IPhone 3G earphones remote doesn't work
My Apple remote earphones don't work even though i can still hear audio. Basically the remote pause and skip function has stopped working as has the mic. Any ideas?
Fandang, Thanks so much for posting your reply ! I cleaned the socket with a cotton swab but that did not fix it. I then took a closer look at the headset socket. On the side you can see 3 tiny metal balls stick out. I carefully used a small pin and pushed each ball in a bit and that fixed it
I bought my iPhone from Italy (all are SIMlock free there) and it would have been a ***** to ship it back to Italy to get it repaired. Thanks again!

If so there is probably nothing that can open it under Lion.
I know when I did my migration from AW, all of my document I was able to open in Pages and all of my spreadsheet I was able to open in numbers.
The information I had in AW databse I had to export using AW and then I imported it to Bento. I did all of this before migrating to Lion.
If this information is that important to you, it may be necessary for you to run Snow Leopard again at least on a partition to get the data exported.

As you know, your iPhone 5 is not compatible with our iBook G4. To get your music in iTunes from your iBook to your iPhone you would need to migrate the music files to a newer intel based Mac. A Mac which has Mac OS X 10.6 or higher installed. Then sync your iPhone 5. -

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps, like resetting you iPhone, for example? Or restoring it?
If not by all means do so because your problem could be caused by software glitches that could be solved resetting or restoring.
Warranty is for one year from date of purchase and two years if you bought Apple Care at the time of purchase. If your iPhone has a hardware issue within warranty, it would be replaced by Apple. If it is already out of warranty, you might be eligible for an out of warranty replacement where you pay a much lower amount but this varies according to the country and currency, so it is better to check with Apple or with an authorized reseller.

Hi I recently bought a pair of earpods for my 3rd Gen ipod shuffle only the remote does not work, so i exchanged them from an unhelpful member of staff from Currys who said the problem could be my device. So i just tested the new ones and the same problem again! I already checked that they are compatible so i don't understand why the remote doesn't work. Remote doesn't work with Universal Docking Station

I have an iPod nano 3rd gen. Whilst in the dock the remote doesn't work at all until I select some music manually using the nano controls. Then I get a response. This is the second docking station from Apple.
Surely it has been designed to work with the remote as soon as it has been docked to enable scrolling through the menus? There are archived discussions from years ago about the same problem and no solutions! It appears that this product is known to be defective by Apple yet they do nothing and when you call them they act as if the problem doesn't exist. They appear to be selling products that don't work and then do nothing about it.i just bought this dock as a car dock. I have it hooked up to power 12v and output to 1/8 into head unit. Now, I have to be in iTunes music to get it to work and it only allows volume, playing of files in a playlist and to next song. Are any of you guys having issues with VERY limited use of the remote and lack of really a benefit from using a remote because you have to touch it anyways to change through songs or video??? Are you guys wondering why you even bought it if the remote is not supported as a functional addition?

I already restored and turned off and turned on and checked rotation option in portrate oriention by double clicking but it didn't work .
Please Help me .oops my bad, you did say exactly that you had tried that. Sorry. Also you already Restored too. Only thing I could add, is to Restore as New iPhone, at end of Restore when prompted Set Up as New iPhone. And then see if better. Anyway, iPhone 4S has full Warranty, make Genius Reservation and take iPhone to Apple for resolution.
