Iphone 3g GPS, Egypt Update
this might be the wrong place to post this ( direct me if i'm wrong )
Egypt has its Iphone with the GPS hardware disabled because it WAS banned.
as of last month Egypt has lifted the stupid ban on commercial gps in phones and cars.
will OS 3.0 or any sort of firmware update be direct to solve our problem and unlock our poor gps.

Hi,
The GPS on my iPhone 3GS appeared to stop working. I traveled overseas recently and tried to locate myself with Maps app, and it failed to locate me. (I had cellular off, Wifi ON, LocationServices On, 3G off). The compass app also shows the previous GPS coordinates and never updates to the new location I am in at the moment.
I have tried rebooting my iphone numerous times, resetting network settings, resetting location services, tried different GPS mapping application, tapping the iphone against my hand, standing outside the house hoping to catch any GPS satellites, tried different combination of cellullar/3G/Wifi/LocationServices on/off states, and doing the steps that others suggested (after Google-ing) - all failed to provided me with a working GPS.
If I read "support.apple.com/kb/HT1975" correctly, then when I switch off both cellular and Wifi, iphone 3GS should be using the internal GPS to pinpoint me.
But, according to "support.apple.com/kb/HT1355", the GPS module is switched off if I switch off cellular...which contradicts the KB above..
I tried switch on & off cellular, but my GPS coordinates (as displayed in Compass app) remain wrong. Anyone has similar experience ? Do you think my iphone GPS module is faulty?
Any suggestions would be grateful. Thanks.

On a trip abroad the GPS AND Compass completely stopped working. It worked for 7 days abroad before malfunctioning. It has been working flawlessly since I bought it 7 months ago. I´v tried all of the above measures and some more. At times the compass flickers around for a second before locking at Zero degrees North. Maps works as long as i dont try to locate myself. Then the blue haircross-button starts with the "spinning-Wheel" of loading, and just keeps going.
I´ve also noted that since this issue started last week the phone drains the battery a lot faster, even when I´m not fiddling around alot. I did a test some days before this issue and reached 20% in more than 5 days (>120h)!
The only test that I´ve read about and haven´t tested is the "rm -rf"-command witch requires a Jailbraked phone. I argue that I shouldn´t need to jailbrake it to get it to work properly.
So? Is it hardware or software?

IOS 6.1.4 released for iPhone 5 Adds an Updated Audio Profile for Speakerphone
Apple has just released an Over the Air update for the iPhone 5. It seems to only provide an updated audio profile for the speaker phone. Nothing else listed in the change log.
I would assume that there will be an iTunes downloadable update available shortly.It obviously is because you didnt understand. The iphone 4's last update to IOS 6.1.3 in some cases caused the phones speakers to not work (in which this happened to mine and a few people I know) which some people got rid of their phones. HENCE the AUDIO UPDATE that they recently posted but only iPhone 5 can download the update. That is my problem. I have alot of apple products diesel vdub and have had apple for a long time but I can't seem to understand why they would do this and I posted this in hopes to find more people that have had this issue and if they did anything to help fix it this issue. Thank you for your concern though.

I'm having trouble updating my iphone 4 since i updated to 4.3.3 i can't update it anymore. initially itunes would let me go so far as downloadin the new software then an error poped up as soon as the download finished, and now when i connect it to my itunes, itunes freezes for about 5 minutes then says something like "could not load sync service, reconnect or try again later" any ideas on what i shud do?

I just recently purchased 3 songs from itunes not knowing that I had no money on my debit card (visa) left. My iphone wont let me update my apps and says that there was a billing problem with my last purchase. I dont know what I am supposed to do! I dont understand why it worked in the first place when it wasn't supposed to!
There seems to be a billing problem with the iTS. I've been trying to make purchases today (Dec 9th) too and it reports either the iTS can not process payments or it says my card was declined. I even changed the payment method to Paypal (which is never declined) and still no go.
I don't think it is "you" but a problem at Apple. Some popular new apps were released recently like Logic Pro and perhaps they're getting bombarded as they did when Lion was released.

IPhone 5s WILL NOT UPDATE to 7.0.4
Hi there!
I recentley got an iPhone 5s the other day new, with ios 7.0.3 loaded onto it.
I've been trying to update to 7.0.4 for the last couple days, and not ANY success. Gives me the error, iphone could not be updated unknown error occurred.
It's given me different numbers but the one I recall is (17). (Yes I've tried several times)
So what happens is, I try to update, it extracts the file and proceeds to load the files on the iPhone. The iPhone turns off for the first time, and tries to start back up to start loading the files, but instead gets stuck in a recovery loop, every single time I try this.
When It get's to this point I'm forced to use a third party program to exit the loop.
I've completed a windows update, have the latest version of iTunes, Updated/Re-installed iTunes, and also tried restarting my computer. Still no success.
I've also tried downloading a seperate 7.0.4 IPSW, and still no success.
One other weird thing I noticed is I can't update from my phone. It's stuck at checking for update, and keeps loading.

I have an Iphone 4 just recently updated to IOS7 and was successful used all this past week. At aroun midnight my phone aske to update IOS software a fix to bugs on the sofware. Since then my phone has been locked up just showing an apple on the display and it will not marry up to itunes????
All of Apple's servers...including the activation servers are pretty much flooded with users like you doing the same thing. Be patient and keep at it...or wait till the traffic to them has decreased and then try again. Coming back to it tomorrow (if that's a viable option for you) will likely increase your chances of not having issues.

My iPhone 5s won't update to iOS 8.0.2. I had been using beta versions of iOS 8 but even though there is a '1' in the Software Update box, it tells me my software is up to date (iOS 8).
However, I also get messages telling me my current iOS will expire in x days. I now have dozens of apps waiting to update, telling me I have to upgrade to iOS 8.0.1 or later.
I've tried to manually install iOS 8.0.2 but I get a message saying the firmware isn't compatible.
Any ideas?Ask in the developer forum; someone there should be able to help you.

Hi.
I had a similar problem myself. This is what helped me.
I went to the App store app, scrolled to the bottom, logged out of the account, re logged in with my Apple ID. Then went back to app updates. Once I put in my ID password all was fine.
