" and I selected my 5 Star smart album. Sure enough, iPhoto only sees 21 photos in there. But if I click over to Aperture, I see that smart album contains 180 images.
What's going on here?
I should also note that a search of the forums here at Apple support show lots of people have been having similar problems, but most only notice they're missing photos when they sync their iPhone. Clearly, the problem is deeper than that. Aperture sees 180 photos in my 5 Star smart album. iTunes, iPhoto and my iPhone are only able to sync 21 of them?
And how weird is this? In Aperture, I have a smart album of shots that were taken with my iPhone and rated 3 stars or higher. There are 115 shots in that smart album. iTunes and iPhoto only see 38.
Somewhere, for whatever reason, Aperture is telling the rest of the system that it has far fewer images than it does. How do I figure out where the problem is and how do I fix it?

Your workaround worked for me to until I started to use Aperture to adjust photos in several projects in Aperture. After that, Photos were missing again on my iOS devices etc., and I couldn't imagine the process on making new previews for all my 25.000 photos once again. My old MBP is just too slow.
I had to see if I could find a workaround to work with only the adjusted photos which looked as the ones missing after syncing to the iOS devices (or at least just the project in which the adjusted photos are).
This example works for me for the time being:
Usually a project (let's call it "XYZ") with newly imported photos have the same number of photos in Aperture and in the event with the same name XYZ on an iOS device.
If not all photos sync between Aperture and iOS (usually after adjusting photos in Aperture), I use this process, which I found out to use after adjusting several photos:
When I adjust a photo I let Aperture automatically make the adjustments in a new version and let the versions stay in a stack.
I make sure to change the rating for all the other photos in the stack to x (9) (i.e. except the version I want on my iOS devices - yes only one and the same versions goes to all the iOS devices, I sync via iTunes).
After rating be sure to use the pick function on the version you want on your device (the version rated higher than x (9) - which means that the wanted version "goes to the top of the stack".
Now view "unrated or better" (which means your x (9) rated photos won't show)
The process from here seems to work also if by any other reason photos won't show up on the iOS device.
Choose a project, all the photos in a project or just the photos missing in iOS, and delete the previews
Then generate thumbnails - this could take some time and for sure it takes time. At least if you need to do it with thousands of photos.
Close Aperture when all the new thumbnails and previews are generated.
Open iTunes and sync your iOS device. I think it works best (fastest) with the cable, but I think it should work via WiFi-sync too.
It is **** of a workaround, but it is the only way I can get all the right photos on my iOS devices after adjusting photos in Aperture.
The next coming up must be how to manage to sync back to Aperture the photos adjusted in iPhoto on the iOs devices:-)
Note: Any adjustments made to a version seems not to be deleted when deleting previews, but is kept and put back on a new generated preview.

I recently lost the computer i had my itunes on. I also recently got an iphone. Everything was perfect and set up but then I had to create a new itunes account on my Dell desktop. Anyway, when i created the account and connected my iphone i told me something about my iphone only having what was on my itunes on the computer. I thought that was fine because all of my music is my purchases. But i turns out that a whole chunk of my music wasn't there and my playlists got screwed up. Playlists fine but I went to download the music and every single one of 33 songs says, Cannot download file corrupted, error 10000. Is this a problem with my computer? These files were fine before i connected my iphone to this computer and itunes setup on it. And I have them on my iphone but can't figure out how to move them from recently added to a playlist for running etc. Thank you!

so i went ahead and did a restore from the new PC and then a restore from backup. looks like that fixed everything... a few playlists were messed up and so far as i can tell, maybe just a few minor issues.

The official way to do it is to restore the iTunes library that was on your old computer to your new computer using the backup of your whole system you regularly update. Then you are syncing the phone with the same old library.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.

I had the same issue with my old iPhone and the 'long & short' of it was that you can't do what you want to do, unfortunately- because it's not a "storage device and because of the way that iTunes works.
BUT..... I found an application that I run on my MacBook Pro that did it FOR me. It's called: "Phone View" I suspect there's a similar app that will do it for you with your iPad. The hitch is, you CAN NOT sync your iPad to iTunes (at least NOT your contacts) until you can fish that info off your iPad first; because, otherwise, iTunes will "replace" the info on your iPad with the contact list on your computer- which, according to your description, is empty. The result would be erasing your contacts.
If I find a iPad version of something like "phone view" (for iPhone) I'll post it here.

IPhone: open()/close(), etc, fails, yet fopen()/fclose() works...why?

I've just wasted about a days worth of development effort trying to figure out why my logging routines on the iPhone fail (while working on the simulator). I was using the standard C routines open/close/read/write. Their return values are valid, so imply they are working, yet no files are produced.
I finally discovered in the docs that iPhone supposedly supports fopen()/fclose() etc .Since these are typically mere wrappers to the lower level functions they should fail also, but I gave them a shot and they work as advertised. So why the *((# should open() fail when fopen() works???
grrrrr.....

Because Apple told you not to call anything that wasn't in the documentation when you signed up for access to the SDK.

Is my iPhone 4 defective/broken or not?

Hello people, please excuse me if my English are a little bit wrong. Sorry
So I have had my iPhone almost three months now and a month ago I am having these problems:
1.) my battery drain so much when I turn my 3G off, what I mean 3G is just the 3G, not the mobile data.
2.) every time I turn on 3G, (what I mean 3G is just 3G not mobile data). My signal goes down from 5-1 sometimes go up to 2-3 bars but mostly 1.
3.) when I turn it off my signal surprisingly go up from 1-5 but takes few seconds, then after few hours the signal go down one by one until it goes to "NO SERVICE"
This all starts when I updated it to 4.0.2, I have updated it to 4.1 but didn't fix the problem.
I am just waiting for a new update to come to make sure before I talk to apple
So do you think it's defective or do you think it's a software problem?

It certainly should be unlocked if it is an official purchase from the UAE as none of their official carriers lock the handset. You do need to be aware though that the handset will not be able to use Facetime even if you are not in the UAE as it is disabled
