Iphone 3g not recognized by itunes but recognized by pc as camera? HELP!
I have been through the help pages, checked that i have the most upto date itunes.
I went through the Verify iPhone Driver/Service Installation page. When i open the DEVICES page i scroll down to the USB lists and there is no iphone or apple mobile device listed. I look under Imaging devices and there it is Apple mobile device.
I have tried rebooting my pc rebooting the iphone tried differnt usb ports and unplugging every other usb device. Yet when i plug in my iphone in the bottom right hand screen corner a bubble appears which says "digital still camera". Then asks me which program i'd like to open to view my pictures! If i leave it attached it charges the iphone but does nothing else.
My husband can connect his iphone not 3g to the computer and it syncs no problems.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Attach your iPhone to your PC.
Open up My Computer and locate the iPhone on the list of drives. It might call it a camera or imaging device.
Right-click on the iPhone in the drive list and select "Properties."
On the "Events" tab, select "Take No Action." Make sure that nothing else on that tab is selected.
Click on "OK."
That should stop it from asking what program you want to edit your pictures with.

my iphone does not sync with itunes on my second authorized computer, please help. i changed the first authorized computer in May 2012 and have been using the second authorized computer since then but it cannot sync - please help!!
"I was thinking I would just connect my iPhone and all of my music and other stuff would transfer to the new computer. "
Not true. The music and pic sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
You really should transfer everything from the old computer, or your backup copy of your computer. Since you do not have access to the old computer, then use your backup copy of the old computer.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy of your computer ( not good), then you would have to transfer itunes purchased as described earlier. Any other itunes content would be lost.
You can e-mail photo library pics to yourself, but they will not be of the original quality.
Before syncing, enter at least one unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. When you first sync, then you should get the option to merge the data. -

syncing problems
That does happen. It depends on how hard the server is being hit, as well as the connection speed of your system. If you are on a windows system, you will want to disable any antivirus or firewall software during the download.

After iTunes 11 update my iPhone is not recognized, tried everything
Hi,
I've decided to update my iTunes to version 11, 2 days ago and since then my iPhone is not visible in iTunes but is visible under "my computer". I've folowed every single step twice from this help guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538 and nothing helped. The only different which I've found is that in Device manager my iPhone is not detected as "iPhone" but "MPT USB DEVICE".
Win 8 (64 Bit), iPhone 4 (iOS7), iTunes 11
Thanks for help.

I have not been able to sync my iPhone 5s on my PC sincethe most recent update to iTunes. My computer showsthe iPhone as connected, but iTunes does not recognize it. I tried the trouble shooter and got device not recognized. I clicked the help button beside the failed test and get iPod instructions. How do I get iPod instructions for work for an iPhone? Better, how can I get this to show iPhone instructions? (On my other computer, I had to uninstall every Apple product to get the new iTunes to work.)
You wrote: (On my other computer, I had to uninstall every Apple product to get the new iTunes to work.)
You may have to do this on this computer as well. http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5376 -

IPhone 5 not recognized by iTunes 12
Hello all,
I have an iPhone 5, I'm running iTunes 12.0.1.26 and Yosemite (OS X 10.10.1). Over the last few days, I've noticed that my iPhone is not recognized by iTunes or even Yosemite itself. I have already tried everything in this doc: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for OS X - Apple Support, to no avail. I've been combing the communities and Google to no avail. Does this mean I need to try a manual restore on the phone? Any other solutions?
Thanks
GinaI was able to uninstall and reinstrall iTunes, but my Iphone does not appear in iTunes, nor in Windows Explorer on my Windows 7 desktop. But it does appear in both iTunes and Windows Explorer on my laptop which runs Windows 8... How can I get it reconginzed on my desktop?

My iPod and iPhone are not recognized in Windows 7 iTunes. I've reinstalled iTunes and restarted windows. Now iPod briefly displays, then device manager mass storage shows a yellow exclamation point. iPhone doesn't display in iTunes at all. Please advise
Try Andrei Cerbu's post here, JF Fourie's post here, or see TS1538: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows, in particular section 5, forcing a driver update. See also TS1363: iPod: Appears in Windows but not in iTunes.

Iphone 3G not recognized in Windows XP or seen in iTunes
I recently updated my itunes to iTunes 10. When I plug in my iphone 3g to the usb port, all that happens is that Windows recognizes and installs a camera device. The iphone is not being seen. iTunes also does not recognize the iphone under devises. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes per the recommendations on the apple support website. To no avail. In the devices section in Windows, the iphone is not showing up. I have tried several usb ports on the computer and none of them show the iphone. When I took the phone to work and plugged it into the computer at work, Windows XP immediately recognized it and so did iTunes. At work, the iTunes is iTunes 9.
I'm not sure what do to. Any suggestions?
Thanks. If I had to take a wild guess it would be that you have a problem with the USB bus on your computer. Since you tried connecting the phone to another computer and it worked that would rule out the problem being on your computer. The only other idea I have is that if you didn't use the same dock cable on both computers that it could be the cable, but I would assume that you used the same cable both times. I would recommend checking to see if any other USB peripherals have problems connecting to your computer as well.

IPhone 5 not recognized by iTunes - Cannot uninstall iTunes
When I connect my iPhone 5 to my PC, the iPhone is no longer recognized. I tried to unintall iTunes (so that I could re-install it) but now I get an error when trying to unintall it from Control Panel that reads "Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file exists and is writable." I'm using Windows 7 64-bit.
I was able to uninstall and reinstrall iTunes, but my Iphone does not appear in iTunes, nor in Windows Explorer on my Windows 7 desktop. But it does appear in both iTunes and Windows Explorer on my laptop which runs Windows 8... How can I get it reconginzed on my desktop?
