IPhone 3G iOS 4.1 can't find Wi-Fi connections! Can it get fixed?

Well, I bought an used iPhone 3G a couple of weeks ago and realised that the Wi-Fi dosn't work! -.-' I look all over the internet, both youtube and google, but didn't find anything other then that is a common problem with the 3G. Now i wonder if there is any way that I can fix that or I can just kiss the Wi-Fi good bye? The phone is running on iOS 4.1. Thanks for ANY answers!

i only got one problem.. my modem firmware is 06.15.00! so i can't upgrade the **** phone and if i go to an apple store or something like that they will realise that it was jailbroken and the warranty is out -.-' so i'm pretty much stuck with this crap now.. thanks for the help anyway i'll just buy a new one, and i realy mean NEW one not a used again and i will hopefully not have any of these problems! but what do u think, an iphone 3gs or 4g? i don't realy like the looks of 4g but i dont know if its any better then 3gs when it comes to speed, wi-fi, 3g, and other stuff? and is it worth the money? don't want to throw away a bunch of cash just to have the "newest" iPhone -.-'

Verizon iPhones are GSM unlocked by default, so get a SIM and try it.

After you install the base 10.5, download & install the 10.5.8 combo update at http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_X_10_5_8_Combo_Update

Caution - Leopard does not support classic mode. So, if you currently open OS 9 apps in classic mode, you won't be able to do this if you upgrade to Leopard.

That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

I'm very new to this sort of thing, so bear with me. I had my computer in to the Apple store on Jan 10th, & they replaced Leopard with Snow leopard because of problems. I have iphoto 8.
This morning opening my computer a picture briefly appreared that I had saved to iphoto. I decided to place it in its correct event box, and ! sign appeared. Upon opening iphoto, I found a blank. I've not backed up my files. I've looked everywhere on the system, including Trash, applications, Pictures, all my document files.
Also I had 2 icons of iphoto on my desktop because it had disappeared 2 years ago & came back some months later. Two days ago I decided to clean up my desktop & moved the icons to the pIcture file and a document file. I don't know whether this triggered the disappearance. The main icon is still in the dock.

I was having the same problem. I followed the directions from the link you listed, but the library file in the Previous folder was dated the same as the date of my upgrade. There are no other files in that folder. I tried anyway but it did not work. Any suggestions short of individually adding them?

Only if you made a backup of the old iPhone which includes the photos you had stored in Camera Roll (if the photo you want to restore is there) or if the photo was stored in Photo Stream. In both of the cases, you will be able to get back the photo, but note that Photo Stream deletes photos 30 days after adding them

I'm sorry to hear that your iPhone 4s was lost, and glad that you were able to upgrade.
If your iPhone 4s was backed up to iCloud or using iTunes, you can restore the backed up data to your new phone.

Are you using a original USB cable? if not, than it could be the cable. If you are charging the iPhone with your computer, sometimes the USB port where you plugged in the cable stops working. plug it into a different USB port.
